It's better than your typical airport bbq which is what I was expecting. But I can say it's only slightly better. It's convenient, right off the casino floor and you order at the counter. There was a line and only one cashier at prime time for dinner. This was in between Christmas and New Year's so the hotel was full. Now we all know they aren't cooking it up fresh back there, it's bbq, they just have to cut it up and plate it. This type of food is perfect for a busy casino floor or even a concession stand! However, it took nearly 30 minutes for the food to get played and brought to our table. Others around us were visibly frustrated. It's casual dining on disposable plates and flatware so I guess I should temper my expectations but I think people would accept that for what it is if it weren't taking so long to get the food out. The place will looked packed and there will be a line, don't let it fool you. It's not that it's that good, they just aren't turning tables and that line hardly moves. My salad was pre-packaged- it tasted ok but had I known it wasn't going to be made fresh I probably would have ordered something else. It would have been nice to have the meats be warm. I ordered two ribs and the flavor was ok but they were far from "fall off the bone", now I know some people like to have their ribs with some pull required ti get them off the bone but I prefer some with a bone that comes clean.

I decided on the early bird plate that comes with two meats. I wanted to try the ribs and asked the waitress what she would recommend. She was very honest and I decided on the chicken breast. We got another plate with the chicken and the pulled pork. The ribs are real good, a nice rub and smoked just enough. As another reviewer stated the meat doesn't fall off the bone but comes off easily. Definitely good taste and not dry. The chicken is smoked well and moist. Not dry at all. The pulled pork was good but probably liked the chicken and ribs better. The beans are good, they have some chopped brisket in them and the regular bbq sauce that gives them a bit of a sweet taste. There are three types of bbq sauce, regular a slight sweet taste, spicy the heat builds on you and a Carolina sauce that has the mustard taste. I liked the early bird plate because it left me room for a fried pie. We got apple and peach. As much as I like apple I think the peach was better. Enjoyed the service and food. I would come back.

That's weird, right? Cracker Barrel supports the RV lifestyle and allows RVers to quietly use their parking lots for overnight parking with the polite but unspoken request that if you're having a meal in the area that you have it with them. We'd already had dinner back in Denton but we've hit up plenty of CB meals along the trip so I figure we're okay. The store is clean, the parking lot is tidy and yes, I did pick up two of their candy lemon sticks for the road. I tried to resist but couldn't. We had a decent night sleep here in the campervan and were on our way at around 6:30am before they opened. Next time, breakfast for sure! [Review 416 of 2026 - 725 in Texas - 25599 overall]

While waiting for the waitress, we asked for two cups of coffee along with Sweet'N Low and creamer. The coffee arrived, but the Sweet'N Low and creamer took a very long time to come out. We finally placed our food order, and once again there was a long wait -- this time for my biscuits and gravy. This is our second visit, and unfortunately both times the service has been very poor. The food itself was hot and tasted good, but the servers definitely need more training to get the basics right and improve the overall experience.
