Tako Bar was a hit among all 40 guests we had for a 70th birthday party in our back yard. Juanita and her crew had a busy day and we were the smallest party of the 3 gigs they had was left feeling like we were the only account that mattered. Set up was efficient, Juanita was there to supervise and returned to supervise the wrap up. Food was a 10...chicken, pork, beef was all great...her homemade salsas with secret recipes were also great. Tacos, quesadillas, guacamole (also superb) were the hit. I will definitely use them again...and also have to add of all the parties I have been at with similar setups, this was the best I have ever had. Juanita catered my husband's 40th birthday a few weeks ago, and it was so delicious! I initially called for taco catering, but to my surprise, she also makes Peruvian food, and at that point it was a no brained to me. I asked for three entres for about 20-25 people. Juanita was responsive from day one, arrived on time, and and came prepared. I was surprised by how quickly she did things, and because I didn't have more than 25 people, she was able to use my kitchen, and left it exactly as she found it. The dishes were arroz con pollo, tallarín a la huancaina with steaks, and a vegetarian chaufa. The food was extremely tasty, and was plenty for seconds after a few drinks. The most popular dish was the tallarín a la huancaina, the sauce was deliciously spicy. I would recommend Juanita to everyone I know, and I cannot wait to try more dishes soon. read more

I called all over the place to find a taco bar caterer for my birthday party that was on Father's Day. Places I called were either closed that day which was understandable, and those that were working that day were extremely overpriced for what I was looking for. I messaged this place, and Juanita responded right away. I told her what I wanted, and she responded back 5 minutes later with a full package she created for me. Not only that, she quoted me a fair good price within my budget. She got to the venue to setup, and warmed up some tortillas to make sure they were nice and warm to make them more enjoyable. As the guest arrived, she ended up staying another hour to serve them and make sure they were enjoying the food, and that I was happy. Great customer service!! My guest and I loved the food. Juanita went out of her way to make sure our wedding dinner was perfect, even going out of way to come to our reception. She was on time and super accommodating and friendly. The food was good, hot, and served safely. (I recommend the crackly-good lumpia and the yummy poppers as appetizers.) I should note that we had two unexpected changes. I needed jalapeño poppers and veggie tacos for my vegetarian bride, but there was a mix-up and we instead received three meats (instead of 2 + veggie) and pork lumpia instead of poppers. I am not complaining: I bring this up because Juanita went out of her way to make us happy. Her team quickly got veggies for the tacos and poppers and everything was right on time. Exceeding our expectations, she generously gave us the third meat and lumpia at no charge, and took off the poppers off the bill, even though I never complained. Was a guest at a party this weekend that had well over 50 people. The male person cooking the food was bogarding the food and made you feel uncomfortable if you ordered more than 2 tacos at a time. If this is all you can eat tacos like it says on the business card why bring small small little trays that are for meatloaf to hold the meats. Very disappointing and when I found out how much they charge, absolutely ridiculous. You can make your own tacos and have them taste authentic. How funny that Juanita is also from Brentwood. I arrived at a private party where I was to assist and bartend at in San Francisco. Juanita and her team were cooking away and it smelled fantastic. They made this watermelon and strawberry juice that was amazing! It was a big hit at the party and if you add some vodka or Malibu Rum, it'd add a little something special to it. The party hosts had plenty of wine left over because people just loved this juice! I had a pupusa for the first time. My sister has cravings for it but I have never had it. Theirs were so good, made from scratch and gave you an option of just cheese, or with cheese and beans with it. It is then topped with a cabbage salad and given the option for mild or hot. The guests were loving the hot sauce so I HAD to try it, and it was something amazing. After she left, lingering guests were inquiring after the hot sauce and if she had left some behind. She unfortunately took her 'secret sauce' with her. They also made quesadillas, had guacamole, sour cream, salad, rice and steamed veggies.
