Worst service that I've ever encountered. I called and spoke to Maggie. She was nice enough over the phone and I told her I'd be in to purchase an item. When I arrived a nice gentleman greeted me, I asked for Maggie and he told me where to look for the items that I wanted. He said he would be back to help me. He never showed not did he tell Maggie that I was there. I was losing patience waiting for the guy so I began to look in the next dept. The guy was finally back but showing me customers equipment. He never did help me or two Maggie I was there. When another store associate asked if I needed help, I told her that I spoke to Maggie. The store associate was actually willing to get Maggie. Hi so I love this store but some employees that work in the back need to be retrained and learn some basic manners. My husband was in the Nike men's section looking at Shirts around 7:15-7:30pm when an associate asked if we needed help finding a size but she had an annoyed look on her face and my husband changed his mind because of how rude she was and she asked if he wanted that shirt he was looking at. He said no n she right away grabbed it n folded it n looked very annoyed as if that's not her job to do. She also invaded his personal space when she grabbed the shirt n folded it. Today i went in to Dick's in Stockton. I was shopping for golf gear for my father in law Christmas Eve morning and i must have waited 15 minutes for help and NEVER WAS HELPED! I sat there and waited for the golf "expert" who worked in the golf area to finish story telling how he is such a pro and golfed in high school and college... yet he's working at dick's... i kept waiting and waiting and he saw me the entire time so enough was enough so i set the things i was interested in also purchasing down and as i walked off i can hear the customer say okay thank you and walk off. Dear DICK'S Sporting Goods, I don't even know in what labyrinth of my brain to start at. My experience at this local establishment was unfounded, irredeemable, and quite literally - outrageous. After spending nearly half an hour here working out my shoulders in the weight section, I began strolling the store looking for goods. Besides the fact that this place is a maze - no sorry, a labyrinth - everything went swimmingly. However, when my eyes glanced upon the checkout, I was met with a hideous sight. The line stretched miles on miles all the way out to Weberstown Mall. I was shocked, bewildered, and quite literally befuzzled. After waiting in line for nearly 5 hours, we finally got to the checkout. I would like to mention here that there were approximately 2 and I will say again TWO! workers at the checkout. The line was as long as summer in ohio, yet all the workers were simply standing around chatting about who knows whatsabout, maybe this tik tok shenanigans I keep hearing about? Who knows. At least they're pretty. We finally were able to walk out the store after dealing with a worker who simply did not want to smile. On top of that when I went to check out, the secret shopper or assets protection was all weird guarding the door and talking on the walkie with the cashier "Oh he brought it up he didn't run." Very unprofessional manager on sight should review their policies in initiating assets protection. They all were acting rude not even friendly like I was stealing something. Yes stockton has a bad name but I never thought a chain retain store that I have poured my money into would ever treat me and my elder mother so horribly. Here goes my experience..... on 4/13 grandma purchased a pair of cleats for my son. We were out at a game and he had no other choice then to wear them snug. On 4/14 we went to see if we could possibly return them and grandma went to try to return and I went to see if they had another size. Mind you we split up because of time for the next game. We are in tournament. So my sons 77 year old grandma was told she could not return them so she went to the back of the store (cleats section) to find me. The store called security on her and she had 4 associates on her while she walked to find me. At one point one associate said she cannot return them. I said didn't you just hear her tell me that and didn't you hear her say I'm buying him another pair anyway which means she will be spending another 140.00 The lady rolled her eyes at me. By the time we got to the line to pay security is now at front and the guy on the stool in the front is saying " this lady came in and the older one went to the counter. the other lady darted to the the back." I was not quiet I said I did what! then grandma was like what is going on I said all 7 associates and 2 security are for us. They think we are going to steal shoes. She was shocked and said we are not. Can't they see we are in line to pay. Forced to buy these shoes because my son needed them, the nice register guy Joel said I'm so sorry and yes I see what is going on and he gave us corporate number. He was the same person who helped us the day before. To the staff know your audience and don't talk about your assumptions in front of us! Amazing customer service! Dan the manager in the cycling department was outstanding today. I called to get advice over the phone. He advised me to bring my bike into the store. I did and he was outstanding!! He removed my kickstand, serviced my bike, removed my reflector, and gave me free patches. The services he provided for me was free of charge as well. I purchased two air mattresses a few weeks ago. I went to the DICK'S Stockton store to return the items. I opened one of the boxes, however, it was not used at all. According to Dick's return policies, any open boxes could not be returned, understandable, although the store employees could not provide me with the "written return policies". The second air mattress was not open, but they could only return $10. 89 dollars of the $80.00 dollars I paid for each of the air mattresses. The teller told me that if I returned the air mattress and received the $10.89 dollars they would resale the item for $80 dollars at the store. No wonder they are the DICK'S store! read more

Dick's Sporting goods located in the Sherwood Mall in Stockton, California. I came to check things out several times just to see what type of merchandise they had in stock. My son is pretty active in high school sports football, wrestling and basketball. Everytime I come here I'm greeted by a sales rep. I really do appreciate that and I do like that. So what brought us here the other day I was looking for some wrestling shoes for my son. When we arrived we were looking at the shoes it's a small selection but you could also order some online. We were helped that evening by Jada. She explained to me that if we don't find the shoes we like here. We could go to their catalogue and order some and they'll be there within 3 days free shipping to the store. But we need needed them by this Saturday because my son was in a wrestling tournament. He found a great pair of Adidas wrestling shoes for $59.99. Tip: Free WiFi So how was my experience here? Each time that I visited has been great. So yeah we'll be back soon. Since Sports Chalet and Sports Authority have closed, this chain of stores is more important. They have a good selection of camoflauge jackets and backpacks and other outdoor gear. The prices are full retail, as expected but at least, they have the items available. read more

I needed a bat for my youngest. A good bat is an investment. I wanted to make sure I'd get a quality bat from a good store. We are situated between two different Dick's stores. Roughly 50 minutes away from each. I called both stores ahead of time, and after speaking with Jeremy at the Stockton location, I knew I wanted to give them my business. Jeremy was polite, understood my needs, and checked stock while on the phone with me. Ran out there within the hour and purchased a bat and some practice shirts. She was so kind and helpful. I recently purchased a bike from here and before they could give it me, they had to fix it and check it since it was just a display. I was told I had to pick it up the next day since it would take a while, but my dad had work so I wasn't able to come back anytime soon. An unexpected trip to the snow a few days after Christmas. Eeek! Good luck finding stuff for the little one. I stopped at Big 5 (big mistake) but thankfully made it out here. Should've stopped here first. Found a cute Columbia snow jacket for the little one (a little big but will fit her next year) and a pair of pants for her. The only items that I couldn't find were shoes and gloves for her but the cashier gave me a few ideas on where I might be able to find. While there was little for women and men, there seemed to be plenty of sizes available for kids. I'm not sure why that was but both my sister and I found stuff for our littles here where we couldn't find anything elsewhere. If I can't find a sports item at other stores, I can usually find it at Dick's. Ant that's why I usually go to Dick's for a brick-&-mortar sporting goods store. But there is only one thing I don't like: their prices. Big 5 is a little cheaper, but I sometimes feel claustrophobic when I'm walking among their tightly packed merchandise. Just got my cross country spikes a day earlier than expected. There were three interactions, greeting/good day same cashier, and the guy who took care of my business start to finish. He said there were none out as the season just began and spikes are not a prominent item. But he did offer to go on-line and order for me shipped direct to my address. He asked if the shipping address would be the same as my billing address, I replied you do accept cash tender? On-line requires card payment, rather then letting this be a deal breaker he immediately went proactive and offered to put the tender on a gift card and to use that. I am uniquely suited to do this type transaction on-line, most people need to try on shoes, I know my feet and size needs especially in my go-to brand which we were using, I ordered size twelve and am super stoked. Just an FYI. We bought a exercise bike for 500 dollars from this Dicks. Online it said that there was limited stock, but did not say we were purchasing a floor model. After we purchased the bike online, the store called to tell us it was a floor model. They gave us two options , return the bike or keep it with out any discounts. I get that everything is running different with Covid-19, but this is unacceptable. Why would you allow someone buy something without telling a customer it's a floor model? This is disappointing, especially when your customer is expecting a brand new product. Very upset with the customer service at this store. read more

During the time he was looking we could hear a manager going off on an associate to the point of abusive. Poor girl was almost in tears. We needed assistance and she was almost in tears and kept telling me how sorry she was that we had to witness that. I refuse to buy anything from a store who allows their management team to treat people like that. Nice new store, but sadly, they don't cater to the my demographic. That's basically what I was told when I went in to shop for winter sports gear, because you know, it's winter time, and that's kinds of sports one typically participates in during winter. Today, I went in to buy snowboarding gear, as I was walking through the store, I reached the hunting section, I had yet to see the snowboard/ski section, and as I looked around, I saw no sign of a snowboard/ski section as I would in an REI, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, etc. I then flagged down a sales associate and asked, he himself was not sure when the ski/snowboard section was. He called it in on his radio and was told what he told me, we don't have that stuff here because it's not our demographic here. I can't believe that a chain that dares to put "sporting goods" in their name refuses to sell certain sports gear because they don't want to support the demographic that typically supports those certain sports. I'm glad REI opened up late today, it forced me to go to Dick's and it gave me the opportunity to see the true Dick's Sporting Goods. Apparently, Dick's Sporting Goods is trying to really break into the Nor-Cal market, this is not the way to do it. It boggles the mind that one can walk into a sporting goods store during winter, and not be able to find winter sporting goods. I will definitely be telling this to my Lodi friends, most of whom like me are really into snow sports, Dick's Sporting Goods isn't for us apparently, but that's okay, we have REI and Sports Authority. Some may say I'm being too harsh with just 1 star, but how can I give it anything else when they refuse to sell the product that I'm looking for.
