We found Diddlebugs while looking for a simple meal. The old reviews on our car mapping system caught our eye, and we decided to check it out. This charming Mom & Pop place is a hidden gem. It's a cozy counter-style restaurant run by a friendly and cheerful owner who happens to be a working-class woman. She greeted us warmly and took our order with a smile. She even wore a cool shirt that read, "The Pizza of Your Dreams," which I wish they had displayed on the wall. While she was taking our order, her assistant was busy crafting pizzas and Stromboli in the background. The aroma of freshly rolled dough and sizzling toppings filled the air, making our mouths water. We ordered a 14-inch pizza with two sodas for a reasonable price of $17. After paying, she kindly informed us that there was limited seating and suggested we enjoy our meal outdoors, given the beautiful weather. As we waited, we noticed a steady stream of delivery drivers coming and going, indicating that this is a popular spot for takeout. After about 15 to 20 minutes, our pizza arrived, accompanied by a smile and some paper plates and plastic silverware. We eagerly opened the box and were greeted by a visually appealing creation. We opted for the sausage and pepper pizza, and it lived up to our expectations. The cheese was perfectly golden, and the crust was cooked to perfection. Each bite was a delightful combination of flavors, with a subtle spiciness that wasn't overpowering. The seasoning was spot on, and we could taste the fermentation of the dough from the yeast. While it's challenging to please everyone with pizza, Diddlebugs truly excels in using high-quality ingredients and paying meticulous attention to detail. The cheese and tomatoes were fresh and flavorful, free from the greasy residue of cheap cheese. If you're staying at the hotel down the highway or passing through, Diddlebugs is definitely worth a stop. We thoroughly enjoyed our pizza, but unfortunately, we only had the chance to try it once. Stopped here on our cross country road trip, and so glad we did. My husband had a small stromboli (more than enough, he was glad he asked for comparison to the large). I had a toasted hoagie. The stromboli was fresh made with delicious sauce inside. The Italian hoagie was perfectly toasted and flavorful. Prices were VERY reasonable. There are only a couple tables for eating. It's an older roadside place, privately owned, which is what I prefer to patronize when traveling. read more

Just want to say, after a rough night at the ER with my daughter, we stopped here for a bottle of water on our way home (she was soooo thirsty). I hadn't been here for many years, and the new(er) owners were working (although I didn't know it at the time). They were getting ready to close, and not only did they offer to make us a pizza, the very nice lady (owner) gave my daughter a brand new stuffed animal (and another stuffed animal so her first one would have someone to play with)!! They just went above and beyond to make sure our otherwise crappy evening (had we not stopped here...) turn out to be really great). This is the kind of 'kindness of others' that made me want to cry... in a GOOD WAY!! This says a lot about the kind of family business this is.... there needs to be more like this!!! Judging by the rural location and far-from-fancy storefront you would have no idea that this this place is a pizza shop jewel. The place is small but awesome! The menu is huge but prices are pretty low and more competetive than others in Charleroi. The Pizza - Wow. This pizza destroys Papa John's or Pizza Hut. I'm giving this 3 stars instead of 2 because I've only tried the hoagies. Went here with a friend on our lunch break. We got steak and chicken bacon ranch hoagies. The steak was ok, but there probably should have been more steak on the sandwich, not bad. The chicken bacon ranch had big chunks of chicken, some were fine, others were tough and chewy, to the point that it ruined the sandwich. Then to top things off the people working there came out and sat next to us smoking while we were eating. If the sub par hoagies weren't enough to ruin our lunch the smoke definitely pushed it over the goal line. Anyone giving 5 stars is either not talking about the hoagies, or needs to get out more. I would get a gas station hot dog before I got another hoagie from here. Maybe the pizza is off the chart and I'm missing out, guess I'll never know. read more

The pizza was a solid 5/10. Too much sauce, not enough spice, very little on the toppings, very plain crust which also wasn't spiced or crisped or anything really. The overall flavor just lacked in a way. the wings were ok but still not the best. They also charged us 10 dollars extra without my wife seeing until we checked the bank the next day. read more

OK I recently just got a new job two minutes away from this place I've been eating here a good bit. I guess for a pizza place in the middle of nowhere it's alright. The pizza actually wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for the sauce I find it terrible it's too chunky, The dough seems kind of dry almost like it's stale, but The cheese is good I guess it's pretty hard to mess up cheese. My client has always told me they had good sandwiches so she was right that probably was the best thing I tried the buffalo chicken sandwich.. it was decent, Thry always put too much dressings on their things, Like when I tried their buffalo chicken salad I'm not sure they know what is salad is, as it consisted mostly of peppers I think there was some lettuce in there. The burger was pretty terrible.. Maybe it's just me and I have a problem with their gross soggy lettuce I have not had a good lettuce experience with this place. I was really wanting to try the food having gotten tired of the clone pizza around town...and am I glad. The pizza is the best! Among the three best I have ever had! The sauce is delicuous (you'd think it was a meat sauce but it's their seasonings). Very, very generous with toppings and priced right. They even went out of their way--nearly eight miles--to deliver! Hoagies, wedgies and calzones are equally voluptuous! I would have given 5 stars but had a dislike with that generosity (I know..."Fu#%ing people...but one always wants feedback as a tool for improving product, so). The calzones use "chopped" pepperoni which was soooo abundant that it drowned the other ingredients and turned the ricotta into mush). The BLT hoagie was also generous but the bacon was really salty and hoagie much better once I fried an egg for it. All-in-all...THIS IS THE BEST SHOP AROUND!! I took a couple pies to a party and everyone LOVED them--and all wanted their number--some unaware of their existence. Only two other most memorably delicious pizzas I've had over last 40 years were in Chicago and Pittsburgh suburbs--and I am happy to have GREAT PIZZA just a phone call away.
