I brought my iPhone 6s with a shattered screen in for repair. It was done within 30 minutes but I discovered the fingerprint scan wasn't working. I brought it back and he figured out the issue and had that fixed in another 15 minutes. I felt it was worth the $125 to get it fixed while I was shopping and the price is as good as anywhere else. I left as a satisfied customer. Edit: screen has been intermittently dimming and sometimes goes out completely. Looks like they use the cheapest parts they can get. Update: shoddiest work I have ever seen. Didn't even put the two screws at the bottom back in. Kept wondering why my screen wouldn't stay down. Never, ever go to this place! read more

Before sending in my iPod Touch repair, I googled this company. There were quite a few complaints with a few happy customers. Thinking that unhappy customers are more likely to post complaints, I took the risk. I have to say that the computer ordering system they use is very confusing and leaves much to be desired. But, my repair was completed in a reasonable amount of time. DigiExpress was a MUCH better experience than my local go to iPhone repair shop who took over six weeks to eventually lose (and replace) my iPod and confessed later that they outsourced my repair. I really wanted folks to know that although I'm pretty neutral on DigiExpress, they are at least a legitimate company. I found this company through google. My son had kept my 5th generation Ipod Video in a drawer in his room and gave it back to me this week. I thought I had thrown it away when the screen cracked. The ipod still charged up and played when plugged into Itunes but the screen was shot. I decided to invest the $25 for a new screen plus shipping and try to do it myself. WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ELECTRONICS REPAIR! When I first contacted DigiExpress to get my iPod Touch 4G repaired (screen replaced), the seemed very nice and helpful. So, I chose to send it into them. After waiting longer than I was told to expect, I called them and left a message. A couple of days later I received an email stating that I needed to call them, so I did. And that's when it started...the tried to convince me that other internal parts (ribbon cables) were also broken and needed to be repaired. However, the only way for such parts to be damaged was in the disassembly process. They refused to take responsibility for the fact that their technician had to be responsible. How dos a computer ribbon cable get broken inside a device? They don't! After several rounds of phone calls, I was stuck with 2 options: 1) have them send it back still broken (minus the about $80 fee that I had already paid), or 2) pay for the screen AND the ribbon cable so that I could get a working device back. I chose bow to the extortion and had it repaired. The day it was suppose to ship out to be I got another call from them trying to tell me that the speakers were not working well and also needed to be replaced. What a rip-off! I told them NO and to send it. I received the iPod back and 1 week after getting it, the screen went black, said it was over heating and then died!!! It cost me another $200 to get a refurbished iPod from my local Apple Store. And that one has worked like a charm ever since! read more

Here is their reply after I queried as to my promised refund. "We apologize that this refund has not yet been processed. Digiexpress could not repair my 3rd-generation ipod. So why a good review? Because they kept me informed about receipt of item, condition of item, and diagnosis. This is what they emailed me: "Due to a problem detected in the main electronics board of your device, your repair cannot be completed at this time... the cost for this repair exceeds the value of a new device. We will be issuing you a refund for all parts you have purchased for this repair." So they lose a star for not being able to do it, but I get an frank and honest vibe from their answer. I would not work with this company. They claim to perform a "full diagnostic" and then repair your device. In my case they performed the diagnostic, and let me know they needed to repair my LCD screen and battery. After some carefull research I found their parts to be at least twice as expensive as any other part supplier. Then after I agreed to the overpriced parts, I recieved an e-mail stating that my "electronics board was damaged" and they could not repair my device. This was after they said they could repair my device two weeks earlier. So, after 6 weeks of waiting, my $25 repair turned into a $90 charge for ultimatly not repairing my ipod. The worst part about it is they are unwilling to refund my money for parts and diagnostic work. When I asked why they were unwilling to refund they just cut and pasted a disclaimer that they are untimatley not responsible to any of their customers for any reason!! I love this place. My kids clinge to their iPad mini, iPad 2 and iPod touch 5 like they are literally lifelines to their young and entertainment eager hearts. As much as they try to cling to them 100% of the time, sometimes it hard to fully protect the devices No matter how much you spend on preventive measures like screen protectors, cases and and accessories. Every single person has had a booboo like this, expensive as it may be to go out and buy a new unit we sacrifice that hard earned cash and spend hundreds on new units so that we can avoid further breakage or even injury as broken glass on these devices can really hurt ours or our Littles, tiny little fingers. I had my sons iPad mini screen replaced here for an affordable price. His iPad was pretty banged up and he was really rough on the charging port ripping the charger in and out eventually causing irreversible damage, I figured it was the charger until they did a full diagnosis on the device and let me know I could get the port fixed as well for just an additional parts charge which wasn't much at all. To the earlier reviews its pretty clear from day one the company never mislead me to believe that the repair was only 25$. Any place charging 25$ for repair fee and full cost of parts would be completely UN-realistic, a simple further look into the company or simple call could solved that problem. I also around the same time took my other sons iPad 2 here to get fixed as well, it had pretty heavily shattered glass on it. A new one was 499.99 minimum with the storage amount he had the 112.00 fee was much better and he got to keep all of his data and apps, games, and pictures. Accidents happen pretty regularly my son broke his iPad mini again and back to Digi I went. With out any doubt i would much rather do this for the second time on an already previously broken device rather then keep forking out full price for new apple products just for them to break them 2 months down the road. I was very disappointed and I rarely give reviews this bad. I sent my iPod video with instructions to not delete the data with my $25. They sent me back a description of my product and I replied that if possible I would like the data. They charged me an additional 25 bucks to get my data and I paid it. A week later, I asked for a status update and the message I got was "I'll check". A few days later I asked again for a status and I got this message "I forgot to send your device for repair". A few days after that I got two emails, 1st one "shipped device repaired" 2nd email (2 minutes later) device shipped NOT repaired" SO for $50 bucks I got my broken device back and 3 cd's with my data. If I could give 0 stars I would! I guess I'm the fool for not looking at reviews like these before sending in my iPods. Their website is grossly misleading - says $25 for diagnostic and repairs, including cracked screens. I paid my money and sent 2 iPods for cracked screen repairs and then received invoices for $150 and $60. When I called to inquire/complain, the head of Customer Service was rude, condescending, and told me that I should go back and read the website, which I did and it is very misleading. Clearly this "customer service" representative has fielded this same call hundreds of times. DO NOT use this company. Item came back worse than when I sent it !!! I returned the item twice for the same repair; a screen on an iPod Nano 16GB. The screen was the wrong size and improperly seeded. There was an actual gap and light came thru from behind the screen. In addition the nano did not play music anymore (it did when I sent it). There was a nice lady who answered the phone and she arranged to send it back. 2 weeks later when I get it back the screen is exactly in the same state of disrepair and improperly inserted/seeded. Do I have to give them one star? They broke my IPad Mini. When I asked them to replace it they said "no" and gave me a smart a$$ reply. Don't trust the diagnostic. A true diagnostic would have resulted in a call to me advising me that if they tried to correct my problem they could irreparably damage my tablet and give me the choice if I wanted to take that risk. This company has ceased communication with me after failing to replace the aluminum back plate with an Apple-compatible back plate for my iPad2, leaving me without the ability to use my magnetized Apple Smart Cover. Additionally, because they opened the iPad up a total of three times because they failed to provide a 64Gb back plate, instead adding a 16Gb version, the display is improperly sealed to the back plate and has no chance of ever being sealed properly. So, I am left with an essentially broken iPad2 which has a much lowered market value were I to sell Additionally, they threatened to return my iPad back to me in pieces. The next day, they then offered to replace both the display and the back plate, but insisted that I take responsibility if their heating up of the computing digitizer causes the iPad2 to be "fried". Of course, I said no way. At this point, the back plate is non-Apple, will not work with my $40 Smart Cover. The display is pulling up all around the edges (they took it apart and resealed 3 times, 2 of which were a result of their incompetence!) and, the digitizer is failing in the lower 1/4 quadrant (it has lost its sensitivity, most likely due to the very thing they wanted me to guarantee, the heated display) To get anything to be sensitive to the touch I have to turn the screen 180 degrees to use the upper 1/4 quadrant). I see their website and they put on a good show but, these people simply bury their head in the sand. If you Google them, their satisfaction rating is hugely skewed toward excellent. How can this possibly be? They are evil. They essentially admitted their wrong by offering to replace my $800 iPad2 with a new one so long as I send the old one to them. Again, no way! Shameful and probably illegal practises . I sent them my son's first generation ipad on October 29 on the 31 I received an email that I need to pay 109 dollars to fix the wifi connector I contacted them cause the amount seemed excessive they admitted clerical error and changed the amount to $49 than I waited for the device for few days it said repair is in progress and I will be notified when it shipped . On November 6 I suddenly received anew invoice this time for $50 when I contacted them I was told that the original technician made an error and the problem isn't a wifi connector anymore but something else . I noticed this place when it first opened up and I was immediately skeptical. I assumed that it'd be the kind of place that charges astronomical mark ups for simple repairs that you could do at home. Fast forward a few years, and now I've actually used the service and am very pleased. My wife and I both broke our iPhone 5Cs. We dropped them on our kitchen floor (mine even had a case on it) and the display went out. I brought mine in and asked the sales person at the front of the store her opinion and she thought it'd likely need a new screen and she gave me a price (about $100 plus tax). I walked around the mall to another store and got the same price elsewhere. Thinking it might just be a loose plug or something, I opened up my 5C and made the problem significantly worse. Now the thing wouldn't power on at all. So, instead of monkeying around in my wife's phone, I brought it into Digiexpress. I actually gave them both of my phones and explained to them the stupid thing I had done with mine. The fix for my wife's phone was straightforward: replace the display for $25 service fee plus $75 parts, and it'd be done in an hour. For my phone, we talked it over and decided to do a diagnostic evaluation for $25 and have them call me with what they thought would fix the situation. Just like taking your car in to the mechanic. After about 45 minutes, they called me and said that the display needed to be replaced and the battery, too. The battery would be about $20 additional. I authorized the repair and I came back about an hour later to find out that more things had begun going wrong when they tried to put the phone back together. The volume buttons had shorted out. The tech said he suspected that there was a deeper problem. They quoted me a price to fix everything they had identified, but they were upfront about their concern that the device might have additional failures. They had done extensive testing on the device and had installed a new battery and display on it and put it together, but at the end of the day, I asked them to just put my old parts back in it and give it back to me. They still charged me the $25 repair/diagnostic fee, and I was fine with that. My wife's phone on the other hand was perfectly fine. We've had it a day and it's working like new so far. There's a 90 day service warranty and lifetime guarantee on the parts (any manufacturer defects, they'll replace it for free--if it's before 90 days, then they waive the $25 service fee). Overall, I'm very pleased. I paid just over $100 to fix the 5C. For Apple out-of-warranty service (our phones are just over a year old), we'd pay $269. For a used phone on eBay, we'd pay $220. This was worth it. As for my phone, it didn't get fixed, but I felt respected and informed throughout the entire process. I didn't feel like I was being hit up for extra money or strung along. After all their trouble, I only spent $25 for about an hour and a half worth of testing, assembly and disassembly. UPDATE: I'm updating this review and downgrading from 5 stars to 2 stars. The reason: value. The iPhone 5C I mentioned above that got a replaced screen for $100+ is now broken after 4 months. It suffered a minor drop with an Otterbox Commuter on it and the glass began to crack along the speaker. After a few more weeks, the multitouch became unresponsive. We took it into the Apple Genius Bar for an opinion. They said that once the crack formed, continuing to use the phone began damaging the internal components. And because we had 3rd party parts in the phone, they wouldn't touch it. Here's the kicker: I was wrong about the pricing. Apple would have replaced the screen as an out of warranty repair for $129. Which was about the same as what I paid at DigiExpress. I think the quality of the parts used to repair this phone was too low. It was not a good value. It did not last. Regarding my second phone that they disassembled and determined that it was irreparable because it was "shorting out" I got an opinion from the Apple Genius Bar, too (this was in Shadyside, btw). They said that even though a 3rd party had cracked it open, if they gave me all my OEM parts back, they'd still fix it for $129, provided that the only thing that needed to be fixed was the screen. If there was something else wrong, they'd charge me about $269 for a new phone. Or, I could say "no thanks" and walk away with my old broken phone without paying a cent. Keep in mind that I no longer have an AppleCare warranty. This was a far better arrangement than DigiExpress, who I paid $25 for the diagnostic. And here's the kicker: Apple fixed my phone for $129. They fixed it even though DigiExpress said that various parts were "shorting out." Essentially, I paid $25 for a poor diagnostic. Bad value. I want to stress that the folks at DigiExpress were very, very nice. But I did not get what I paid for. My recommendation: Go to Apple first. It won't cost you a cent, and you'll get quality OEM part read more

I was really impressed with the excellent repair work DigiExpress performed on my iPad. I had dropped it on one corner resulting in a smashed face. I considered trying to repair myself however after realizing the difficulty level of the task, began researching repair companies on line. DigiExpress had great reviews and the cost to repair very reasonable. It was so easy to order on-line what was required, ship and sit back while the repair was completed. They kept in communication the entire time, from receipt, to repair, to return. They even touched up the scratches to the corner where my iPad fell. As others did, I also looked for reviews of this companies reputation. I took a chance and sent my I Touch in along with the $25 fee and $6 shipping charge back to me. What started out to be a $31 fix soon turned into a $109 fix. Iwas at first mad but then soon realized I thought I would have to buy anew one. They sent it back after 7 weeks with the new screen slightly detached and a headphone jack that didn't work. I returned it, and they sent it back the second time with a cracked screen. Poor communication and Customer service.... I ordered a replacement glass cover for my ipad mini. Chose priority shipping (2-3 days) so I could receive it in a timely manner before a long trip. Thought my product was on the way. Called 2 days before my trip to make sure it would get here (because it was now day 5) and they informed me at that point that the product was on backorder for about 2 weeks. It was too late to get another glass case (at that price) before my trip, so I went without it. Did NOT appreciate this. I asked for shipping to be refunded since the point was to get my product within a few days. They gave me the run-around and offered to cancel the order and take me out of the queue for it if I changed shipping status. Ridiculous! I received an email about 2 1/2 weeks later saying my product shipped. Another 5-6 days went by, and I STILL did not receive it. When I called, the phone system directed me to send in an email and was a dead-end to actually speak to a human (OBVIOUS SIGN Of POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!) Said I would receive a response within 24 hours. I received a response (phone message) 4 days later saying that my product had finally shipped and sorry for the delays. II received my "priority shipping" product in 3 1/2 weeks, NOT 2-3 days!!! No refund was offered to me. 'm sorry, but that's not the way to take care of customers if you want repeat business and good reputation. Very disappointed. Sent my son's iPod in for repair. Charged $30 with shipping. I didn't hear back for a few days. I called and asked what's up. They replaced the battery, which would not hold a charge, and the headphone jack, which was nonfunctional. Send it back to me. Battery OK. Headphone jack still broken. Call and complain. They say send it back, so I do. They tell me that the ipod needs a new main board and that is why the headphone jack is still nonfunctional. This means that 1) they did not bother to diagnose the problem in the first place and 2) sold me a part I did not need. 3) To this I add the rude attitude of the staff when on the phone. I had a new back put on my 64Gb, AT&T 3G iPad2. They put a 16gb back on it. In replacing it, they put an off- market non-magnetic back on it, rendering my apple magnetic cover...useless. The screen has gaps where it was glued back on an the digitizer on the lower part of the screen is failing (it won't respond to the touch.) They said they'd give me a new iPad2 and, now...they won't talk to me. These people are disingenuous and deceitful. Avoid them like the plague! Also, they apparently do very good work, also; and, their website is awesome! So, they are multiple-personalitied? I guess they love it when things go right but, when they don't...they use every ruse there is to evade responsibility. A company that is good...is good in all facets. My daughter dropped my 2nd generation iPod touch that was actually only 6 months old and the home button no longer worked making it impossible to change apps or do anything with it really. I took it to the Apple store and they wanted $179 to replace it, so I said no way and somehow found DigiExpress through the Apple communication boards. I decided to try it and am so glad I did. I ordered the service online and the part I thought I needed (a total of $42), shipped it on 9/15 and received an email confirmation on 9/19 that they received my device with detailed info on the condition it arrived in and they sent me another email on 9/21 saying it was successfully fixed and it was mailed back to me on 9/21 and received by 9/24. I had high hopes for Digiexpress. When I first contacted them, they were very responsive and informative. But I found they were quick to act until they received your payment. The bill comes fast. After they received my payment, the communication ceased. I had to e-mail them for status updates. The screen was broken and the battery life was low and the headphone jack would not hold the headphones in securely. Kept popping out. I repeatedly told them about the headphone jack and battery not working and wanting replacements. I even offered to pay for them up front. But they said let the technician diagnose the issue and get back to me. So, I get the message back that the screen was broken and a bill for just that item. I told them again about the headphone jack and battery. They sent an updated bill that added those items. Then nothing for 2 weeks. When I finally did receive a response, they told me 7-10 business days. The process actually took 12 business days to get it in the mail to me. But, when I received the ipod back, the screen was fixed. Looked good. But, when I checked the headphone jack, it had not been repaired. Had the same problem as when I sent it in. I could only imagine that they did not fix the battery as well. My son did not want to wait another 3 weeks and more shipping costs to fix what should have been fixed the first time. I disputed the repair with Paypal and received a refund for the headphone jack and battery. But, why offer additional services if you don't perform the work? So, I probably won't use them again. read more
