It's a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant with just a few tables inside, but it has a cozy, welcoming feel. We ordered the chicken wings and catfish. While the prices are a little on the higher side, I do like that each entrée comes with two sides, which makes it feel like a complete meal. We chose the collard greens, mac and cheese, and rice and beans. The chicken wings were definitely the highlight for me! They were made fresh to order, nice and crispy, and the wings were a great size. The collard greens were also delicious and paired perfectly with the meal. For dessert, I tried the banana pudding. It was really good, although I thought it was a bit pricey for a single serving. Overall, everything tasted fresh, and you could tell it was made to order. My colleague and I were out in the field and decided to stop and grab our lunch to go. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of my meal when I got back to the office, but I must say the wings, mac & cheese and the potato salad were spot on. I called and placed my order and it only took about 15 minutes. I got turkey wings w/ gravy over rice ,Mac and cheese , and yams. I tried ordering from them twice on DoorDash only to have the order cancelled both times on two separate days. I then called in an order for pick up. I sent my husband with my credit card to pick up the order. The woman at the counter refused to accept the payment without ID. Once my husband produced ID she declined to accept payment due to the name not matching the ID. She told him to basically go home and get me. He left and she then called me with a tremendous attitude saying this is how she runs her business and oh well basically and she is not worried about customer service suggestions. The oxtails were OLD, dry and hard. Oxtails as you know are soft, tender and delicate. Looking at the photos you can see how terrible this food looked and tasted. I debated on doing this review... but here I am. I saw this restaurant on a food delivery app...saw the high prices and thought, oh, I will drive down since it is 10 minutes from the house. Surely enough, the price was 1-2 dollars cheaper, but still high!. It is a food truck located in a parking lot. I ordered the 3 pieces of catfish & 4 prawns meal. $22.00. Cooked to perfection. Though I am not fond of prawns cooked in cornmeal, it was decent. The meal came with either a choice of fries or potato salad, I chose potato salad. It was ok, but lacked flavor. I ordered a side order of Mac n cheese, flavor and texture was ok. But I was disappointed in the portion and felt like i got gaffled. For $6.00, i literally got a tablespoon and a half. See picture. I ordered a banana pudding for dessert (6.00) and specifically asked if it was cooked on the stovetop and was told yes. I'm thinking egg yolks & milk custard base, cooked on a stove, with a meringue topping. Nope. It didn't taste like any of the banana pudding I have prepared for over 40 years and tasted more like jello pudding and had maybe 1 piece of banana in it (i kid you not),- even the yellow coloring and whipped texture was a dead giveaway- that this was not banana pudding. (If you know you know) . It is very, very unlikely I will return, the prices are too high, portions small, sub par flavor and not worth the $36.00 price. Frankly, it was the tablespoon and half of 6.00 mac n cheese that sealed the deal. I am giving two stars. read more

I'll start with the cons. *Priced high for the amount of food I received. Three pieces of fish, four prawns and potato salad. *Auntie at the window was slightly rude. She should really work on her customer service skills. *The fish was a bit salty. I mean one eye closed after each bite. That's how salty it was and I have a high threshold for salt. But that was a bit much. *The house sauce was meh. I personally prefer tarter sauce. Now, I know I'm about to sound like a hypocrite, and I understand..Lol.. Pros.. *The pieces of fish were full-sized and NOT cut up from one piece of fish. Having said that, the pieces were between 3-5 ounces. Small, but decent. But small.. LOL.. Most places don't give you whole pieces so I appreciated seeing that. *Although the fish was salty as heck, I could tell it was good. The flavor and coating was good. *THE PRAWNS!!!! FIRE!!!!! Probably some of the best I've had. They were seasoned perfectly (or my palate was already salty from the fish and didn't notice). and I loved that the coating didn't come off with each bite! * Potatoe salad.. Auntie, although you were slightly rude, THAT POTATOE SALAD WAS THE TRUTH!! It tasted homemade, but even if it was "doctored," as my grandmother would say, I don't care. It, along with the prawns were my favorite. I won't lie I can't pick a favorite out of those two. They both were delicious. My only suggestion or critique about the potatoe salad is, pull back on the sugar just a little. At first bite I thought I was eating dessert, but I stirred it and all the flavors came together. Thank you for that delightful side dish!! Reminds me of mine..Lol.. My overall experience- I enjoyed it, minus the cons I mentioned. It's nice to finally have some decent soul food out this way. I know of another place in Antioch near by that gets down, (in a good way), but they only sell soul food on Sundays. Its nice to know this truck is possibly available throughout the week. My suggestion to the owner is this, smile, greet everyone the same and pretend that you want to be there. Even in the slow, hot days. Excellent customer service, goes a long way.
