Moses is spectacular. Our order went to a Dasher and they delivered to the wrong person. Moses called me because I ordered for my husband who just got off of a 12 hour shift and he personally delivered it after closing. He is a very special person, and you don't know how this made my heart melt. He went above and beyond any expectations. My husband has been in the oilfield for 20 years working in west Texas and New Mexico and he has never had anyone go all out this way. This is the best customer service we have seen and dealt with. This was our second time having a meal at Dickies in Midland,TX. Both times while on our long drive from Vail, AZ to Southlake, TX, and back. Both times we were thoroughly impressed with the quality and deliciousness of their food! My smoked turkey was tender and a generous portion. My husband said his pork sandwich was one of the best he had ever tasted! There are 3 bbq sauces to choose from to add to your meats. I like that fried okra is in their menu. Passing through Pecos for a quick one night stay on our way home, we were starving. However, I have an allergy to latex gloves, so I always have to find out what kind of gloves are used in the kitchen. I called ahead and happened to speak to Kris, the owner. He told me that they never use latex gloves because he's been in food service for a long time and he's aware of the allergy to latex. This sealed the decision for us to go eat there, because not many are aware of it and/or don't take it seriously. It's very obvious that Kris understands. At first, he told me their gloves were Nitrile gloves (which are fine for me, as far as allergies go). A minute or so after I hung up, my phone rang with a Pecos # calling..and it was Kris, to tell me he was mistaken, the gloves they had in use were actually Vinyl gloves, which are also fine. But the point was, he took the time to call me back to let me know, just in case. That right there is amazing customer care! When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't very busy. We had great service from the 2 employees that were behind the counter. After we finished eating, I stepped back up and happened to notice the name on the shirt of the 3rd person behind the counter...who happened to be Kris. I introduced myself to him and thanked him again for taking latex allergies seriously and how kind/understanding he was on the phone. Stopped in to grab dinner after Long day at work. I have not been impressed with Dickey's in other cities but it was the closest choice so I took a chance. Figured I would not even risk the brisket so I went for the rib plate. I mean, how can you screw up ribs? Well Dickey's accomplished it, these ribs were dry and tough, and flavor was totally forgettable. Honestly, I think Texas should outlaw the chain because it give Texas barbecue such a bad name. Seriously, I don't know how they stay in business. On top of the bad ribs there was a roll that would have been better described as hardtack. For sides I had fried okra and coleslaw and they were thankfully edible ät least or I would have been making another run for dinner. Aside from the poor food, my container for the ribs looked like it spent time in a trash can with food particles and sauce all over the outside. I also asked specifically for unsweetened iced tea and received a partially sweet tea. Tasted like someone started making a sweet tea and realized their mistake.
