I never enjoyed school because it was hard for me and I didn't perform well on testing. I went to the ARK and had an assessment by Caroline and finally got some answers. I was indeed dyslexic which helped me realize that I wasn't unintelligent, I just had to find different styles of learning that would help me overcome my learning disability. Caroline put together and instructional plan to help me with reading comprehension and grammar. It has been 6 years since that instruction and I am still using those tools today. I am forever grateful to the Ark institute of Learning for restoring not only my confidence but my enjoyment in learning.

I think the key to success is to find one that matches your child well and to not be afraid to voice your cares, concerns and opinions the supervisors and BCBAs. I feel that ABA consulting firms in generally realize that ASD and autism are popular, revenue generating disorders and that they have found a niche in providing services for families. Bottom line, ACES have been good for us, not great. I realize this is the fist review for this company, and as time goes on I will most likely update and revise my review. Take your time but not too much time. Your child's success is the most important thing, just remember that. If things are not working for you, seek out more in life and what people have to offer. Do not settle on a therapy services just because they are the only ones offered in your area.and if they are, don't be afraid to speak your mind and tell them what you are looking for, for your child.remember that they are working for you and not the other way around, you should never feel like you are privileged to have their services. Over the years, I have observed and conducted comprehensive, objective observations of over a hundred preschool classrooms. I am also the grandmother of a student who was enrolled in the Peer Inclusion Preschool class at Stanley Elementary School in Tacoma Washington. This school and this class is by far the worst program I have ever encountered. The teacher is unqualified to teach a Peer Inclusion Preschool Class. Certified elementary teachers are required to have Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education training to earn endorsements for their credentials to teach this class. It does not appear the district has provided training of any kind for her. Her teaching methods betray her lack of knowledge about child development, about how young children learn, or the standards for best practice. The way she teaches is a good example of the way preschoolers were taught in 1975. She does not implement the Tacoma School District designated curriculum for preschool. The children do not have access to the books and toys in the classroom. There is almost no communication from school to home. Parents are not allowed to observe in the classroom or to see the curriculum, which is illegal. The classroom is dirty. The children are sick way too often. On at least one occasion, (and presumably more), the children are not given the meal components on the posted menu. On that occasion they were given a single piece of pizza and water (no milk, no fruit, no veggies). The principal is aggressively rude, disrespectful, dishonest and unprofessional. The district was not helpful. Nothing changed. Nobody seemed to care.

Fluens is THE best!…read more I have two kiddos receiving speech therapy, this is the 3rd place we have been to in the past 5 years and hands down I'm so thankful we found Fluens! They are all super friendly and compassionate. at the last place we went (MMG in Lakewood) it was not a great experience & after almost a year they ended up having issues with our insurance and would not take on my other kiddo due to being "too full" any who Fluens is great my kids have advance so much since we made the switch and best of all there is NOT a high turnover (like MMG) and my kiddos love their teachers! We have been at Fluens for almost 2 years.
