This is a great stop. Everything is cooked when ordered. The beef is fresh daily. The employees are friendly and very helpful. I had the patty melt, others had the double cheeseburger and the daily special. The beverages are actually bottled sodas, and the malts are amazing. We will be back! read more

Stopped in for some lunch during the local car show. This place has a really cool atmosphere along with a friendly and attentive staff. There is plenty of tables to accommodate a fairly large crowd and the place was packed. I got the cheeseburger basket with a drink for about $11.00 and it was a really good. Their menu has a lot of variety so it shouldn't be hard for anyone to find something that they want. I would definitely go back again. read more

Was pleasantly surprised when we stopped in for lunch as we were passing through. There are some atmospheric things that feel cluttered but the food was good for the price. My burger was good and my wife enjoyed her pizza. Depending on time I can imagine this place could get overwhelmed. We would definitely stop back again if we were passing through. read more

We always enjoy our food at Private Island from the pizza to the burgers & floats. Everyone is very friendly and attentive.

Service is lacking. Seriously. Owners are not kind to employees. Don't require food handlers cards or training. Everything is cooked in a pizza oven or microwave. Not to mention they pay their employees cash under the table. Unethical and I refuse to support a business like this. read more

Went to my dad's this weekend and he wanted to take me to Pirate Island. Its a super cute place with lots of 50's decor. They have a car show every third weekend too. We had the daily special for Saturday which was a cheeseburger, fries or chips and a root beer or coke float for 5.99. The burger was grea, fries were good(but not very many) and the float was really great. Its blue bell ice cream and the soda for the float came in glass bottles which was a really nice treat. They have a board with weekly lunch specials and they all looked like really good deals. I didnt think the service was that friendly, but my dad says they are very friendly to him when he goes in ( which is all the time!) read more

Dropped in for lunch. 7.99 lunch specials that are different everyday. It's plenty of food and homemade. I personally had the meatloaf and it was spot on!!! I would highly recommend the meatloaf. The service is a bit slow but the food more than makes up for that. If you're traveling to lake Kiowa or lake texhoma then this is the perfect place to stop and eat. read more

I ordered a meatball sandwich with fries. The sandwich bread was okay. The meatballs were obviously frozen, low quality, likely a Walmart product. The marinara was from a can or jar, again very low quality, then again what jarred marinara isn't. Overall, flavorless substitute for a meal. I wasn't able to eat the sandwich. The fries were okay, I ate a few of them. My guess would be they remain in business because there are maybe three restaurants in this tiny little town. If someone were to open a restaurant with a menu that provided quality ingredients and simple tasty properly prepared food, they would do very well here. The area is growing. read more

We love to head out of town and fine some place that is unusual in a small town and headed back up at Pirates Isand in Collinsville, Texas. Some people would refer to these type restaurants as a definite "hole in the wall". Upon entering the restaurant you will find a video rental store complete with DVDs for rent plus there are three tabels for restaurant seating. Then just beyond this area is a larger dining room that will seat about 50 people, thus this is a small place. The walls are decorated with photos of old cars as this restaurant is the sponcer of an old car event annualy in Collinsville. We looked at the special for the day and that was a hamburger or cheeseburger with fries or chips plus a drink of your choice including an ice cream float , all for $6.49. This was a great deal.They have only one rest room however it was very clean.Great chance to see where the locals eat as the place was full when we entered and full when we left. Parking is on the street out front.The hamburger were thick and cooked juts right. The bun was loaded with tomatoes, lettuce and onions. We will no doubt be back. I give this apkce five stars because it may very well be the best place in Collinsville to eat. It would naturally not be five stars if it were located in downtown Manhatten, thus the rating must be kept in the proper perspective. read more

I was disappointed. We have family in Collinsville, and every time we visit, I have to have a calzone at Pirates Cove. They seem to have cut back on the ingredients. My calzone had minimal sauce and less toppings than in the past. However, my other family members had no complaints about their dinner. read more

This place is ok in a pinch. Pizza Hut will give you more value for your money. They also have a menu with items other than pizza, most everything is run thru the pizza oven. Again good if in a pinch but don't get your hopes up. read more

We try to take the short drive to eat here and take in the car shows during the summer. Last night the car show was great. Our food was good however my order was wrong (they forgot my fries) and they were served to me after I had finished my meal. We had to ask for our floats and our waitress was one of the worst I have ever had. No excuse for her. They were busy but this is a small place & not that many tables. Plus she wasn't the only waitress working. The kitchen staff looked like all young kids. I think some training is needed! read more

This was quite possibly the worst food i've ever had. The service was incredibly slow, the waiters weren't nice. My food was cold, the pricing was ridiculous. Don't waste your money. We ordered a taco salad, the chips were mushy/stale , salad was clearly from a mediocre batch of lettuce. Cheese was not melted, or even warm. It was cold and frozen. Even the meat was cold. Don't get your hopes up. Go to the donut shop across the street. peace & love. read more
