Horrible customer service. I called the shop this afternoon and was told they were open until 5:30 pm...called just to confirm even though this is also the time listed on their website. I arrived at the shop at 5:08 and there was a female employee there and no customers. She told me they were closed. I let her know I had called earlier in the day and was told they close at 5:30 and that is also what is listed on their website...she said she takes her last customer at 5:00...again, it was only 5:08 and she could have easily cut my hair and still closed on time but she was unwilling and unapologetic. Thankfully I drove across the highway the Diesel and they were friendly, accommodating, and gave me a great cut. While you may be able to get a good cut at Katy Barbershop, their customer service definitely needs improvement. read more

Split review... Barbershop was cool, very relaxed. People seem down to earth and friendly. $15 is a very decent price. My last barber shop, Ford's Barbershop in Tulsa, was absolutely amazing but raised theirs up to about $25 if I remember. Still worth it for quality alone. Chelsea was my barber on this, my first trip. From here, I may as well be at Super Cuts. Cut was rushed, no interaction, and she talked me out of the preferences I have (given and proven by my last barber) because blah blah blah. I knew she was wrong because I knew the way it was done was perfect. But I didn't want her doing something she wasn't comfortable doing, lest she mess up. My instincts said "waaaaiitttt forrrr Annngeeellllll" all ghostly like. It was actually my wife saying it. And I probably should have listened. Always listen to your wife. read more

This place is the worst barbershop I've ever been too. I showed the barber a picture of my hair cut and he seemed so confident but when he started cutting I could instantly tell he couldn't do fades. I usually do a razor fade with a comb over and he said he could do a razor fade but never once pulled out a straight razor, not only that after he thought he was finished he handed me the mirror and asked me what I thought and when I told him I wanted a closer hair cut he got mad and argued with me. While I was arguing with him the guy next to me was complaining about his beard trim that the lady barber had done and she was saying she couldn't fix it. This is the worst barber shop ever. Do not go here. I took my two year old here for a little boy hair cut, he had very long pretty hair. I showed him a picture of a cute little boy haircut, he said he knew exactly what I wanted and that he could do it. I was trying to entertain my son as he started on the back, he proceeds to tell me sick disgusting things about his children and I began to get very creeped out. I looked up and I see that he has completely SHAVED the back of my sons hair, he's completely bald in the back. I was so uncomfortable and scared at this point I didn't say anything I just wanted to get out of there. I regret that now and wish I would have told him to stop and just left. He proceeded to shave his whole head, leaving just the top Mohawk area long. He continued to tell me creepy things and I was so scared. He finished and I payed and left, and got in my car and cried. I really wish I would have said something but in the moment I was just so creeped out. His hair looks absolutely horrible. He had long, very thick hair I can not believe anyone would have the nerve to completely shave someone's hair like that with out making sure that's what they wanted. After posting this on social media I had two friends make me aware that this exact thing had happened to them by the same guy. This place is great. I was looking for a place that could be trusted with my beard as well as the hair on top of my head, and after reading the reviews I figured I'd give it a shot. I was in and out in twenty minutes with a great trim-up...even shaved the back of my neck with actual foam and a razor, not some cheap pair of clippers. I highly recommend this place! read more

Katy Barber Shop This is a clean well-kept facility I have visited this place about five times in the two years of living in Katy. I was trying to get things done today and I choose Katy for my immediate needs. I walked in the door of the barber shop and the gentleman wearing the cross and white barber attire said very loudly can I help you? In my confused moment, I asked this is a barbershop; I would like a haircut and shave. His tones toward me changed and said have a seat, please. Now if he had stopped there I would have said nothing but this person said that someone dressed just like me was servicing his toiletries just yesterday and did not understand why "they were back". So the hair cut was easy to take it all off (not much there) now the shave was awkward between his shaking hands and deep breathes was a little concern. Now there were four new customers and each time the greetings were the same "hello and how are you". So the job was done and must say it looked good. So I asked what the damage since there was no pricing has posted. The walk out the door cost was $43.00 for this fine haircut and shave. Great haircut! My son (13) and I just moved to Katy and we used Yelp to find a new barber. After reading the reviews we decided to give this place a try. We were both very happy with our haircuts and the quality of service. It was 1/2 the price of what we use to pay for a cut in Florida and Paige and Angel were very friendly. All around a big win. Took my son to get a haircut for the new school year. My son is Autistic and HATES to get his hair cut. Chuck was great at easing his anxiety and my son was very relaxed the whole time. I had a photo I found online of the haircut I wanted for my son. Chuck was super knowledgeable and explained to me that due to the way his hair was cut last time we couldnt quite achieve the exact look I was requesting. I was very impressed because most places would just get it as close as possible and not care that it wasn't what I was looking for. Instead he modified the haircut I wanted in a way that would look great while the areas that were too short grew out enough for my original request. I am so happy with the result! My son even said he loves it, he has NEVER said he liked a haircut in the past. My kids just fell in love with Mr. Chuck, my daughter can't wait to get her next haircut there. My family and I just moved to the area and I needed a hair cut. I just walked right in and felt at home right away. There wasn't loud obnoxious music playing and everyone was very friendly. Not just nice, but friendly. That's hard to find these days. All I had to say was "high and tight" and have never had a better cut. They don't push products like everyone else. Today was a great day for me, been all over Katy looking for a barber shop who can get it right, I normally get a fade with a 5 on the top.
