Horrible customer service! No help in shoe department; staff just standing around. Left and will never go back.

Awful service. There employees clearly know nothing and they give customers false information. I DO NOT recommend shopping here and hope you don't give your money to this Dicks sporting goods location.... I ordered cleats that were supposed to arrive 2 days later after talking with an employee. I later find out that they aren't going to arrive for another 3 weeks. The only reason I ordered was from them because of the fast shipment. I cannot cancel this order and really need these cleats asap. Never again. read more

Good selection of items. I've found great athletic apparel here. Shoe selection is pretty good. The issue here is the service. You have to track down the employees. I asked to see two shoes, each from a different employee. The first shoe I asked for NEVER CAME OUT. The second shoe took a very long time to get out. One I finally tried it on it was too small for me so I wanted to try the next size up but noooooo clearly that's too much to ask. No one ever came back and neither will I. read more

This store has a great selection of products but staff is unwilling to help the customer. Mainly in the shoe department. I asked for help and was told they didn't have wrestling shoes found them and while I was looking the staff looked over at me and were only interested is speaking with each other. read more

Having a sign at the door mandating masks doesn't get enforced. Despite the sign and several employees throughout the store who could be enforcing safety precautions, I just witnessed at least 20-25 people on a Sunday afternoon here not wearing masks. Ok, fine. Until a group of teenage boys NOT wearing masks, turn into my face and coughed directly towards me, mouth wide open, as I tried to walk behind them to get on the escalator. I am utterly disgusted and while I know this store is not responsible for these teenagers' actions, they certainly don't enforce safety like promised, which encourages this disgusting behavior. I went to the Dick's Sporting Goods in the West End today and went to go in the main entrance towards the mall and the door was locked. Several customers were trying to get in also. I looked through the glass to the left and a younger dude at the register was standing there and instead of opening the door or calling a manager he pushed a cart towards the door and left that there. read more

Yesterday had a bad service experience at Dicks from no less than 4 people! I stood in the shoe section, having already picked out a shoe I wanted, and politely waved down three different people over a 20 minute period. Each one barely looked my way and said they'd get back to me. None did. Finally I actually got someone to pay attention but he really didn't. Never looked me in the eyes. Looked like he was smiling at someone else in the distance and I was simply a distraction. When he determined the shoe I wanted wasn't available in the size/color I wanted he casually said he could order it and it would be there in two days. Again, never looking at me, always looking in the distance. Was it a friend? A good looking woman? I don't know. But I can tell you my $100 purchase didn't matter a bit to him. No thanks. Went upstairs to L.L. Bean. They were nice, helpful and I spent my money there. read more

Wow. I couldn't be more underwhelmed with the service here. I stood around waiting for a sales person to appear. Finally, I pressed the closest button only to have the person who did appear roll her eyes at me when she found out I wasn't interested in apparel. I had to wait around a while for someone else to appear. This salesperson actually was attentive, but he didn't seem to know anything about his own department. I never felt like I was an interruption of someone's day while shopping before. Don't these people know that I am the reason they are there? (Apparently not). read more

I would not recommend this Dick's Sporting Goods! Horrible customer service experienced at this particular location. The sales associate "Caroline" made me feel as if I was interrupting her day, when it was time to purchase my merchandise. I arrived at the register, she stood there like a dead fish. I go to this Dick's fairly often and almost exclusively buy only from the sale rack. Their prices are way too high otherwise, although they do have brands that are less expensive than the exorbitantly priced Nike and Under Armour. But if you want the "cute" workout gear, you're gonna pay a premium for it wherever you buy it. It's an anchor store at Short Pump Town Center, so you don't have to go INside the mall to enter if you don't want to. They have everything you'd expect them to have. read more

Watch your back - they happily processed payment on a pair of shirts and a football on Black Friday, but only shipped the ball! After waiting a while for the shirts to show up I called them, they tried to blame fedex before refunding the money. Would not honor black friday sale or offer any expedited shipping. Don't bother calling customer service, not empowered to help you at all, just offer plenty of apologies. read more

My mom & I came in at 8:45pm in search of a pair of quality running shoes. I know I was THAT customer, but the guy in the shoe department was extremely helpful. He dropped everything he was doing & went through 5 pairs of shoes until we found the right one. He gave great recommendations, was honest about each brand, and clearly wanted me to get the most out of my purchase. No up-selling, no BSing - just great service. read more

Went in yesterday in specifically to buy shoes. I knew precisely what I needed, but couldnt get help. Literally I was ready to hand them $125 and run out the door. When I finally located my brand after 10 mins I hunted down a staffer who was joking around with friends to ask where I can find it in the stacks. Once located, do you guys have this in a "Wide". No, they don't make it in a "Wide". Really? I took off the shoe I was wearing, what does that say? I entertained the thought of another size for a moment, but knew I would be miserable for 3-4 month if I settled due to bad service. By the way listen to another staffer Try to sell a shoe to someone purely on the Brand without a concern for what the person actually needed in a shoe or how their feet react to a surface. Staff are too lazy to check in the store room for you and tell you that: 1) the item is not in stock 2) if it is in stock, the item is lost 3) the system may not be accurate Who manages this place?!?! read more

Good Afternoon: The experience at the Shortpump location have been less than stellar. You have employees who are nasty and disrespectful and managers who let there line workers get turn an eye and act as though, they don't see how their employees treat customers, with the utmost lack of respect. Victoria a cashier for example, think that she runs the floor, but little does she know she's only a Fucking Cashier, making the minimum wage...I am tired of spending hrd earn money and dealing with these young people attitudes, like a customer owe them something...If you want to be baby sat, stay home with your mother.... Either the manager's don't care about the brand or they're just glad they have an employee who comes to work and that is very sad... I am thankful for Carl and Janice at the Glen Allen location. If I were consumers, I would only spend my money at the Glen Allen location. At least they treat you with respect... read more

Over priced, and (oddly for a sporting goods store) too slavishly devoted to fashion trends. I couldn't find a pair of men's workout shorts that met my two simple criteria of being under $40 and hitting above the knee. The store was also poorly organized. It was strangely difficult to find things; sale signs were posted on every other rack, but 3/4 of the items on these racks didn't actually seem to be on sale; similar items are not placed with one another -- instead, much of the store is sorted by brand, forcing you to look through a quarter of the store to comparison shop for a single item. All that being said, it is one stop shopping for all your sporting needs, from golf to guns. read more

I get a lot of my sporting apparel at Dick's Sporting Good. This Dick's Sporting Good is very spacious. I usually can find the sports apparel I'm looking for in the store. The Northface section is huge. They keep the Northface section fully stocked. This Dick's Sporting Good has a very huge sales section for men and women. You usually can find good deals in the sales section. The employees are friendly and very helpful.Theres parking in front of the store or you can park anywhere at the mall to get to the store. If you have sporting apparel needs, Dick's Sporting Good is a good choice. read more

I went to this specific store 3 months ago to try and refill a co2 tank for my son to play paintball, and they said that their regulator broke and I just went back there yesterday because I was in a rush and the man said the same thing. Three months later and this Dick's is still having issues. An employee who wasn't focused on her job forgot to remove the theft protection things from several items of clothing. A manager (who by the way saw me in line paying for my items in the same check out that he just left helping the same employee with a customer return) yells for me to STOP!!!! from across the store as the 'alarm' was going off. He comes over... grabs the bag from me... goes over to another register... proceeds to take item after item out of the bag- 5 pairs of boy's shorts 2 boy's shirts, compares each item to the receipt one by one, then proceeds to take the protection things off of the clothing. Mid-way thru he yells over "M'am! Come over here!! I look at him as if he's lost his fool mind and told him I was staying where I was! As he was walking back across the store to return the bag to me, he never once apologized for his employee's incompetence. When I mentioned to him that I had paid for all of my items, he said- "This wasn't about if you paid for the items, it was about if she took off the theft things". So I looked at him and asked "Then why did you continue to look at the receipt over and over and over again if it wasn't about me paying for them?" With a goofy look on his face he stated: "I was just making sure she didn't make a mistake". BS!! Typically, when employees forget to take off those things, someone takes them off and sends you on your merry way. This so-called manager, spent at least 10 minutes STEREOTYPING by examining the receipt in plain view! Even at Costco, they're smart enough to quickly count and compare the number of items in your cart to your receipt. They don't go one-by-one for 10 minutes, checking and comparing prices, labels, or whatever he was doing??!! Let's see what this looks like in 3 more months from now. I will continue to shop at Dicks AND I will continue to complete surveys AND I will continue to write these reviews to put these people on notice that this behavior will not be tolerated! At all! Went there on a Sunday to buy new running shoes. Plenty of sales people in the shoe department, but I had to go up to one that was standing around talking to other sales people to ask for 2 pair of shoes. He brought them out and walked away. One pair was the wrong shoe, but he never came back to check with me, so I left the boxes and walked away. Very poor service, wont go back again. read more

Abysmal service. Nobody here cares if they have your business. Today was the last day I try to buy shoes (or anything) at Dick's. You select shoes and wait, and wait, and wait and it takes forever to get someone to help you. Then that one person who is working in shoes is helping 5 others at the same time (in between hanging out in the back doing nothing because half the time there is nobody in shoes), so they finally bring your shoes and immediately disappear and God help you if you should need another size (which they won't have) or to try another style. Today we waited so long for help that I had to call the store from my phone and ask them to send someone. The man who finally "helped" us couldn't be bothered to even come around the other side of the seat where my son was standing to measure his foot. He stood over there and said "stick your foot in that thing", then insisted my son should wear a size 2 - we were there because his toes are bursting out of his size 2 Nikes. He would have known that had he bothered to actually look at the measuring device. When he finally brought some shoes, he put down the boxes and disappeared. Don't expect anyone to even so much as open the box for you at this place. I was thrilled when my alarm for my daughter's tennis lesson sounded and we had no time to buy anything. I ordered my son's Steph Curry A3 shoes in the car directly from the Under Armour website in a fraction of the time I wasted at this dump.
