our catch of mahi fish, cooked 3 different ways. almond, jalapeño, and lazy style
    Julian F.

We brought in our fresh mahi for the "cook your catch," and it was one of the best meals we've had in the Keys! They prepared our fish three different ways, so everyone got to try something different, and every version was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We each picked our own side and salad, and everything came out hot and tasted great. The staff was friendly, the service was smooth, and they did an awesome job turning our catch into an unforgettable dinner.

This is one of our favorite places to eat down here and come back every time. I would give it a 4.5. Menu is very extensive so there is something for everyone. Lobster is their speciality but tonight we both had lobster and had to use a knife to really saw through the meat. It was quite tough. Still very flavorful. The shrimp and scallops with the meal were delish and cooked perfectly though. To pay that much, it was just a little disappointing. Service was good. The banana bread to start is soo good! The octopus starter was good. Just a heads up, i always bring a light long sleeves. The mosquitos can get annoying. Overall, we will continue to come back!

Finally decided to have an early dinner at one of the iconic restaurants in the upper keys. The backyard is large with plenty of fans to keep you comfortable as you dine. Tables are spaced well and there are plenty of island decorations. The food is island inspired with many lobster and seafood selections. Just like other local restaurants, they cook your catch. There are plenty of selections for not seafood eaters. We went earlier and for a bit had the backyard for ourselves so the service was fine. They have Apple Pay and sell gift certificates.

Started our experience with spicy grilled octopus which was tender with a delicious sweet and spicy glaze. We had the whole fried hog fish, kids shrimp entree and fried coconut yellow fish sandwich. The hogfish was amazing, takes a bit of work to avoid bones. The coconut yellowfish sandwich drew my attention with lingonberry jam, and almond slivers on a Kaiser roll. The potato salad and Cole slaw slides were also pretty great. Service was prompt, friendly; very little wait for food. All in all, nice first meal during our visit to key largo.

We were out here visiting a friend, we're from Southern California. This was in the middle of our week being out there. So had been to a few other places. Our friend said this was a popular spot , so we were looking forward to it especially since other places we've gone to in the keys have been alright leading up to this. Sat outside of course and did enjoy the atmosphere the place had, laid back and still a good amount of people where it didn't feel chaotic, but still enjoyable to be dining around other people. But just like most places we've been to before in the Keys, that our friend has been taking us to. The food here was alright. Got the lobster Mac and cheese , and while the presentation was fun to look at. The taste felt a bit underwhelming. Of course there being 4 adults, and our baby. We tried each other's food, and nothing really stood out at least for myself, as to make much about. Guess the experience and being there with friends and family was more enjoyable than the food. Not that the food was bad, just expected a little more out of it. As far as service it was on par with most places out there, not memorable service but they did their job and were attentive to us.

Great Stop in Key Largo. Lobster is definitely on the menu, but isn't the only thing. Service is spot on with an amazing outdoor seating. Wonderful decor showing the best that the keys has to offer.

They also do catering, they have done party's for my family several times and the food, presentation, not to mention the service was wonderful Love going here because the seafood is always fresh and so many ways to enjoy it! Service is great as well! You feel like family!

Genuinely had a great experience here. Our server was chill & never made us feel rushed & because we have food considerations in our party she took a good bit of time helping guide us with great recommendations & genuinely everything we had was great. We started with the conch ceviche and the lobster jalapeño bites, definitely those lobster bites go hard! Then we had a variety of things from there all were delicious and we'd definitely revisit.

Yes yes yes to Lazy Lobster. This spot is good all day any day. The service is wonderful, the food is great, and the ambiance is keys casual. My favorite appetizer is the Lazy Conch.. this is a must have! If you like lobster, you'll love it here.. if you're not a lobster fan, there are still plenty of options to make you love it here. From the soups, to the apps, mains, and dessert (say YES to the key lime pie here!), everything is delicious. The server can also help you customize or go off menu if needed - they're great with accommodating dietary needs (like gluten free) and/or preferences. Kids meals? This place is very family friendly and they have plenty of options for the kids. The portions are great for big eaters like my son (meanwhile my daughter couldn't eat half).

My whole fried Yellow Tail Snapper after.

On a recent visit to Key Largo our group of seven stopped here for lunch our first day. We all had something different, I had the fish sandwich, and We were all very happy with our meal. We Because we were so happy with our lunch we went back for dinner a couple of days later. The service was very good, our server recognized us from our lunch visit. I had the Whole Fried Yellow Tail Snapper and baked potato. The fish was excellent, nicely fried and a nice size. I also had an Old Fashioned and it was excellent as well. Everyone else enjoyed their meals. If you're in Key Largo, you should check out the Lazy Lobster.

Absolutely Outstanding - A Must-Visit in the Keys! My partner and I had an exceptional dining experience at The Lazy Lobster. We both started with the lobster bites--mine prepared with gluten-free breading and his with jalapeño breading. Both were perfectly cooked, with an ideal crunch and incredible flavor. The lobster itself was tender, sweet, and truly the star of the dish. For our entrée, we each had the Hogfish Matecumbe-style, topped with a delicious blend of chopped tomato, shallots, capers, basil, garlic, lemon, and olive oil. The flavors were fresh, balanced, and unforgettable--hands down the best meal we had during our entire trip through the Keys! Service was just as impressive. Adi was warm, attentive, and very knowledgeable about gluten-free options. She made sure I felt comfortable with my choices and offered excellent recommendations. The decor matches the vibe perfectly--coastal casual with a fun twist. We loved the vibrant taxidermy Florida lobsters adorning the walls. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available, giving you options to enjoy the relaxed Keys atmosphere. We can't recommend The Lazy Lobster highly enough and are already looking forward to returning on our next visit!

If you're looking for a no-fuss, delicious seafood stop in Key Largo, The Lazy Lobster is your spot. We pulled in for lunch on our way farther down the Keys and left totally satisfied. The open-air patio was breezy and relaxed, with plenty of fans to keep things cool--perfect for that "I'm officially on vacation" feeling. We started with the Jalapeño Lobster Bites, and wow--these little crispy bites were packed with flavor. The conch bites were also a win, and the fish tacos and mahi sandwiches hit the spot. (Pro tip: Skip the fries--they were the only miss in an otherwise good meal.) What really made the experience was the service--super friendly and accommodating--and the overall easygoing Keys atmosphere. No pretension, just good food, cold drinks, and a view that makes you want to linger. Worth a stop if you're passing through Key Largo!

We were hunting down a great Lobster Roll as we were visiting the Key Largo area. The Lazy Lobster hit absolutely every point we were looking for! The Lobster roll and Cheeseburger were some of the best we've had, the lobster roll has two types a Thea, Pricilla traditional roll and a variant Lobster Roll with a Lazy Lobster twist which was truly amazing, refreshing and good till the last bite! The service and ambiance is just as amazing as the food! Priscilla, Thea and Tanner were so attentive nice and on top of everything! The Lazy Lobster also have live music and a cool outdoor seating area. If in the area I highly recommend this gem!

But it is worth the detour. We sat at the bar, inside, with a view of the kitchen and cook, but I'd recommend sitting outside if it's not too hot and weather permits. That's a much better view. We started with their fried asparagus appetizer. The stalks were quite thin, and the portion small, but what we had was delicious. Especially tasty when dipped in the horseradish sauce. I'd get this again! After that we shared their fish dish. Two scoops on a plate with chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, and chopped green pepper. The cutest heart shaped crackers came with the dip. We had leftover dip so we took it home with us (in our cooler). We enjoyed it on toast later on. So the very good? The food. The not so good? The kitchen looked grungy and the ladies room was a mess.
