This is my first visit to this Dick's Sporting Goods in Plantation. I felt like a movie celebrity as soon as I entered the store. First contact upon entering was delivered by the supervisor then each time I entered a section of the store I was again asked by staff if I required assistance. They offer many deep discounts weekly so you just have to keep checking in-store or online. They offer a mega sports section, Under Armor, bicycles, exercise equipment area and a huge section for golf enthusiasts including a putting green to try your swing with a new golf club. Manager Roberto, Cashier Rob, Server Julian. Upon entry I was made to feel welcomed by Rob. the store was immaculate, not a speck on the ground, I like that. Julian the server in the sneaker section was handling quite a few customers, but I still got his full attention, he was patient, thorough, and his insight as to what I needed was spot on. When I left I was comfortable with my first time Sneaker Purchase. Rob cashed me out, he was SO pleasant, made sure my profile was updated and even looked for discounts on my purchase. This store is designed in sections of sporting goods. I love how it's so clean, neat, and spacious. There's always at least 1 cashier on. I've been a few times and never not more than 1. I got helped by an employee but for the life of me cannot remember how to spell his name. He was very very very knowledgeable of the softballs and baseball equipment. He really helped us out for teeball equipment and gave his honest opinion. He did Not push us to purchase anything which was super nice. I hate that employees would say yes this is a good brand you have to get it. I did find everything was a little more expensive than Amazon but I guess that's what you get to take home the day of and see what the products actually are. read more

Dick's is probably the store wherev I spend the most amount of time..::and buy nothing for myself! I am not sure if I am the queen in a household of three men or a personal assistant! Either way, my husband and two teenage sons visit Dick's often for all sorts of stuff and I often end up accompanying them. Dick's is a huge sporting goods store (and more) in the Fountains Plaza. Dick's has a little bit from almost every sport and leisure activity: Football, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, fishing, kayaking, golf, etc. Plus there is lots of clothing and footwear. The one item I would be interested in would be the workout clothes but I find them to be nice but really expensive. We signed up for Dick's program and get points for discount cards. My we buy most of my kid's lacrosse gear online and their fishing stuff at Bass Pro, but there always seems to be something they need at the last minute so it's nice to have Dick's nearby. Now that Sports Authority closed, Dick's is really the only game in town when it comes to a full fledged sporting goods store. There is not a ton of salespeople at the store but whoever we have spoken to have been helpful. The checkout line can get long at times but it moves quickly. I have been planning to come here to try on rollerblades. I finally had the motivation and made it here. I believe this was my first time visiting this location. I have been to the store in Long Island several times and always found what I needed. The store is very spacious and sells almost everything can imagine regarding outdoor activities, sports, and fitness. I walked straight to the back first. Luckily, I headed in the right direction. I was distracted by the massive pile of clearance shoes so I stopped. I found a nice pair of bowling shoes and it had a price sticker for $20 so I took them. Luck was on my side for sure because the rollerblades were within 2 feet of that table. Unfortunately, there were 2 parents and a child in the rollerblade section trying on shoes forever so I was cramped and I hate that. There were a limited choices to choose from. The pair I wanted that was on display were nowhere to be found so I settled for a different pair. I found my size, tried them on, then made my way to check out. The cashier was pleasant. Unfortunately, the bowling shoes were not on sale so I declined them. The cashier looked up my membership and added it to the transaction. The rollerblades were a very decent price of $99. Better than Amazon and Walmart. I went again the following week because I changed my mind and wanted the bowling shoes. I looked everywhere and could not locate a bowling section. I found an employee and inquired about it and he said they do not sell any bowling equipment. I explained I had bowling shoes the prior week and he said people purchase items from the website, return them at the store, and the store sells them. 4/1- This is my go to sporting goods store. I usually shop for K-Tape and sports tape, weight lifting gloves. This is a huge store with everything an athlete or sports enthusiast can dream of. They have a great selection of sports apparel. They stated carrying Carrie Underwood's sportswear line. Even though they are pricey, they always have clearance items. It seems like they do not have enough staff for the size of the store but when you find someone they are usually very helpful. read more

One stop shop for sporting good needs. This is a large, well lit store in the Fountains Shopping Center. The store is very well organized from the minute you enter. Clothing in the center, baseball & basketball gear to the left and fishing, kayaks and shoes near the back. There is a wide selection of brands to choose from. The place is on the pricey side though. The clearance racks have some well priced stuff though. I was hoping to find some quick dry tops there but no luck this time. The store had a decent amount of customers for a Friday night. I just can't get into this store. Every time I go in here, their prices are astronomical compared to other places. They advertise "BIG SALE" but when you look at what's on sale, it is hardly a discount. You can get the same thing elsewhere for cheaper...always. The one time I did manage to purchase something there (because I needed it that day) the line was so slow moving I thought maybe a sloth was ringing every one up. Another great DSG location, and I'm very pleased to see that they're opening up more locations in South Florida. Long time ago, I had to drive all the way up to Palm Beach County to go to a DSG. Versus the competition (which is The Sports Authority) DSG is more organized, free of clutter and hires people that have more courtesy and knowledge. If you've experienced The Sports Authority, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. This location of DSG is fairly new, very well kept, stocked very well and has great ladies working the front end! I hope it stays this way! read more

I 'enjoy' going to Dicks because the store has a wide selection of sporting good for many different sports that my family & myself enjoy. We spend most of our time in the fishing & lacrosse areas. I do wish that they would do a better job stringing lacrosse sticks, maybe they should hire my 11 year old son to help. Their selection of lacrosse protection is not that big (mainly just STX & Warrior) which is something that they need to improve on. I like their fishing selections and their sale prices even more. Many people don't know they they also will line fishing reels in the back. I also wish they had a 'Big & Tall' clothing section. Not everyone is in chiseled and some of us need bigger sizes. I must admit, the staff is VERY helpful and they always want to do their best which is excellent. Their management team has always been top-notch. read more

Honestly next time I'll drive another 30/min north to pompano store because the fountains has extremely rude employees. Your cashier who had no name tag pretty girl long dreads or braids in her hair, was training Noah a new employee On June 8th Tuesday mid day. . She was so busy discussing how boring it was to be there and complain why he didn't have to the login to ring our transaction. There are plenty of people who would love her job. She was rude and completely ignored my son completely there was no welcome to Dicks or did you find everything you were looking for or even a thank you. the transaction was @ $44 i turned over to my son and said sarcastically oh thank you for shopping at Dicks, thinking she would catch on that her behavior was NOT acceptable but she didn't I should never as a customer hear negative remarks or unhappy employees. Big store, great variety of sports goods to choose from, Even some of the less popular ones like disc golf and lacrosse. Huge shoe dept. and lots of athletic clothes. Tons of things to look at. But, Dick's is very expensive. Look around here and then buy it somewhere else. There are some good clearance deals here and you can even use competitors coupons to make the discounts even better. Dick's made bicycle shopping easy and pleasurable. We had been to multiple independent bike shops throughout Broward, and none seemed to listen to what we were asking for, only offering super lightweight or high end bikes/parts. Dick's had a durable, reasonably priced hybrids with some of the same modern features (2 stars), but it also provided great service from purchasing the bike to tuning and maintaining it (2 more stars). I tend to abuse my running clothes so I tend to only go basic (i.e. Target) for that stuff, but I'd absolutely give a 5th star if they would put my Brooks Adrenalines on discount once and awhile. :-) read more

The discount section is very small, especially men's...I was hoping for more items. Women's on the other hand seem to be bigger, which might explain why more women shoppers here. I love everything about dicks except for the fact that they don't do enough in store coupons, everything is mostly online. But my experience this past Friday was extra great! I saw a cooler I wanted online and it wouldn't let me curbside pickup for some reason so I went to the store, it said there was one left. I was greeted by Zyshawn who was friendly and eager to help. We didn't see the exact cooler I was after it he didn't stop and found it for me! I was so happy, Zyshawn was so helpful. I know there was a survey that dicks actually did but my receipt got ruined by water and I was unable to enter it into the website. If I ask the cashier before purchase if the item is returnable, and he says yes, then find out it isn't when attempting to return it - unused and in original packaging with my receipt 2 weeks later - then that makes them dicks. This review regards an experience with one employee. The store is great and most of the employees are friendly and helpful. However Brunilla (if I'm spelling it correctly) was extremely rude and not helpful at all. I haven't encountered such poor customer service in some time. She was not only rude to me, but to other customers as well. Nasty attitude, not willing to help, even cut me off in the middle of my sentence and walked away stone faced. Doesn't even look at customers when they talk to her. The number one Dicks store is in Danvers MA. Hey this place is number two in my book. You can find almost anything you want. They have plenty of sales going on. Close out merchandise. And I love the weekend sales flyer. You can buy online and the service is pretty good all around. Sales staff is competent and friendly. Very poor sales service in weight lifting department!! I visited Dick's in Plantation today, 11/16/15, in the mid-afternoon. I was looking for weight lifting gloves (wig) for women. I asked for their location and I was told by a female associate on the store front, that they were in the store rear and that there was an associate in the department. I went there, found the gloves and began waiting for an associate-there was no help anywhere-I waited 10 minutes. I returned to store front, to the same female associate and verbally requested assistance in the wlg area and she said she would request that someone go there. I returned rear store, began trying on some wig and still no sales associate came there-I waited another 10 to 15 minutes. I would have bought the wlg with some product support and assistance. They lost a sale and I will most likely not go there again. I reported the incident to the manager at store front. He apologized and said that the the sales associate was on the telephone. read more
