This place is great!…read more Just recently found it, but this Broad Ripple outdoorsy shop has been around for quite some time. There's a front and back entrance, the back has 1-2 reserved parking spots. It's a fairly small place but packed with stuff: sleeping bags to keep you warm in the mountains, apparel from brands like Patagonia, water bottles, candles that smell amazing, camping chairs, knives, and more! The customer service is out of this world. Multiple folks working, all really friendly. When you ask to see something from the case, they answer questions about the product t but don't try to sell it - thank god, that is annoying and it's nice to not have that pressure. They sell quality items so their sales folk don't really have to hustle like that. Anyways, very pleasant experience!

Everyone at the store is very helpful and knowledgeable. My last visit I bought Lowa hiking boots. Knew nothing about the brand before walking in. Felt confident I made the right purchase as I walked out. Stop by the store and warm your hands by the fire outside or go inside to visit with the friendly shop dog. No one is going to rush you.

I came over to Northface to find a light weight running jacket. I had one, but left it on a plane,…read moreand it was my favorite jacket. You know, the kind of jacket that you bond with and becomes your identity. I was attached to the damn thing. Anyway, I tried shopping on line, but it's difficult to tell the material and thickness of a clothing item unless you actually feel it. So, I was happy to find a brick and mortar option dedicated to Northface. Anyway, a clerk was welcoming and offered to help me. They had lots of heavy, hiking jackets. But not what I was looking for. The clerk told me I could find more options on line. Dang. So I left empty handed and disappointed. But the store is nice if you are looking for Artic wear. Prices are high, but the clothes wear well and are constructed beautifully. Visit mid week, to find easy parking and no crowds.

Caveat - I HATE shopping and I HATE raincoats - so was not looking forward to the trip. However, Jocelyn made our shopping experience painless - she was knowledgeable and very friendly. She showed me the options and explained how each were different. She allowed us to chat but checked back frequently enough that we felt taken care of. Raincoat and a sweet water bottle carrier secured - perfect for our hikes, trips, and concert season. Is it cheap? Nope. But I feel you get what you pay for. My hubs has had his same North Face rain jacket for almost 15 years, and he swears by North Face rain gear for the quality. Jocelyn also explained that all of their products are guaranteed against manufacturers defects for life - so you just have to bring it in and they will replace it. Sweet. Also, while it might be boring to some, I like that the styles and colors never really go out of style with tNF. I have had most of my tNF pieces since college and they are still kicking (shout out to my first Denali!). Of note, if it has been a minute since you have visited The North Face in the Fashion Mall, they are now in a smaller space upstairs - no longer beside the Apple Store space on the first floor.

I was in the fishing sections for more than 20 minutes and no conversation was had between us. I'm guessing customer service is not a part of jobs today. I've been in there twice this month and the only conversation had is between myself and the checkout guy. Matt who says he's new to Sportsman gives me plenty of conversation, but it's a shame I have to wait until I'm about to check out.

I went to an area and magically this worker appears acting like he's looking at stuff. He is just touching stuff, no machine in his hand and he is not putting anything away. I was like okay, maybe he is just working another day. Again, I'm pretty much the only person in the store on a different day. I come in, go to this area where nobody's around and all of a sudden boom! Another guy pops up acting like he's touching stuff with no machine in his hand, not putting anything away, just standing there right next to me for about 5 minutes. A week later I come back again. Literally the only person, they just opened the store hour, I walk in, go to the back fishing section and another person magically pops up right next to me doing nothing for about 5 minutes again. So I'm like okay now. I think they're spying on me. Probably think I'm trying to steal something. Lastly, I walk into the store again when they just open. I'm the only one here. They're all at the counter Just talking laughing having a good time. I walk back to the boat section within 1 minute boom. Yep another guy just shows up no machine in his hand, no products in his hand, he's not putting anything away, he is just touching stuff with his finger tips. I'm not usually one to think that they're following me because I'm not white, but... this would really be the only time in my life I've ever experienced this. First time, okay, second then third time, something's going on, but four times now. Yeah, they're shopper watching to make sure I'm not stealing something. It's not a coincidence anymore. Least they could do is act like they were actually doing something.
