Never buy a bike from here. They don't put the bikes together properly and their warranty program sucks. My son rode the bike we purchased 2 times before the whole crank and chain bent into the spokes of the wheel. He didn't even get a good 6 months out of it. They had the bike for two months while I'm calling them weekly about fixing the bike. And then the managers act like they don't know how to get in touch with the manufacturer for a bike that's currently being sold in the store. I came to pick up an online order. After they looked for 20 minutes I said I would like to cancel the order. The employee said she couldn't because it was in the system. After over 30 minutes, I told one of the employees I had to leave. She replied that Kim, the person who pulled the order was coming out now to get it. Well where was she 15 minutes ago?!? And how could she walk right in and find it when 3 others had searched and not found it! Very disorganized store and I am very disappointed in the lack of response and care from the staff. I come here every once in a while to pick up some sports items. Mostly tennis balls and some fitness gear/clothing. This place is rather large and expansive, offering a lot of selections in shoes, brand names, gear for the popular sports... so get ready to walk around a bit if you are shopping around or looking for something specific. My last visit here wasn't particularly great. It seemed like the store was undergoing a re-organization so there was a whole section that was in disarray and/or moving somewhere else. The staff that work here seem to be mostly high-school students... You get what you pay for I guess.... they can be helpful at times, but sometimes they can be wrapped up in their own work-life dramas and interpersonal relationships. This is just by observation as I saw these two girl cashiers gossiping about one of the other employees or the managers while I waited in line for forever. read more

I had never been in Dick's Sporting Goods in Matthews until the fall of 2022. I needed some athletic shoes and really like Brooks. I was pleasantly surprised at the very large selection of athletic shoes they have and yes, plenty of the ones by Brooks. The salesperson was very helpful even though he was helping another customer that required far more help than I. He checked on me after he brought me the first pair I asked for and I asked him if they had the "support" ones that Brooks makes. They did, he showed me where those were on display and then went back to bring out another pair that I chose from those. I am very happy with my purchase and was very pleased with the service and hope to continue to give them my business. read more

This Dick's used to have excellent customer service. I don't know what changed, but they don't any more. In fact, the people who work there are now kind of... Ok, well, perhaps that joke is a little TOO obvious. Seriously, though. I don't care how much cool stuff you have or how awesome your sales are. If I ask you if you have a shoe in a certain size and you answer "probably not" and walk away without even looking at me, I won't be buying anything from your store. I have been looking for a decent sized duffle bag and never thought to look at this store until one of my friends recommended that they might have some. And to my surprise she was right. They had a good selection of duffle bags. All ranging from xtra small to xtra large. I was looking for a medium bag. The crummy thing is they didn't have what I wanted in reach. For some reason they were ALL displayed on the top top top shelf! I couldn't reach it even if I tried. So now I had the task of trying to find someone to help. I found one employee and they said they would help me after assisting a customer. They NEVER came. After wanting 10 minutes, I went to try someone else. They said they were busy helping someone but would be with me shortly. Well that didn't happen. Finally... after waiting 20 minutes for some assistance... I decided to do things my way. I went and found a lacrosse stick... pushed a workout bench over to the spot and smacked the bag off the top shelf. Very frustrating. If it wasn't such a cute bag I would have said screw it. This is one of the few dick sporting good location but has poor service. Are used to be a regular customer this location after getting burned several times with poor service I have switch stores. Dick's Sporting Goods is one of my favorite companies and I will continue to shop there. Location at South Park, which is the flagship store, is excellent. Pineville location is also superior. I went into Dicks Sporting goods before Christmas to buy my niece some skates. They didn't have any in stock. I had to find an associate to help me even though the store was not crowded. After finding an associate...they suggested ordering online. So the associate place the order for me there in the store. With the guarantee that they would be delivered by Christmas. And if not I would get a refund. On 12-23-2016 I called customer service to inquire about my order. Associate told me to wait one more day and that if they were not delivered by Christmas eve to call back and they would issue a refund. I received my order on 12.27.2017. Called back to Dicks and told them they didn't arrive as promised. They then refused to give me a refund but offered a 20% discount on my next online order. Why would I want to order from you again if you are not true to your word? You lie to your customers. I can take my business elsewhere. Thanks for nothing. Beverly G. read more

I went to get running shoes and the process took 4c longer than it should have taken. No one was available to help me and I just stood around waiting for someone to just go grab me a pair of shoes. Once he got them he walked away and I had to wait another 15 minutes for him to come back out an ask if they were "good". I was the only person shopping in the shoe department and for no reason should have ha that issue. I unfortunately got tired of waiting and left the store...which sucks cause I needed shoes. I was really excited to order a Kayak from them ordering it was fine. They didnt have the one I needed in stock so I had the store order it for me. They said that it would take two weeks to get there which was good bc summer is here. I called when they said it would be ready and they said it wasnt in. I called every week for several weeks asking if it was in. They kept telling me not on this truck call back. Finally when it had been a month I called again and they told me that when i ordered it was out of stock and they had to get it from a manufacturer which takes longer and it would be in next week. Now its summer and no Kayak. I think that the people in this store have no clue what they are talking about and they all seem like they really dont care. Still waiting for my Kayak after it comes in I will not be back into the store again. read more
