I planned to rotate my tires and called around to see what that would cost. One answer was $30, but when I call TFT they said it was free. What? Free? I went to the Auburn dealership and after they rotated my tires the salesperson said the tires were on too tight and they accidentally broke the key for my wheel lock. The salesperson said that if I replaced the locking lugs (4) with standard lugs, they would pay for them. What? I got 4 standard lugs from an autoparts store and they put them on and filed a reimbursement claim. The salesperson Steve Robichaud, took responsibility for the problem even though TFT didnt cause the tightly installed lugs problem in the first place. Don't bother wasting time with an appointment because you are just put in line with everyone else that just shows up. Expect to wait at least 3 hours with or without an appointment. Showed up at 11:50am for a 12:00 noon appointment then at 2:00pm I got my money back and left because the car STILL wasn't in the bay yet!!!. All that was needed was replacement TPMS sensors, since apparently they don't replace those when you get new tires (which I got from them 3 months ago) and for this they charge $80 per tire. Absolutely NO respect for anyone's time! I should have learned my lesson after the tire change back in September when I waited more than 2-1/2 hours with an appointment. Needless to say I won't make this mistake again!!! I really wish Discount Tire was in New England. DT has much better customer service, respect appointments, don't nickel and dime you, and still have the same tire prices. read more

I've had multiple issues with this location. First I bought a full set of tires from them for my truck. After driving it I realized they put the incorrect sized tires on. They reluctantly put the correct ones on after going back and fourth with them. I've had the correct tires on for a little over a year and now 3 of my 4 tire pressure sensors aren't working. when I took it in to have them fix the issue they said they were going to charge me $235. I guess Town Fair Tire doesn't have a warranty on them? So they obviously know they're using cheap parts and would rather have you continue to come back to pay them ridiculous labor costs than just have your vehicle fixed correctly. I was able to set an appointment for brand new tires and rims online and they look great. I went from R14s to R16s. They have limited stock of rims online depending upon the car you have so don't expect a wide variety of rims. It's ever-changing but it all depends on the vehicle you are looking to get work done on. I think they took their time working on my car even over the expected time of completion. I had an appointment but I felt like I was walk in so that's not the greatest. They told me it would take 2 hours and it ended up taking 6. They also broke three of my studs when swapping my tire and they refused to fix it so they told me to take it to an automotive place. I understand this is a tire location but you're telling me that they can't fix the area of work around their practice? Which is the wheel and everything else. That was a little inconvenient that they left me with three broken studs that I had to carefully bring home to set another appointment to fix when they could have just done it there with all the time that they made me wait as well , it was a little ridiculous. Not to mention that I had to pay for it as well despite them breaking it. Overall though it was an "ok" experience. I think I will go to another location of Town Fair Tire. read more

The short version: This shop damaged my wheels, and won't take responsibility. Longer version: I recently had the worn out original equipment tires replaced on my F150 by Town Fair Tire in Auburn. About a week later I was hand washing the truck when I discovered that the edges of all the wheels were damaged and peeling. (Damage that was not present prior to the tire replacement.) The wheels have no curb rash, or other pre-existing damage. When I spoke an employee at the store I was told to bring it in and he would take a look at it. Today when I was able to get over to the store, he said that this is a very common problem on Ford wheels, and not the store's fault. I then called the service department at my Ford dealer and asked if the chrome damage at the edge is common, and was told that is not the case. ("I've seen it a few times, but not common at all.") Note that since my dealer already knows that my truck is a couple of years out of warranty, there is no motivation to claim it's not a problem. FYI - I should also mention that I overheard the person ahead of me at the counter discussing with them the excessive tire wear on his tires with about 30K miles, and the person at the desk told him that since he didn't get his tires balanced every 10,000 miles, they wouldn't honor the mileage warranty - and was happy to sell him new tires. I've never heard of tire balancing every 10K miles - though tire rotations are always recommended. read more

Unfortunately, tire could not be fixed & I was the fool to not purchase the protection plan! Lesson learned. I recently went on to town fair tire's website and bought a set of four new tires and four new rims. I wanted to have my tire pressure sensors rebuilt. I didn't want to go new because I knew that I had already replaced all four quite recently. After arriving to get my tires and rims put on my truck the clerk behind the desk told me to rebuild my tire pressure sensors would be hard because they were so old. And insisted he thought it was a good idea to buy brand new ones to have installed. After getting them installed, and driving away I noticed that my tire pressure sensor warning light on the dash of my truck was still on. After I returned to ask them why the light was still on, they told me that the tires I bought were a 65 psi tire, and that those tire pressure sensor monitors installed in my tires could not be sent to the correct psi. I'm aggravated because they sold me four new tire pressure sensor monitors when they knew they didn't have to. They could've left the old ones on. And I would've had the same issue and saved myself $150. And they knew damn well that they were selling me something I didn't need. That's not good business in my book. You don't do that to somebody who is coming to you for a service. I felt like I was ripped off. I probably won't go back there again. Next time I'll go somewhere else. I don't like wasting my money. And I don't like feeling like I got screwed. But I do feel that way now. And because I have rubber valve stems on my truck I don't even think that they installed the tire pressure sensor monitors on my wheels. I think they sold me something and then didn't give me the product. Tire pressure sensor monitors for your rims typically have a hard valve stem not a soft rubber one. read more

After 5+ hours on the phone with AAA, we were stranded, driving on a run flat and losing hope we would be able to make it back to NYC somehow - probably needing a new tire, which isn't widely or readily available. Instead, Brian saw me, my bedraggled boyfriend and my little dog - just a totally pitiable marooned little family just wanting to go home - and helped us jump the line to patch the tire and get on our way for $7.38. So I ordered tires online. Go to store after calling them to verify tires and availability. "Sure no problem we have them". Get there and they do not have what I specifically asked for and was told they have them. Had to get tires $50 a piece more. Left flat tire with them. Was told be ready later or by tomorrow. Called them to check on tire got hung up on after sitting on hold for 10 minutes. Called back and main office cannot reach shop so they give me direct #. I call and they say "So sorry our fault but we will not be able to have tires until maybe Monday. Sorry about that again and have a nice weekend" Are you kidding me!!! So I'm guessing having a nice weekend means we're absolute idiots that don't know what the other hand is doing and where we are and what we do in a tire shop. 1st and last time I will be dealing with Townfair tire. I purchased four tires and a four wheel alignment for my truck.The first time on the highway my truck was shaking like crazy. I immediately brought the truck back and they told me they couldn't look at it for a week. I brought the truck to the Shrewsberry town fair tire they took me in immediately and found out that they put no weights at all on the right side of the truck causing both right side tires to be extremely out of balance. They also found out that they put 50 pounds of air in each of my tires when it called for 35. I would steer clear of town fair tire in Auburn and take a ride to the one in Shrewsberry. read more

Do NOT go here. Overpriced and very poor customer service. My mechanic warned me about them and I should have listened. Needed 2 tires for inspection. When I called they boasted about all their discounts and warranties--should have known right then. Their tires are priced ok but they up charge for additional items and after I was told on the phone that the tires are warrantied they told me it was $15 per tire to activate the warranty. You also do not qualify for the warranty unless you come back at 25 and 500 miles to have the tires checked---how will anyone remember that and how inconvenient? Worst part was I had an "appointment" to get both tires put on. Took them 4 hours then they called me and I could not hear them. I called them back 4x , got hung up on twice and sent to voicemail two other times. I figured they would call me back before they close.....never did. So My car sat there overnight with no communication w them whatsoever. Woke up first thing and tried to call them- same thing--hung up on and then to voicemail. So I end up going there anyways and waiting in a long line of customers, finally get to the front desk and they hand me my keys with no summary of the service. Turns out I needed a sensor replacement (i read this on the receipt after the fact) and they did nothing while they had my car to replace it. Horrible service. I will say, two of the staff members were very helpful and even recommended me cheaper priced tires didnt push me to buy expensive ones. I give this location a two stars because I had custom tire valve caps on my tires. Couple days after the got the tires done I noticed they either stole them or threw them out and put these crappy bland ones on. Not a big deal, custom ones weren't overly expensive but its the point they didnt ask to dispose of them, which I don't see why they would they were brand new or just straight out stole them. Couldn't bother to talk to them about it. Just a very petty thing coming from this place. Havent had a problem with the tire at all, thank god! Own a high end car. Needed two tires. Website says they carry the tires, needless to say they didn't have them in stock. had to special order both and up charged me 200$ each tire. Two tires mounted and balanced cost me $1057.00. tire online costs between $257-$300. Told me they don't price match anymore. went to pick up my car, it was parked basically sideways in a spot for anyone to hit. got in the car and ways in race mode. Brought the car in for its 25 mile torque check, explained the problem with the crossthreaded lug nut/lug stud. They insisted they didn't do it, however, they did offer to re-tap the threads on the lug stud and put a new lug nut on, for free. I had to go get a lug nut from the dealership for exact fit, after that, forty minutes while I did something else, and it was done. All in all, I'd still recommend this place, they still have excellent service, everyone was friendly and no one had any sort of attitude even after dealing with my problem. I already knew they were gonna rub on the inside but i had wheel spacers that i was going to install them as soon as i got home, myself. I made an appointment a week prior. I changed my tire selection to a more expensive tire 2 days after the online appointment. No problem. Tried to drop my car at 2:30 (my scheduled appointment), and had to wait in line for 10 minutes for the intake. No problem. Asked how long it would take. Was told an hour to an hour and a half. Call at 4:00 to get an estimate on the pick up time, and was told it'll be an hour. Excuse me, but since when does it take 2 1/2 hours for an appointment to mount and balance 4 tires???
