Highly recommend for anyone who needs film processing and scans - I hadn't shot film in 25 years and did a test roll with my Hasselblad to make sure everything was working before a shoot in NY. They provided rush service and the processing was ready the next morning. The final shoot was processed and full framed scanned (shows the film frame on the 6x6 format) - very nice option! They were incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire process. I had previously tried printing my photos at CVS and Office Depot, but the results were disappointing. Blurry and completely unusable. At this shop, I paid around $11 for two 5x7 prints, and the difference was night and day. The quality was outstanding; crystal clear and exactly what I needed. I was especially grateful that they were able to accommodate my last-minute request on a Friday and had the prints ready within an hour after I explained I needed them for Saturday. Been coming here for all my film developing and scanning needs almost exclusively since 2021 after I was recommended by a friend, never looked back since. Quick/reasonable turnarounds? Amazing dev & scan work? Nicest and friendliest people ever? Best lab in LA? Yes, yes, yes, and yes! I visit frequently to request dev/scan for both 35mm and 120 film, and no matter the job or film stock (sometimes I use more off-brand or experimental stocks) they are always so helpful, accomodating, and knowledgeable. Such a joy to receive the digital scans in my inbox after every visit. Often sends me a message or gives me a call in the very rare instance that something is delayed, not that it's ever a problem to begin with given the quick turnaround times. Love visiting here and it's often the highlight of my day on top of the fantastic work and services they provide. How on earth had I not reviewed @thatonephotolab ?! (their IG handle -- look it up) This humble shop, run by a family and situated in the back of a parking lot in Glendale, is an absolute treasure of the creative community in Los Angeles. And the world, actually, because you might be shocked to learn of the number of world-renowned photographers who insist on working solely with @thatonephotolab -- and the number of billboards, magazine covers, editorials and fine art photograph that comes in through these doors and heads out as prints and scans. I have been a photographer for over 20 years, and during that time, I've seen family-owned photolabs flourish within their niche, then close and digital took over. Going to the usual places that survived in Hollywood, I got my film processed and scanned, but something was missing. The personalized touch. The conversations, the workshop feeling. The idea of small businesses supporting the vibrant LA creative community just wasn't there. I was just another customer. Then in 2020, a friend told me about Digital Photo Printing & Studio. To give you an example of how dedicated she was to this lab -- she rode her bike from Hollywood to Glendale to get her film processed. And this woman, in addition to being a Leica photographer, was an international model and outdoor sports athlete. She could have gone anywhere. I tried them out and was blown away by the quality of the scans, the options, the prices and the people. I got flat, high-res flat scans for less than I would pay for lo-res elsewhere. And the work is beautiful! Their options are clearly scaled for the working photographer, with things like full-frame scans (with the edges of the frame intact) as free options -- other places just shake their heads. Cathy and Austin are kind, passionate about photography--they'll often share exited comments about the latest batch and you can tell it is coming from an honest place--and they take the time to know you and your work. I had a great experience at this small but efficient studio. I needed passport photos for the United Kingdom and they knew exactly what I needed. They told me I could walk in and they would take care of me. I walked in, paid for the photos and then sat down immediately And they took the photos. They showed me options to be sure I was satisfied with the one I preferred. Then, within 20 minutes they had the digital copy emailed to me and the printed version to take with me in an envelope. This is such a special place in LA. The people who work here truly care about each roll they process, and they ACTUALLY deliver on 24-hour processing (and via WeTransfer which is such a huge bonus, as you don't have to pickup your rolls in order to get your scans). I have been going to them for about six months, and have always been appreciative of the quick turnaround, but this last time was really something special. I shot a roll of 35mm Film Soup, which is essentially a roll of film that has been treated to have colorful aberrations. However, the treatment was too intense for the film, and essentially ripped off all of the film emulsion, so to the naked eye, the entire roll looked ruined. When I called to ask why they hadn't delivered those scans, Cathy explained the problem to me. She went wayyy beyond "great customer service" into the realm of Incredible Human. She used the top bed scanner to scan the individual rolls, and they looked incredible!!!! She LITERALLY saved my shoot, and the stills she was able to salvage were truly a work of art. Plus, the resolution of the top bed scanner was insanely high, better than most medium format scans I've received from other labs. read more

I miss y'all! My friend recommended this lab to me while I was staying in Burbank for a couple of months, and the staff were so personable and clearly care about what they do. I appreciated receiving a phone call one day about a few frames I was getting scanned which had been developed elsewhere. They just wanted to let me know about some small imperfections on the negatives from the lab before them, of which I already happened to be aware, and then we just chatted for a bit, and they complimented me on another roll I was getting processed. QUICK (same day/next day development & scans!), professional, efficient, courteous, and competitive prices!!! Came here on a whim needing to get some 120 film processed. Not only are the prices here the cheapest in Southern California, they are super friendly and answer any questions you may have about the process. You basically drop off your film (in and out in a JIFF!), and they develop it ASAP, with most of my prints sent to me via email in hi-res within the same day! Had some of my other rolls (that were developed elsewhere) scanned here because they did such a good job. I've had nothing but good experiences working with this photo lab, and will continue to drop off, develop, and scan film here while I'm in the area. I just recently moved to Eagle Rock and was in need a of a new photo lab. Originally from Long Beach, I couldn't make the commute to my old spot. I'm very glad to have found this place! It's a small lab in a strip mall, but the quality of work they do here is great! My old place in OC would take up to a week to scan my rolls, but here I'm able to get my scans by 5-6 PM at the latest. The prices are great and they don't toss your negatives!
