I've been going to Dicks for many years, when the father ran the business. They haven't changed after all these years. They are personable, professional, and hard working delivering a high level of customer service. I just purchased 4 new tires, and they were the best price as usual. I went back for the free lig nut check and they dropped everything and came right out to inspect. I had them fix a slow leaking tire that had been driving me crazy all summer and then had them swap over 4 tires onto wheels I brought in. I have to say I am impressed with Dicks Tire Barn out of Charlton Ma! I have been to them a few times through the years and I have come to realize that they are worth the drive to do business! A well oiled machine!! They do business as a first come first serve basis. I don't know about tires much. Been interested in learning auto repair but I was never involved in it and don't have the know how so I told them I wanted a nice all weather tires that's chunky and is good in the snow. So they suggested tires for me and I went with it. They ordered the tires I wanted told me they would be in my Thursday and they were and called me and left me a voice mail to follow through and let me know my tires came in. And I asked them if I could come Saturday. They said yes told me the hours and said it's a first come first serve basis. They opened at 8:30. I arrived there at 8:15 am and there was already a full parking lot of at-least 6 different people waiting to be seen. It's tight parking there, especially if people don't park the way that they should to be respectful of others but I did find a place to be. A nice gentleman came out with a clip board at 8:30 and went to all the people waiting and got us all "in Line' he came to me and told me there would be about an hour wait. I have no idea how long I waited but it wasn't long. I parked in the garage and went to the waiting area. I don't even think I was waiting 20 minutes. They were fast and efficient. One of the guys explained their guarantee and pointed out all the info I needed to see about the guarantee on the tires. Rotation and lug nut tightening at so many miles and so on. He was very good at explaining everything!! Their prices seemed very fair. The service was amazing and the staff was very friendly. You could tell they loved their jobs and were proud of their work. Again I say a "well oiled machine". I am for sure returning to Dicks Tire Barn and I am going to tell my friends about this place! Superb! The Employees should be very proud of themselves! Wonderful positive can do attitudes! A++ I will also note that there was a female worker part of their team which made me happy to see! She was working along with the team and doing an excellent job. On Thursday, my daughter hit a curb which caused a cut in the side wall of her right front tire and when she came out after work, she discovered she had a flat tire. AAA came to put on the spare but she needed a new tire to replace the damaged one. Since she is teaching a summer program and also in a play this week, she really needs her car and couldn't drive on the spare for very long so I wanted to help her get the tire replaced ASAP. My local tire guy is only open Mon-Fri so I had to look for other options who were open on the weekend. I tried calling both of the BJ's Tire Centers near where I live and neither one had any appointments available for several days. So, I came onto Yelp to try to find another option and found Dick's Tire Barn in Charlton had several excellent reviews so I decided to give them a call even though it was a 30+ minute drive from our home in Westborough. The vehicle is a 2018 Honda CR-V with OEM Bridgestone Ecopia tires and when I explained the situation to the person with whom I spoke at Dick's, he said that they didn't stock Bridgestone but could get a replacement from their distributor but it would take a few days. So he offered another option from a different brand that they do stock (General Tire) but he wasn't thrilled about that option because he said it is not ideal to mix tire brands. So he said, "It's a long shot, but let me see if I have a used Bridgestone Ecopia available." He came back a few minutes later with the good news - he had one in the right size for her CR-V! My daughter and I made the trip out to Charlton early Saturday morning - they open at 8:30 AM but it's "first come, first served" so we got there around 8:20 and were second in line. They took us quickly and we were on our way in less than an hour. All of the young people who worked there, as well as the person who I assume was either the owner or his son, were extremely polite and helpful. The final cost was only $61, including disposal of the old tire, which is a heck of a lot less than $200+ for a brand new tire. When you pull up to Dick's, don't be intimidated by the appearance - it's not a sparkling clean national chain store. But it's a place where the people know their business and know how to treat customers right. Last but not least, they have several cute, friendly dogs who helped us pass the wait time playing with them and scratching them behind the ears. What more can you ask for? We were passing through from out of town and our car tire got punctured a block away from Dick's Tire Barn. AAA dropped my call twice before I realized on the map that Dick's was nearby. They were near closing but they quickly came to help us take off the tire, carry it back, repair it in 15 min, and put it back on for $30 (up and down a steep hill too so above and beyond). I was prepared to have our weekend visiting family completely thrown off looking for a new tire but they saved us time, money, and peace of mind. While heading from New York to Boston to pick up my son from college due to the covid-19 shutdown, I caught a flat tire. So not only was I traveling alone, I get a flat tire, in an area I am not familiar with and during a time when everyone is advised to stay away from each other. I found Dicks Tire Barn online and called to see if they were even open. A very friendly voice informed me they were open for business. Not too far off the highway. When I arrived, I was met with a very professional young man. He informed me they have one vehicle that they are finishing but will be done shortly. I was able to wait in my own car and drive it into the bay myself. Not only did they fix the flat tire, they also inflated the other tires to their recommended psi. I was back on the road in under 10 Minutes. The staff was very professional and friendly. I feel they were very aware of the pandemic situation and acted accordingly. Needed a couple of tires for the wife's car due to a blowout and didn't want to pay through the nose. Drove up to Dick's on a recommendation and they didn't disappoint. Took us back to the tire barn and showed us a pair of very lightly used Cooper all season tires, was shocked at the price for the tires and mounting! An absolute bargain and great value. Oh, and it only took 2 hours, so the wife and I grabbed a bite to eat and an IPA at Treehouse Brewery during the wait. It's right down the road. Oh, and the tire tech was willing to bend the wheel well panel back into place caused by the blowout. These guys exemplify great service and a friendly business at a no-frills spot, counter to what you often get at commercial chain tire stores. Recommend highly for new or used tires! read more

These guys do things right. I've bought both new and used tires from them, as well as had flats repaired. Their used tire prices are absolutely unbeatable, and their new tire prices are excellent too. They also have very reasonable prices for tire disposal, new valve stems and balancing. They've usually got several people working and thus are able to work on multiple vehicles at once. I've only had to wait a couple of times when they were super busy, and they set the expectation right up front so I knew what to expect. If they're not busy you can typically get in and out of there within 30-40 mins. read more

Chicagoans here on a road trip to mid coast Maine. We noted a flat when pulling into our hotel in Sturbridge. Props to AAA for knowing the local options. Dick's was fantastic, the best you could wish for. We showed up at 8:38, 8 minutes after opening, and were fourth in line. We were on our way at 10:10, grateful and relieved. This place has changed and not for the better. I have bought tires for many years there, when I lived in Charlton and Southbridge. They where always the guys I used to go to for my tire needs. I have spent a good amount of money there over the years having tires replaced, fixed and bought from them. My daughter got her tires there and used to recommend people go there when she worked at the Mass Pike. I spent almost 800 dollars with them for my son's trucks tires. That year I spent over 1600 dollar on tires to 3 vehicles. And I used to recommend them to all my friends and family. I have been there in the past with new tires not bought thru them on a Saturday and had them installed with no problem. Image my surprise to find out that I could not longer do that on a Saturday. The guys (never seen this guy before) asked if he could help me. I asked him if he could install 2 tires for me and he said sure. There where only 2 cars in line, did not mind waiting my turn like I always had. Then he asked me if they where old or new tires. I told him they were new, which was never a problem in the past. Then he begins to tell me they only do new tires for people who bought tires there on Sat and said I would have to come back during the week 8:30 - 5, which are my normal hours of work. So he would have installed them if they where used tires, but I would have to come back because they where new tires. This makes no sense. Sorry to see what used to be a great place to have tire work done treat anyone like that, I don't want my friends and family treated like that. So I will no longer be recommending them to anyone. As a side note, I came all the way from Thompson CT (25 min drive) to have these tires installed, when I could have had them installed right down the street. Looks like I will have to find a new tire place. read more

Been a customer for over 10 years, they recommended a tire re-balance and I agreed. Thought nothing of it and drove to work after as normal. The next day I noticed all these pucks going around the rim from their machine, and the day after that I returned for the re-torque, and when I politely confronted them about it they said I "must have hit something and that their machine doesn't do that". I definitely didn't hit anything but I at least expected them to be accountable for their actions. Funny how the 3 wheels they didn't touch are all in good shape but yeah I'm sure it's just a coincidence. I guess all they have to do is deny it and they don't have to pay a week's salary to replace the damaged wheel, so good on them I guess (not that I even asked for that). Feels pretty bad to finally get a good condition car and have others ruin it. Very disappointed with how this was handled, though I guess I'm not too surprised, seems pretty common practice to just deny it. Won't ever be going back and advise anyone with a vehicle you care about to avoid like the plague! read more

I made an account just to review this place. I had a flat tire at 2 am and went there this morning without an appointment, took an hour in total and it took probably 15 or 20 minutes to replace the tire and install it. I called before and got the price for a used tire, $48 , turns out that includes the price of installation as well, wow. And there's a $3 disposal fee if you want to leave the old tire with them. I left a tip because I'm not an animal of course. I am sure I will use this garage in the future for my all of my tire purchases while I live here in Worcester. read more
