I was there 31st-March, with my son to find shoes at this store. I don't normally comment about trips in stores, but felt the need this time. While their employee was looking for my son's size, turned out the 2 styles he was interested in, didn't have them in 12 for either. When I told my son to take a picture of the info and shoe so he could look later at the online site, your employee laughed and told us... "Not for another 8yrs." And then proceeded to go on a long rant that thanks to the president, everything's messed up and now with this war. Going on and on. I do not come to a store to be lectured about how much an employee hates the president or what he feels the state our country is in and how nothing's going to be right again till the Republicans are gone. I took as much as I could till I finally mentioned, "This is what I voted for". At which he got pissed & huffed away. But not before he said.... Well I better not get reenlisted in this war, or I might take him out myself". This, because in his rant was talking about the president starting the war. Then he walked away, cussing the entire time. Including catching the word `b!+@%`. Though I do not know if that e for me or 'son of' was added first. I did not catch his name, but he was an older man with dark skin and white hair, with not an actual beard, just white stubble, and about to 6'. This was at 10:20am at the 11550 Lakeridge PARKWAY, Ashland store. So many things were wrong with him and this visit. From his ranting about his political views, the 'war' he feels we're in, that the company won't even be getting in any new shoes due to "Everything being closed down", to saying he would murder the president of the United States, to them cussing at/about me as he walked away, but more than loud enough for us both hear. As a note? I don't wear political items, and I will never bring up politics to a complete stranger. So I most definitely did not start him on his tirade. He walked up to us in the shoe department, and very shortly started in. Very disappointed to see such bad character, and vocalizating about killing our president. Not amused at all. Especially as we had to drive 45miles each way just to visit the shop. Will NEVER visit this store again. Especially when I can go to another huge store just like it down the street. read more

This is a large store(two levels) and plenty of parking. I like to go here and just look around. They have pretty much anything you would need for an outdoor experience. I have bought pants and shirts from here for a decent price, plus they give a military discount. They also have plenty of staff around to assist if needed. read more

The staff are helpful, though it can be hard to track someone down in the store, which is very large. Prices also vary; I believe that it is best to know what you're looking for when you go in, otherwise you are likely to spend more than planned. read more

Sooo Inplaced an online order for a sterno stove and Bass Pro was the only place that had it at a reasonable price. A friend of mine picked it up and said ya gotta come To this store. I live in FXBG so it's not far but not close. So we went for a field trip. The store has a lot but does have very specific "brands" also they are not inexpensive. Lots of higher quality items and I would choose them over REI if you are serious. The staff was pleasant enough...... the restaurant will be a separate review. Their camping section was hmmmm better than ok but I would shop around and then decide. Better than ok and 4 stars for the helpful staff. The restaurant..... nice atmosphere, clean bathrooms, Elizabeth our waitress was super friendly and engaging. Almost too engaging as she used profanity 3x. One being the "f" word. I know some may argue it's only a word and times are changing but it's tacky. Too bad cause I enjoyed her overall. The food was "ok" my fried fish was over cooked, my friends shrimp was overly battered, nuttin special. We sat near the fireplace because looking at a dirty fish tank at the bar wasn't appetizing. pretty disappointed, really. needed new kayaks for my wife & me. you go to a big, big store because of the selection, right?? not in this case. maybe kayaks are just not in their sweet spot. looked like good selection in fishing tackle & lures, but didn't look very closely. bunch of bass boats, but minimal selection for anything smaller or quieter. talked to a staff member. not very knowledgeable. everyone was friendly, but not super helpful in terms of knowing how to help. a shame. read more

Interstate 95 is a headache. This is just off of the parking lot. It's decent for a rest though. Us anglers and hunters need a diversion. There's bathrooms and water fountains. Also there's fish to look at. What more can a growing guy need? Friendly employees and customer service. They do seem to be short staffed, but this is quite common the days. You can do well with their fishing equipment and supplies. Clothing has some occasional deals. Camping is a bit overpriced. If you're in the area, it's worth coming over here. read more

Such a neat place to visit. It has been years since we stopped in but we had some time to kill before an appointment in Richmond. They have a good variety of items in the store and lots to look at. Friends and I had lunch here a couple of days ago. The service was excellent as was the food. I ordered fish and chips - something I don't usually do because I'm a Brit and they are always disappointing - but the dish was really good and would have easily fed two for lunch. I took half of my lunch home and my husband and I finished it for dinner. I'm in that area for Dog shows several times per year, and now I know where to eat because so far most places near the shows are pretty dismal. read more

This is an outdoorsman's paradise! How is it possible that I've never been here before today?! THEY HAVE EVERYTHING! When I say everything, I mean everything needed for outdoor adventures from hot sauce to boats. Grills, cast iron skillets, hiking boots, sleeping bags, guns, fudge... whatever you want! The huge salt water fish tank is GORGEOUS with the most exotic of fish. They even have an indoor waterfall with more live fish. The most fun was at the "shooting range" where the man and I competed for the highest score. Scores over 500 make you a hotshot. We both earned that distinction. So much fun! They even have a restaurant that has a decent menu! We ate an appetizer of alligator bites and an entree of catfish, shrimp and asparagus. Mark up products and then claim theres a sale! they took the original price sticker of an underarmour item and placed a orange sale sticker over the original price and added it to clearance section. after removing sales tag for $18.97 found out the original sticker price was $12.50 . This is a ginormous, two stories, Bass Pro Shop, it was very clean, uncluttered, well organized, and you could easily find what you were shopping for. What I felt was surprising was the lack of available staff to answer questions. We were looking at kayaks, which they have a really nice selection of, however no employees around to assist. My BF is 6 ft 3 and we wanted to see how he would fit in a few of these. Another couple was there shopping and had similar concern and it was well over 5 minutes, maybe 10, before an employee was up to assist. What more could you want from an outdoor store? They seem to multiple brands and selections for just about everything. At the height of the summer, not much on sale though. If you walk around you will see a lot of clothes for men, women and children. They have an extensive selection of Columbia brand. They also have a restaurant called the Islamorada inside the store. They serve fish and other entrees. I checked out the menu but didn't eat there. The fresh fish tank in the back is huge! The word is the catfish is a state record catch that is from a nearby lake. read more

They staid open late for me. Yulia, Howard, and Jeff all were wonderful. I walked in at 8:50pm because I was running around doing errands and I still had to exchange two Belts for different sizes. They helped me find the belts and get the right sizes and then did the exchange. They even explained the credit card and we might get one. Awesome store and staff. read more

I came into this location with my family at about 11 30 am on a Saturday. The facility looks clean and well kept. There were several friendly staff members available throughout the facility. While waiting for the firearms background check we were able to make it through the Santa portrait section. It's very well put together and staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They went out of their way to try and accommodate our special needs child which was appreciated. The firearms section did grow increasingly busy the longer we were there. Staff was still very friendly and doing their best despite some of the crowd growing frustrated. We were able to get some great deals on things for our kids for Christmas. There are a lot of options for the whole family. We would both recommend and return. read more

I called ahead to see what protocols were in place to visit the store. I let the rep know that I was en route to making a purchase and what I was looking for. I'm a member of a shooting range so I wanted to have my own handgun to use rather rent. Unfortunately my first gun buying experience was ruined by an employee at the top floor gun department named ALEX. A short haired Caucasian female who has a redneck accent. She decided to refuse to sell me the firearm because my boyfriend who's a gun enthusiast came along with me and she said she was "suspicious" because he was joining in on the conversation, grabbing ammo for me and i was bouncing my leg up and down??? Suspicious of what? That I have anxiety randomly? That my boyfriend does infact know more about guns that me and most likely your hillbilly ass? I'm a 21 harmless female looking for a self defense/gun range handgun I think looks awesome. Yet she was being a flirty and friendly employee to the customer that was right next to us to no surprise who also had a redneck accent and looked straight out of a country music video but when she saw me and my boyfriend?
