The worst child haircut possible. I came in today with my son for a kids cut. I want 100% sure if this location cut black people hair. When I arrived I asked the receptionist who affirmed that they do. Jolie was our barber and it was terrible the shape up was crooked. The hair wasn't cut right. Just a mess. On top of that she kept speaking as if we were regulars. We have just moved here's, at first I thought she was joking but I started wondering if she wasn't. I've been going to Diesel Barbershop in Katy for a couple of months now and not once have I had a bad haircut. It's a bit on the pricey side, $50 pre-tip, but it's well worth it. You get a free drink, a nice fade, quality service, and to finish, a hot towel, massage gun treatment, and a nice wash. It's a very therapeutic hour. I call to book an appointment about two weeks in advance. There's usually a spot available and reschedules don't occur too often. Tiffany was my go-to person for my last couple of cuts but I heard she's gonna be leaving soon. Shoutout to you if you're reading this. I enjoyed all our convos on TV shows. Destiny took over as my new stylist as of yesterday and she was equally as great. You won't go wrong with anyone you choose here. Great experienced people all around. I'm very picky with my hair. I've now been here twice. Take it from a regular from Tune Up and someone who manages a bar. The employees here are great. They cater to you the moment you walk in and talk to you and actually want to engage in a conversation. But sometimes that's not for everyone getting a haircut. But if you are the sit in the chair and just get a haircut like you are being serviced like the entitled non engaging person you are, they cater to that as well. If you have ever been to Tune Up, you'll see cheap set up and basic stylings. Here you cans sit and see they care about their clientele that walk in. They analyze every inch as the cut your hair or excuse of hair. Wow, what an experience! Great place, very nostalgic. An 80's/ early 90's vibe right when you walk in the door. Greeted properly, offered a drink ( that's right a drink, beer, soda or water) and a variety of music to boot (just at the right volume too). Oh yeah I failed to mention FREE video games? Uh huh! The classics not today's games. I got a beard trim, shave and hair cut. Felt more like the Royal treatment. From the hot towel. Straight razor shave , head massage and back. Today I wanted to try something new and gave this place a try. I am now sitting at home with 75 dollars less in my pocket and a head that is almost shaved after having to literally walk before my "barber" was finished with the services (although he did say the haircut was finished) and had to go to a Sport Clips to get it fixed. This guy by the name of George gave me quite literally THE WORST haircut of my life. He messed up my beard even when I specifically said not to touch it (he messed up the sideburns which were completely uneven and upon bringing it up to him, well he just shaved them off!), and managed to give me a botched haircut that he was supposed to just copy from a picture online. This was no super specialty haircut either. A simple fade and cut a bit off the top. I walked out of there feeling scammed and literally called another place begging them to take me in immediately to fix his "work". Also, the guy went nuts with a razor and gave the worst razor burn on my neck I've ever had in my life. So yeah, the other place helped, but now I have almost no hair left and only hopes that it will grow fast. How is this business operating? Are they not making sure their staff has the skills they claim to have??How does this guy George have a license? Never ever in my life will go back to this place! read more

Stopped by this place, while in Houston, for a haircut. I wasn't sure where to go. I don't live in Houston. My husband and I are visiting for a funeral. My husband needed a haircut very badly. Amber was the barber. This barber shop is very clean and modern! Also, you can enjoy a soda or beer, while getting your haircut. It's gratis! They are very friendly and professional. Although the were fast, I didn't feel like they were rushing through my husband's haircut to get to next customer. My husband is really picky about his haircuts. We are very pleased with the results. This barbershop is so valuable. All for $40 you get a haircut, hair wash over sink, shoulder massage neck shave and choice of can of soda/beer or coffee! It's $50 if your haircut is mostly low all around. Most cuts in Katy and around Houston go for $40 on average so you can't lose just going at least a couple times. Great job! I'm not a high and tight guy. My hair needs to a little style and they did a great job getting my hair the way I like it. Did I mention the free beverages? Anything from Soda to Beer. I had an Axis IPA while I waited and while my hair was being cut. They performed a straight razor shave that didn't miss an single hair. I've had other shaves from other barbers in the past where I had to clean up what they missed later, but here not a hair was missed. Not even the strays. Oh and I didn't get cut either. That's always nice. The amenities are nice while at Diesel as well. Free classic stand up arcade games and music. Did I mention the free beverages. 1st and last time I'll ever go there. Went for a beard trim I told the whatever it was that was triming it to keep the length I wanted to keep it long and to taper it down on the sides even showed it a picture I know I repeated my self at least 4 times to keep it long(the length was right at the mid part of my chest) within in a few seconds IT cut more than half of my beard off the length doest even go past my neck now. All I got from the person was they said oh thats on me do you want me to stop I did cause a scene with a lot of curse words because I was mad I walked out for a few minutes and went back to talk to the manager she did offer to try to clean it up which I denied because the damage was already done but I guess she thought the situation was funny because she started laughing said there is nothing she can do. If you don't know how to trim a beard just say so instead of doing what you did. Horrible place in my opinion I will be telling everyone I know how bad this place is and to stay away read more
