Love this place. I'm horrible with names but the woman who is always at the front desk is so friendly and helpful. They are awesome at giving you paper samples for testing on your own printer. They are the only place I go to now for all my paper products for creating my own photographic prints. Plus they have card stock by Museo that's awesome, plastic sleeves and adhesive backing boards for 5x7 up to 11x14 that I've been using for small prints to sell without a mat board. read more

At 4:00 PM Pacific time yesterday, I placed an order for a roll of paper. At 9:00 AM Pacific time this morning, when they opened, I began calling DAS to cancel the order. It took a few tries, but I got in. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that everyone else is selling Photo Rag 308 17" rolls for about $43.00 less than DAS. (B&H, Freestyle, Adorama) Imaging my shock when their representative got snippy and told me, "You placed the order." In other words, it was my fault that I got ripped off, and it was too late to cancel the order. "It's probably been processed." PROBABLY?! In her defense, I must admit that she did offer to let me return it for a restocking charge. Buy from someone else. Anyone else. read more

This company is a joke, a bad joke... I ordered some rolls of paper from them because my normal supplier was out of stock on an item I needed, this is what I got 1) They spelled my company's name wrong 2) They sent it to a non-existing address - (*75 Sout Street instead of *76 South Street) 3) Their shipping dept. sent 44" x 40' Satin Canvas, even though the packing slip clearly states Matte Canvas 4) The shipping dept. place a reorder sticker over the "Satin Canvas" label on the box itself, so I was unaware it was the wrong item until I open the box 5) The sales person stated he would email me an invoice the day I order (Sept 2.), yet as of two days after receiving the items, I have still received no invoice 6) Because their so called Customer Service does not (by policy) answer the phone, they made me waste even more of my time by requiring me to state these issues in email form. Twenty-four hours later, I have yet to hear from their customer service. 7) I was unable to talk to any manager, superviser, or owner, because they were "at another location". 8) I informed them I would be writing this review if they failed to contact me by the end of the second business day. If you are reading this, then you know that the refuse to talk with clients when they make mistakes. I don't think I have ever encountered a less professional operation then what I have dealt with in doing business with this company. Even the sales person who took the order would not help, insisting he was too busy making sales to be able to help out. A customer service department that sends an email with a phone number and extension on it, ( an email to notify me that they don't answer the phones in customer service) but does not answer, nor call a person back because they require a hard copy to pass around the office. I have used this company for several years but there are some serious problems with them since January 2010. To wit: I placed an order on January 4 expecting the same next day or two day service I had always received (as recently as spring 2009.) I received an email on January 7 confirming the shipment of the items. After ten days I contacted Digital Art Supplies and was told by the sales person they could not help me and someone would call me back. Five days later no call so I contacted them again. The person I spoke to explained they had received a damaged order from Epson but when asked to explain the lack of communications from DAS they explained that the economy had tanked and everyone had been laid off and they could not keep track of their customers. This person stated she was doing the jobs previously done by three people and did not know how to do them. This was three days ago and I have not received any calls to the daily message I leave asking for a manager to call me. My credit card was charged almost $800 for supplies I have not received and I am more than concerned about the legitimacy of the organization. When I asked if they has changed ownership or managment, the sales person refused to answer repeating her complaint that everyone has been laid off. WARNING: Find another supplier or risk never getting your product. read more

If I could give this company a zero I would. While they have one of the best selections of digital printing papers around, everything about the way the company is run is like a bad a horror movie. In my case they sent me a shipment that was designated on the email a another paper type that I could not use. In 24 hours of repeated emails they could not address the problem. I told them that I would have to refuse the shipment, and order from another company as I needed the paper for a rush job. They charged my credit card anyway. I disputed the charge as the shipment was returned to them unopened. The credit card company eventually found in my favor and deleted the charge. Before taking it up with the credit card company, I sent a registered letter to the owner outlining in detail my (very unpleasant) experience with various staff people who had told me the owner was too busy to talk to an unhappy customer. That letter was refused. It's really hard to imagine what they are thinking or what greater lengths I could have gone to resolve the problem. My wife and I have been coming here for years to get paper. This is the ONLY game in town when it comes to sourcing Museo Max and other fine art papers. I can't believe we've never thought to yelp review them before now. Don't know what the previous reviewer is talking about, but they are attentive to a fault. Came in to buy an Epson 3000 printer, left with a 3880 and a much better understanding of the difference between the two printers. The 3880 will save you loads of money over its life compared to a 3000. After having spent the last 7 years with an Epson R1800 that runs out of ink if you sneeze in the same room with it, I can appreciate real ink cartridges. Also, when NO ONE else was offering a $300 rebate, Digital Art Supplies came through. But that is a single purchase during a rebate offer period. It is the willingness to take the time to explain how to use my screen calibrator, my printer, my paper, etc. that makes the difference here. You can buy anything but service on the internet. You don't have to buy service at Digital Art Supplies, it is freely given. In a conversation with one of the managers, I mentioned that I need to buy a cheap as chips printer for printing out directions and the like as it sucks using a $1500 printer for something so trivial. He said he had a laser printer that didn't have drivers for windows anymore and that I could have it and voila, I am printing trivial stuff on my Mac. These guys rock! I will be a customer as long as they are in business (please make that a very long time!) read more

Have used this company for over 6 years & I am stunned by these comments. I have found the staff to always be helpful & go way beyond the call of duty to get me products and/or solve problems. The technical support doesn't get any better than what Steve offers. As far as talking to the owners....exactly who is the 'owner' in a corporation ? My last review seemed to have been deleted but basically what it said was I highly recommend DAS! I consider myself to be a very amateur outdoor photographer so whenever I have questions about a new paper I want to try or if Im researching a printer they are always very helpful and understanding. I usually place a couple orders a year with them and am always happy with the service. I appreciate the personalized attention they are able to give me, something I don't get from any big name place.
