I know deiters has been around for a long time, but after the to go meal I purchased Saturday I don't think Ill be back. I got 6 pack chicken pepper balls which are always good, ribs 1/2 lb and a lb of chopped brisket and 4 baked potatoes. The ribs were so dry they weren't edible. Potato tasted like i5d been wrapped in foil and nuked in a microwave all day and the chopped brisket was so oily it leaked out of the container and the double bag it was in and through the bag. $50+ for some of the worst quality food I've had in a long time. I start3d to call and complain but I knew it'd be completely disregarded. So why waste the time. We wont be back. There are a plethora of options south of Gainesville. This used to be the place to go, now I can say Tom Thumb serves more edible ribs feom their parking lot than Dexter's served us. Yikes! read more

We were immediately impressed when the food arrived--it looked amazing! We said grace and jumped right in. What a fantastic meal--definitely worth the drive from Carrollton, Texas. The food was fresh and hot We had pork ribs, fried okra, pinto beans, onion rings, German sausage, pickles, Texas toast, sprite and Chardonnay. Everything was delicious! There was so much food we needed a to-go containers. We also ordered a ribeye to take with us and when we tried a little at home, it was just as tasty. Took a motorcycle ride up to Muenster and we had several people we ran across suggest Dieter Brothers. They said the food was really good but everyone mentioned how good the customer service is. So we changed plans and stopped by for a late lunch. It's a quaint restaurant and nothing extraordinary but very comfortable. Everyone was right...we were greeted by our waitress and she was very friendly. She told us to find a table and she would be right with us. Super happy with our waitress and service. We split an order of onion rings (it's a huge portion). They tasted better than everyone even raved about. My buddy had the Reuben and said it was excellent. That sandwich was huge as well. I had the cheeseburger which was good. Overall a great experience and I plan on coming back. read more

I tried them because it was a new place for me and they had good reviews. They left me wondering why that had good reviews. To start with, the service was hit and miss and pretty slow. Their appetizers were good. The potato salad was strange, like grainy oatmeal but the taste was there, it was pretty good, just different. The fried okra was on point, the hot links were ok. The ribs, they were mushy not fall off the bone, but mushy. The brisket, I'd say don't go there for brisket, it was dry, very tough, tasteless, and no to very little smoke ring. Whoever is responsible for their "bbq" needs to take another look at the cooking process. The ribs and brisket were just bad, the bbq sauce was definitely needed. I will say, aside from the appetizers that were good, some of the other food I saw go by the table looked really good. Bam! This small town BBQ joint is the real deal. My wife had the Reuben and said it was really good. I went with the sliced brisket sandwich! The smokey flavor hits your taste buds on the first bite! The sauce is great, too. We split an order of fries. They are hand cut for you fry lovers like us. They passed my French fry test. I got onion rings as a side and rather than 3 or 4 rings like you normally get at other joints Dieter gives you a whole order. My wife got the senior's portion of brisket and it was huge. If you grew up in a small town with a cafe that had amazing food and waitresses with character and charm, then this is a place to go. Our waitress had both and more. I have learned that if a place has a special on the grease board, order it. BBQ Club had brisket, german sausage, and bacon. Tell them to hold the cheese. Sauce is delightful. Jalapeno bun should be packaged and sold. My son said catfish was crispy and tender. Here's the best part. My son only eats lemon with his catfish. As he squeezed the very juicy lemon, juice flew onto a man at the next table. Instead of becoming angry, he laughed, told my son no problem, and shook his hand. This is my America. All I can say is, if you are ever in the Lindsay area, you have got to stop here for some grub. This place is a gem. We are only in this area once or twice a year and we always make it a point to stop and get food to go. My hubby loves the chopped beef brisket sandwich while I prefer the sliced brisket. SO. GOOD. They also have the best onion rings I've ever had. For real. The staff is always extremely accommodating and friendly. For me my sliced brisket sandwich was awesome, it was fatty and smokey, most likely cut from the point meat! I am KETO so it works with me! My brother and sister like leaner brisket in their sandwiches. Theirs were too fatty! We wished they had their BBQ sauce on the table!   Wait staff and kitchen were fast and friendly. We travel through here on occasion and have seen this place so thought we would stop. To begin....the service was great and fast! I order a 2 meat dinner as did my husband. His sides were pinto beans and fries and mine was potato salad and coleslaw then we shared fried okra. Hubby says pinto beans and fries were good. I didn't care for my sides. But the okra was great. But we both agreed the meat was tough for bbq. Not sure it was worth $40. We probably won't go again but it would be an ok place to stop in a pinch. read more

This place is now my go-to spot for lunch when driving back from Winstar to Dallas. What a friendly and small town feel. I always get the German plate and spicy chicken balls (I know, not the best name). The German plate is huge, and gives me my German food fix. The red cabbage and German potato salad are amazing - as are the two kinds of sausages. Even the rye bread is tasty. The spicy chicken balls are not that spicy, taste great and are very satisfying while waiting for the entrees to arrive. The servers make you feel like a regular. read more

This is truly a Diners, Drive in and Dive place!! We wanted to try some place local while we were staying there visiting Winstar Casino. The restaurant has a small town feel and it was very clean. The staff was friendly but our waitress did leave before our meal came with no notice to us. Another waitress possibly the owner did come and serve us our food and let us know that it was the end of the previous waitress shift and she had to leave. No biggie but it would have been nice for a little heads up. Both my husband and I ordered the two meat plate. The onion rings were huge and very good. Nice amount ratio of batter to onion. The batter didn't fall off when you bite into it. The ribs were great...meaty, tender and nice size. The turkey was alright... had a nice smoke kiss to it. The hot links were great...
