I've eaten here three times this week! I've been here with friends and sat at the bar each time. So much fun and excellent food! Amanda was bar tending and is always attentive, even when the bar is overly full. I am raving about the chicken breast stuffed with buratta cheese, spinach and prosciutto cheese. It's in a lemon wine sauce that is to die for! It's on the "specials" menu, so I don't know how long it will be available. It's a huge portion and would be a nice dinner to share, especially if you have an appetizer. My friends were raving about the green beans in garlic butter sauce. It's also offered as a special side. Solid Italian food in Key Largo. Restaurant has been there for decades. Nice old time decor! Staff is friendly and welcoming, crowd at the bar was mainly a stream of locals ... all super nice! Chad behind the bar was awesome! Treat of the evening (Wednesday) is "by the clock" Veuve Cilcquot, prices starting at $5/glass at 5:00pm, and increasing $1/hour throughout the evening. Very fun! Nice happy menu too. We had an escarole salad, Philly cheesesteak soup, wagyu carpaccio, the mini osso bucco snacks, and the veal chop Florentine (served to Guy Fieri back in the day). We just spent 10 days in Italy. The food was as good as what we had in Italy. Service was outstanding!

Amazing food and service. I'll start by saying I lost my diamond bracelet and messaged the restaurant the next day to see if maybe I dropped it there. They had the bracelet! The cleaning lady found it and turned it in. Can't thank them enough! We had Valentine's dinner there and the food was delicious. Started at the bar before our reservation & delighted to find that they just extended happy hour thru Saturday. $4 off my prosecco & a free meatball with the purchase of a top shelf vodka ...so funny. Sat down for dinner & taken good care of by C(K)arla, who was a sweetheart. Guy Fieri wasn't wrong about their veal chop!! Stuffed with prosciutto, fresh spinach & a fresh mushroom Marsala Demi glacé. The bone-in veal parm was apparently right up there with the famous Il Mulino's. Athough, when it comes to the best...their Tiramisu was spot on. The menu stated it was "Award Winning", "showstopping". It was every bit the hype & then some! I wish they had been busier. Well ...I've always wanted to try one of Guy Fieri's "Triple D" recommendations..."this" was it! I wasn't going to leave the Keys without checking it out! While our server was exceptional, There was only one homemade pasta choice...Seemed odd since these hand picked restaurants are typically something special. I had the lobster Mac 'n cheese...which I though would be over the moon. but wasnt ...and there were shells in the dish. My friend had the gnocchi ( this melted in your mouth...and was the one or two items on the menu that was made fresh ). Somewhat disappointing for me...( the so-so part)...I will give it a second chance and I really respect Guy as a food icon...so guess that means...." It started off to a good start with the side salad and garlic knots. But is stopped there. The Chicken Francese was tasted nothing close to a francese, there was no hint of butter, white wine or lemon. In fact the sauce came was brownish and tasted terrible (like a 1980's microwaveable dinner). I took one bite and could not take another. The taste of Italy also was also a bust. The Lasagna was a pile of mush, and tasted like a low quality packaged frozen dinner, the chicken Marsala tasted nothing like Marsala. They clearly are not an authentic Italian restaurant or are using low quality ingredients. I am not sure how this restaurant made it on a TV show. Wow, this quaint, family-owned cafe lived up to its reputation! And by that I mean solid reviews and the provenance of having been featured on Guy Fieri's Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives, the latter of which they take advantage at every turn (and why not?). We had a 6 PM Open Table reservation and, but for the points earned, it really wasn't needed, as the dining room is vast with lots of seating and fairly empty at that time. Our server greeted us promptly and remained friendly and efficient throughout the meal. For drinks, my husband had the Perfect Old Fashioned and deemed it pretty solid, since it's his favorite. I tried the Royal Hawaiian and found it to be absolutely delicious! We quickly received our soup and salad (which come with the entrees) -- Caesar with anchovies for my husband and Pasta Fagioli for me. Both were excellent. Next came the garlic knots (4), dripping with butter and garlic. So good! Not far behind were our entrees. My husband ordered the Truffled Lobster Mac & Cheese (as featured on Triple D). I had the Chicken Francese with capellini. We also ordered a House Cabernet to share. The food came out quickly, however mine arrived with linguini instead. Our server immediately noticed the error and offered to bring out a side of capellini which came quickly. My husband loved his dish but could only finish half. Mine was excellent as well. The chicken was tender and moist yet the coating was slightly crisp and flavorful. But it was the sauce, both within the dish (subtle not overpowering) and on the capellini that was addictive. Even so, I could only eat half as well and, sadly, neither of us had room for dessert. Recommendation overall? Go! Wonderful, family-owned spot where you'll be looked after well and the dishes are prepared with love. Add to that the fact that the prices and what's included with the entrees makes it a real value and you have a winner in my book! read more

Café Largo has been here since 1968, offering old world Italian flavors, service, and excellence What I really love about this restaurant is that you can have an amazing meal and not break your budget. Parking around the restaurant can be a little tight but there are adjacent lots that can be utilized opens 4 PM to 10 PM daily but check for holiday closures ahead of time. Daily specials are available to help break up the routine, but I've got to tell you that many of the pastas served with the local seafood are just out of this world. The restaurant offers a small bar with full service. The restaurant has a cozy feel and it smells so good. We've had nothing but the best servers that have been super friendly and efficient to making sure that we want for nothing! You've got to try the garlic knots which will definitely get you started down the right path! read more

After spending more than a week in the Keys I was craving Italian and although I had eaten pizza a few times I wanted some pasta, a fresh salad and some amazing bread. The old Italian setting is so inviting and this one brings a lot of nostalgia and it's just got an old charm about it. The dining area is large and elegant although the clientele like myself are dressed in shorts and flip-flops it's totally acceptable considering we are in the Keys. They have a great wine selection although an ice cold beer was more in line with the weather today so I choose a Peroni with a chilled glass. This place was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives back in 2016 and the menu still highlights the dishes from the show but we decided on a few other dishes which turned out to be quite enjoyable especially since the pasta is made in house and served al dente it's just a different level from most "Italian" restaurants these days. We also enjoyed complimentary garlic rolls sitting in fresh olive oil and paid the $3.00 up charge for two Caesar Salads which were amazing I can imagine ordering one of these with a protein for lunch it was definitely worth the up-charge. The staff here is very friendly and professional our server Sandra was attentive and answered all our questions without having to think about it, she was a wealth of knowledge and apparently has been employed here quite awhile. House salad with creamy Italian, garlic bread, spaghetti with meat sauce with one meatball, veal Florentine and special cookie a la mode (Spumoni) were all good. The veal had a crunchy texture. We got the linguine and clams which was fantastic and the capellini pescatore was one of the best things I've ever eaten! Chocolate cake for dessert was fine. Excellent service and ambience. I saw this place on DDD - even though it's from 2016! I had to try it since it's only blocks from my BFF's little Keys house. Now, what are the odds that I'm from Rhode Island and the waitress, Tammy Cabral, is also from Rhode Island!! Kismet :) You start with garlic knots that are fresh and soft and garlicky ... YUM!! My friend had chicken parm, a salad (the creamy Italian was SO good) and garlic spinach. At least half of it came home. I had the pasta fagiola, mutton snapper and parmesan risotto. Half of it came home. Not for lack of trying. Both were good the next day for dinner AND the next for lunch. Three meals out of that!! It was like eating at my aunt's house!! The food was spot on. That risotto was ridiculous - I could have eaten the entire pot! The only bummer - there was absolutely NO room for dessert - and that was really a shame because it looked amazing. read more

Very disappointing meal here- our server was friendly but super slow-- the famous veal chop from DDD was way over cooked. Our daughter ordered the 19.00 kids steak that was maybe 3 bites and they wouldn't let her substitute the mashed potatoes for plain pasta which is absolutely ridiculous considering a few plain penne pasta cost way less than some mashed potatoes and gravy. The server suggestion was to order the chicken fingers because it comes with pasta That's not very good customer service. My chicken parm was tasty, but was already turned off from the ridiculous kids meal debacle. read more

Let's start with our server Kathy. Kathy was absolutely hospitable ! Kathy did an amazing job and also did what only a handful of servers have been able to accomplish at Cafe Largo. What is that accomplishment, is the simplest request and that is for fried chicken over my wife's pasta! That's right, we frequent cafe Largo often and maybe 1 of 10 times we are able to get the fried chicken! So thank you to Kathy! Not only did she get the fried chicken for us she also got the extra sauce we constantly requested but the dish never seems to come out with. Overall our experience tonight at Cafe Largo was amazing! The restaurant is always very well maintained and kept clean. I highly recommend visiting Cafe Largo for some great food. We've been wanting to go to Cafe Largo for quite some time since we saw that it was on Triple D and the great reviews. Our server made our experience a most pleasant one! One of the things that I liked is that the salads and garlic rolls were complementary which in many restaurants is an extra charge. The Linguine Gorgonzola caught my eye right away since I am a cheese lover. I asked our amazing server if I could change the chicken to shrimp. She went on to say that usually the chef does not like to do so, but that she would ask anyway. To my surprise and delight, the chef consented to my request. I absolutely enjoyed my Linguine Gorgonzola! My husband had the Seafood Linguine and he was thrilled with his selection. We had no room for dessert, but they all sounded delectable. The ambience was nice and quiet maybe because it was Sunday. Needless to say, that Cafe Largo was a hit with us just like it was with Guy Fieri. read more

The food was not good. The Caesar salad lettuce tasted weird and the dressing was horrible, Publix has better salad. We ordered the chicken Franchese and the sauce had so much lemon in it that it was tasting hot. This is not how it should taste. The chicken was cooked fine but the sauce was a disaster. I have eaten Italian food all my lives from Boston to NY City to Italian neighborhoods in NJ. These guys need to go back to the basics. So sad since they have been in business since 1968. Very good considering the Italian options in the area aren't great. The parking lot was a little crowded but the interior of the restaurant is nicely accommodating. We had reservations but arrived about 15 minutes early. It seemed like everyone had reservations for the same time, as we were seated at the same time as six other groups. Odd. Food was good. Soup and calamari appetizer were definitely enjoyed. I had the sausage and peppers pasta and it was excellent. I just wished there was some more of it. In fairness, I was very hungry! Triple D did not steer us wrong...this restaurant is AMAZING! Without a doubt, the best Italian food you'll eat in all of the FL Keys. It is busy every single night of the week, so definitely make a reservation in advance. We ordered as much as we possibly could eat from this menu--the garlic rolls, the wagyu beef carpaccio, the Italian stuffed mushrooms with spinach, the crisp, fresh Caesar salads, the "tour of Italy" (manicotti, lasagna, chicken Marsala), the pork Osso Bucco, the truffled lobster Mac n cheese, the short rib bolognese lasagna, and the stuffed manicotti dish with spinach and bolognese--everything was SPECTACULAR! The portions were huge but that didn't deter me from finishing every single bite of the lasagna...it was seriously the best I've ever had. Our server was excellent--always making sure our drinks were filled and that we had everything we needed and the atmosphere was great; romantic enough for a date night but also family friendly.
