Veal Chop w/ fresh mushroom risotto
    Kelly C.

Started at the bar before our reservation & delighted to find that they just extended happy hour thru Saturday. $4 off my prosecco & a free meatball with the purchase of a top shelf vodka ...so funny. Sat down for dinner & taken good care of by C(K)arla, who was a sweetheart. Guy Fieri wasn't wrong about their veal chop!! Stuffed with prosciutto, fresh spinach & a fresh mushroom Marsala Demi glacé. The bone-in veal parm was apparently right up there with the famous Il Mulino's. Athough, when it comes to the best...their Tiramisu was spot on. The menu stated it was "Award Winning", "showstopping". It was every bit the hype & then some! I wish they had been busier. I feel bad for all those people missing out!

My wife and I weren't super impressed with this restaurant, even though it was one of the"Guy's" stops on his show. Maybe it was what we ordered, but it really wasn't that good. Service was ok, portions were way too big. The Lasagna was just ok, too much ricotta and the chicken parm was so-so. Garlic knots as a starter were just like most pizza places.... I expected a little more...

Perfect Old Fashioned and Royal Hawaiian

Wow, this quaint, family-owned cafe lived up to its reputation! And by that I mean solid reviews and the provenance of having been featured on Guy Fieri's Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives, the latter of which they take advantage at every turn (and why not?). We had a 6 PM Open Table reservation and, but for the points earned, it really wasn't needed, as the dining room is vast with lots of seating and fairly empty at that time. Our server greeted us promptly and remained friendly and efficient throughout the meal. For drinks, my husband had the Perfect Old Fashioned and deemed it pretty solid, since it's his favorite. I tried the Royal Hawaiian and found it to be absolutely delicious! We quickly received our soup and salad (which come with the entrees) -- Caesar with anchovies for my husband and Pasta Fagioli for me. Both were excellent. Next came the garlic knots (4), dripping with butter and garlic. So good! Not far behind were our entrees. My husband ordered the Truffled Lobster Mac & Cheese (as featured on Triple D). I had the Chicken Francese with capellini. We also ordered a House Cabernet to share. The food came out quickly, however mine arrived with linguini instead. Our server immediately noticed the error and offered to bring out a side of capellini which came quickly. My husband loved his dish but could only finish half. Mine was excellent as well. The chicken was tender and moist yet the coating was slightly crisp and flavorful. But it was the sauce, both within the dish (subtle not overpowering) and on the capellini that was addictive. Even so, I could only eat half as well and, sadly, neither of us had room for dessert. Recommendation overall? Go! Wonderful, family-owned spot where you'll be looked after well and the dishes are prepared with love. Add to that the fact that the prices and what's included with the entrees makes it a real value and you have a winner in my book!

Old world Italian, at its best! Café Largo has been here since 1968, offering old world Italian flavors, service, and excellence What I really love about this restaurant is that you can have an amazing meal and not break your budget. Parking around the restaurant can be a little tight but there are adjacent lots that can be utilized opens 4 PM to 10 PM daily but check for holiday closures ahead of time. Daily specials are available to help break up the routine, but I've got to tell you that many of the pastas served with the local seafood are just out of this world. The restaurant offers a small bar with full service. The restaurant has a cozy feel and it smells so good. We've had nothing but the best servers that have been super friendly and efficient to making sure that we want for nothing! You've got to try the garlic knots which will definitely get you started down the right path!

    a beer and a glass

After spending more than a week in the Keys I was craving Italian and although I had eaten pizza a few times I wanted some pasta, a fresh salad and some amazing bread. The old Italian setting is so inviting and this one brings a lot of nostalgia and it's just got an old charm about it. The dining area is large and elegant although the clientele like myself are dressed in shorts and flip-flops it's totally acceptable considering we are in the Keys. They have a great wine selection although an ice cold beer was more in line with the weather today so I choose a Peroni with a chilled glass. This place was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives back in 2016 and the menu still highlights the dishes from the show but we decided on a few other dishes which turned out to be quite enjoyable especially since the pasta is made in house and served al dente it's just a different level from most "Italian" restaurants these days. We also enjoyed complimentary garlic rolls sitting in fresh olive oil and paid the $3.00 up charge for two Caesar Salads which were amazing I can imagine ordering one of these with a protein for lunch it was definitely worth the up-charge. The staff here is very friendly and professional our server Sandra was attentive and answered all our questions without having to think about it, she was a wealth of knowledge and apparently has been employed here quite awhile. I'd definitely return when the area theres lots to explore here...

Cookie a la mode with spumoni
    Kim B.

We tried stopping by during on our way to Key West but they're only open dinner hours. Bar seating available as well. House salad with creamy Italian, garlic bread, spaghetti with meat sauce with one meatball, veal Florentine and special cookie a la mode (Spumoni) were all good. The veal had a crunchy texture. Sauce was neither sweet nor tangy. Service was great! Cozy dining area.

Came on a Saturday night 5:30. Salads were good but the bread in olive oil was exceptional! We got the linguine and clams which was fantastic and the capellini pescatore was one of the best things I've ever eaten! Chocolate cake for dessert was fine. Excellent service and ambience. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, good service can't make up for prices that are completely out of touch with reality. I came here expecting fresh local seafood, not sticker shock. We spent nearly $100 for two people, one appetizer, and absolutely no alcoholic beverages. That's outrageous for what we received. The Snapper Fish & Chips was especially disappointing. Over $40 for a fish-and-chips basket is ridiculous, regardless of what type of fish is being used. It's not as if you're serving a massive portion of fish. The sautéed snapper tasted better, but even that dish felt overpriced, especially when it's being served with rice and beans. What makes it even harder to understand is that this is the Florida Keys, surrounded by water and known for seafood. Yet the menu prices make it feel like the fish was flown in from another continent. The quality simply doesn't justify the cost. I don't mind paying premium prices for an exceptional meal. What I do mind is paying premium prices for average portions and ordinary food. Fish House has friendly employees and fast service, but those positives aren't enough to overcome the absurd pricing. There are too many other restaurants in the Keys offering better value. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonably priced seafood meal.

The sampler comes with two conch fritters, two coconut shrimp, two bacon wrapped items (which we replaced), cracked conch, and lobster and conch ceviche. I have to say this while it's fresh in my mind. The moment I had the lobster and shrimp ceviche, I got chills. Just an incredible burst of flavor. Tiny bit of heat at the end but nothing overwhelming. Just really, really good. The conch fritters are solid too. Chewy, not over breaded, and served with two sauces. One is sweet and one is more of a mayo style. There's also something that eats like a conch curry puff situation. I liked the cracked conch better personally, but both are worth trying. The coconut shrimp is also really good. The sampler also comes with tortilla chips on the side. The lobster bisque is delicious. Great flavor with little chunks of what I'm pretty sure is lobster throughout. Nothing more to add really. It's just good. The mahi and avocado dish has a nice seared taste to it. Not flame broiled exactly, but that kind of grilled sear that you want on fish. The pico de gallo is similar to what came with the ceviche, and it works really well here. All in at $75.

Five stars, and I want to explain this properly because High Tide in Key Largo is absolutely a…read moreplace people should experience at least once. This is one of those spots that immediately tells you it's a local favorite the second you walk in. It feels homey, lived in, and deeply rooted in the community. The average crowd definitely skews older, which honestly just shows how loyal the regulars are and how long this place has been doing something right. We stood for a minute or two when we arrived, which wasn't a problem at all, but the initial interaction felt a little abrupt. Nothing hostile, just very direct and urgent. We later found out that Cathy is the owner, and it became clear very quickly that this place is her whole world. She works hard, moves fast, and runs on urgency. That energy can sometimes come off sharp, especially to visitors who aren't used to that local, no frills style, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt. There were moments throughout our visit where the tone felt a little rough around the edges, and it wasn't just with us, we noticed it with other tables too. It didn't feel personal, more like someone who is stretched thin and running on fumes. To her credit, there were moments where she self corrected, and I genuinely believe this was just a long day rather than bad intentions. Running a place like this day in and day out is not easy, and you can feel how much effort goes into keeping it moving. This review isn't meant to tear anyone down, just to be honest for future guests so they know what to expect walking in. What truly changed our entire experience and pushed this from a four star visit to a solid five was our server. Her name started with a T, she wore glasses, and she was African American, and she was an absolute blessing. She treated us with warmth, patience, and genuine care, like we were family she was looking out for. When we sat down and the table needed to be wiped, she handled it gracefully without a single awkward moment. Everything she did felt intentional and kind. She was attentive without hovering, respectful, and genuinely happy to be doing her job. There was also a sweet older Latina woman clearing tables who was just as lovely and welcoming. It became very clear that despite the different personalities, this place functions as a team, and the heart of High Tide lives in the people who treat guests with care and humanity. If you get that server whose name starts with a T, you are in excellent hands. Now let's talk about the food, because this is where High Tide really shines. The hash brown casserole is a straight ten out of ten. No exaggeration. Comfort food perfection. Crispy, savory, and absolutely worth ordering. The country style platter we ordered was also a ten according to my friend, hearty and satisfying in the best way. The lobster benedict was good, I would give it about an eight. It's a fun, unique option if you want to try something different, but not the standout compared to the rest of the menu. And then there's the real star of the show, the Key lime pie. Even if you are not hungry, come for the pie. This is hands down the best Key lime pie I have ever had. Perfectly balanced, not overly tart, smooth and almost cheesecake like in texture. It's the kind of dessert that makes you pause after the first bite because it's that good. Beautifully presented too. The decor is charming and thoughtfully cluttered in a way that feels authentic, not staged. The bathrooms are old but very clean. Parking is a little quirky but manageable, and there is parking available if you're patient. Overall, the vibe is cozy, memorable, and unmistakably local. Would I come back? Absolutely, especially for the food and that pie. Cathy, you are clearly working your ass off, and I hope this was just a rough day. This review comes with honesty and flowers, not shade. Five stars for the food, the heart, and the people who make this place what it is. I do recommend it.
