Pros: Vibes were there with the music, decent sized lounge where you don't feel people are on top of you, inside was clean and nice decor The menus didn't have any prices or descriptions which left room for a lot of questions. Our server wasn't too knowledgeable of the menu..at least know what the diko special is. She did check in enough but never offered water. The manager was just sitting chilling and never checked in on any tables The drinks were very mid and tasted artificial, which I found odd for a strawberry margarita and blue motorcycle. Unfortunately I had to ask for the blue motorcycles to be remade. it looked like a blue Powerade and tasted only like blue curaçao. My sisters boyfriend wasn't thrilled with his old fashioned. He shared his mozzarella sticks and veggie rolls were fine, nothing to rave about. The hookah flavor was what it should have been. They did come check on the coal without prompting. Now the check was confusing. There was 2 different taxes and when we asked the server she was also unaware. The vibes here were absolutely immaculate, especially on a chilly Christmas night. It wasn't crowded, but the staff was friendly, the music was great, and it was a cozy, chill, and enjoyable atmosphere to relax in. The drinks are a teeny bit pricey, but still good. The hookah is also really good. They have a short menu of flavor combinations available, so if you're into just one particular type or one particular flavor, that might be something you want to keep in mind before ordering. The patrons are also really nice. I met a couple of really nice people there and we ended up hanging out together for the majority of the evening. I did not get to try the food since I had already eaten before I arrived, but it looked and smelled incredible. One of my new friends ordered some kind of beef dish with slices of injera bread. When her food arrived, I was kicking myself for having eaten before I arrived. Oh well, next time. I can't overstate how nice the staff is. They really help to set a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The establishment was clean, cozy, and offered a variety of seating options including couches, oversized leather chairs, two-top tables, and bar seating. The only complaint I have is that the couches are somewhat uncomfortable. The back of the couches are not cushioned enough and I had to put my coat behind me to get comfortable. Maybe they might want to put some pillows on the couches or something to make them a little bit more comfortable. Other than that, I had an amazing time. I'm definitely coming back soon. read more

The drinks are moderately priced, with a fully stocked bar. Diko was very inviting, she gave us the history of her name and her experience as an owner. Would not recommend coming here. My friends are charged hundreds of dollars for JUST drinks with no explanation. I wanted to give it a try to support a local business and the lady that greeted us at the door was rude and unprofessional. Our group of four was prepared to spend good money, but we immediately left after no longer being able to take that lady's attitude... Only to find out SHE WAS THE OWNER. So, we decided to check out Diko Hookah Bar, lured by the promise of a cool, relaxed vibe. Reality check: it felt more like crashing a club where the volume's cranked to max. You'd think you're there to kick back with friends and a hookah, but nah, you're actually auditioning for a lip-reading contest thanks to the blasting music. The place was not crowded, as expected for a Saturday night, which should've been our first hint. We just wanted a simple hookah experience, but the waiter seemed more interested in pushing drinks before we could even glance at the food menu--which, by the way, was not very elaborate by any means. We tried to backtrack on the hookah order after realizing food options were slim, but apparently, that was a bigger commitment than we thought and couldn't be cancelled even though it was only 3-4 minutes. The hookah arrived a few more minutes, and by then, we were already plotting our escape from the noise and just decided to take our loses, pay and leave. When we asked for the bill, we got slapped with an extra "$10 per person" charge we never saw coming. Apparently, each hookah only covers 2 person, and since it's 4 of us we have to pay the upcharge, which they forgot mention before we ordered. Trying to resolve it felt like negotiating peace talks between, only with a manager who couldn't care less. Ended up paying just to get out and promised ourselves never to return. This spot had some good hookah which we enjoyed. The staff was attentive and on point with making our drink orders. Also changing our coals for our hookah frequently.. my prob was I order a rail rum and coke.. but was charged for an expensive drink on my tab. I had 4 of theses drinks.. they charged me 15 for each. So I'll start by saying this isn't a super fancy instagram photo worthy lounge but it's the perfect local lowkey spot. It's generally a pretty chill vibe on most days, I'd say Thursday-Saturday are probably the more lively nights here. It's a smaller spot a few couches and a few tables surround the bar in the center with a few TV's above it. On a given night you might hear anything from island based music to one of the customers playing their favorite top 40 hip/hop and r&b playlist, but they also have DJ's on a given night as well. Service is usually solid everyone is pretty friendly there and the owner (Diko) is really good about being present and engaging with all her customers. They offer happy hour from 3pm-8pm, the food is pretty solid whether it's the items like standard chicken wings or any of the Ethiopian dishes. They offer hookah ($15 during happy hour) as well which I'd say is probably some of the higher quality hookah I've had locally, so whenever you're in the area definitely pop in and check them out. read more
