Best restaurant in the area, hands down. Solid breakfast with a super chill and homey atmosphere and great service. You come in and feel like family. Food is always solid. Fish Friday can't be beat, and the tartar sauce is so good I often just eat it with a fork! Love that it's byob too. Crazy good prices, especially for the quality of food and service. Ok. I give in. I've been a regular customer here for almost two years now. I have always been a die hard Doug's Peach Orchard fan. I would drive out of my way anytime I was in the area to go to Doug's, if time permitted. But since moving back to the Nocona area I have gotten an opportunity to eat at Bear Den Diner pretty regularly. Heck they even know me by name. The catfish Bear and his family cook is top notch, consistent, and reasonably priced. But I have to say, his is far better than the Peach orchards. That's not to say the Peach orchards is still not one of my favorite places to eat. Especially since they have " calf fries" on their menu and their fish is still excellent. They just have been over taken by Bears catfish. He only serves fish on Friday, for obvious reasons, but the fish is top notch and extremely worth the drive to lake Nocona to eat get it. Oh and his tarter sauce is unique and in my opinion an awesome condiment. read more

Great breakfast diner. We stayed the night at the Texas Kings Hotel in St Jo after an afternoon at the Blue Ostrich Winery and dinner at Ancient Ovens, and we needed a breakfast stop on our way back to Wichita Falls. This was recommended to us by the hotel proprietor and was the perfect stop. We split the big breakfast and a bacon egg and cheese breakfast and both were incredible for a very low price. 2 huge pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon and the best hash browns I've ever had-they grate them from scratch when you order If there was any improvement to be made it would be the time to get our order. Apparently we caught an extremely rare Sunday breakfast rush according to our waitress and they weren't quite prepared. Overall a wonderful experience - we will definitely be back! read more

A great find. We stumbled upon this on our way to explore Spanish Fort. A group of 40 had just been seated and Bear warned us breakfast could be very slow to come out. This diner is a few miles out of town but the drive is scenic, enjoyable & worth the drive. The Fishers chicken fried steak was large & delicious. It came with 2 sides & crispy cold salad. All was fantastic! I usually take home some but not this time. We will drive the 50 miles to go back. Looking forward to trying the catfish.
