I told my significant other the first time we came here that I didn't feel comfortable rating this place. It's more of his spot. I didn't want to rate it with my opinion when I don't smoke cigars. Fast forward to this past Memorial Day weekend, we came back. I was shocked to see the place so empty on a Holiday. I saw familiar faces in there. I also saw the "family"environment. Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you came You wanna go where people know People are all the same You wanna go where everybody knows your name. Yup I literally sang that song! lol Hope you did too! Loved the band playing on Monday, was different from the last band. Great variety. Overall there are just a bunch of men smoking cigars. Some women do come in but usually they are smoking too or are with significant others. The smoke never makes me feel icky. It's super ventilated. This is definitely a cigar bar, lounge, bar all in one. I'd say I wouldn't come with my girls but I would most definitely accompany my beau! So Ladies if your man is trying to drag you here, you'll be happy. I know I am! Super comfy vibe! Great bartenders and super clean! Woman's restroom is alway CLEAN!

Stumbled across this gem while in Old Town. Visited on a Wednesday night around 8pm. This place was huge. We sat at the bar for a nightcap. Marlon took phenomenal care of us. He was very informative on the cigar selections and suggested the perfect one to pair with our tequila! There was a live blues and jazz band. There is plenty of seating to see the band. The level with the band is where patrons are allowed to smoke cigars. There is also a smoking area on the basement level with a dj! They have a couple of dining rooms which are on a smoke free level. Great atmosphere! I look forward to returning and trying the southern cuisine!

Walked in a little before midnight on a rainy Saturday night. We got a great table right up front. The ambiance was really chill. The smell of cigars was in the air. I am generally repulsed by smoke, but it was subtle and didn't offend me. Even at nearly midnight the customer service was really good. The drinks were okay. The band sounded great. I would definitely recommend for a chill late night vibe.

Some changes in bar staff, some for the better, others not. Still a good place to smoke a stick or two.

We love this place. The atmosphere is amazing, the other people that come are fun and it's just always a good time. Basin has a great cigar and whiskey list. It's just a great time! The bartenders are great and they come clear the items and check on you. We love it!

Taking a Monday night stroll I came upon this spot. Free admission and the band was phenomenal. The bartender was friendly and I enjoyed myself there. Great for solo, couples or a group.

Stopped in here to listen to some music and smoke cigars. Was seated close to the stage and wish we had sat farther back. Got bumped quite a bit and a group came in and lingered behind us. Otherwise, enjoyed the band that was playing there, the server was very nice and liked the overall vibe. Just need to remember to pick an area that is less trafficked next time. An awkward setup is the restrooms are upstairs and you need to pass through the side of the stage. Gets tricky when they are in a middle of a set.

WHAT A ONE-STOP SHOP!!!!!…read more 219 is a VA gem, that I personally don't want too many people knowing about. The bottom floor - the Bayou Bar. The middle floor - dining within 219. And the top floor? - the performance space and the side cigar lounge! When I say there is something for everyone at this location, you could not miss going here. My friend and I made reservations via Open Table and had no issue making our allotted time, neither did 219 with having our table ready upon our arrival. Our server was super attentive, giving all of his best recommendations, including the jambalaya, and wings! (Both pictured). We were also seated by the window which was surprisingly not cold (the fireplace was also not lit this night), and was able to have a nice view of the street! She and I love people watching, and this was nice! Loved this place, and took our drinks right upstairs to the jazz performance where we spent another hour or so. Greaaaat performers come, along with great sounds! It's set up as a first come, first serve basis so please come early! 219 is a great place to come for a cozy. comfortable night!

Given the size of the upstairs I'm glad we came right upstairs first. As it is very very small and tight. It's first come and first serve. Ordered wings fries and crab soup. The wings were okay from what my friend said. The soup could be better. It needed old bay seasoning and more crab. It was very bland. Too much scallions in it. It was like eating scallion cream soup. For $15 it could have been better. The drinks. They put too too much ice in them. My whiskey sour turned into water sour. My friend's old fashioned was old ice with orange and cherry bitters. Very disappointing. Even with the food and drinks not being the best the music was on point. The band was awesome. The space is very very tight and limited so you will need to arrive early if you want to sit by the band. But there is also seating at the bar down the hall. And the balcony seating does not do any justice as you can't see band only hear them. They could expand if possible. I gave it 2 stars due to the food and drinks. The music pushed it to 3. I may go back but do things different depending on the time we go. And bring our own cigars is a must. It's definitely a jewel in the Old Town neighborhood. Stop by to see the band and bring your cigars. And order drinks with light to mo ice.

It was delicious and the cheddar grits were good too. Paired together, it was a good portion size and the price was reasonable considering the amount of crab. My only slight complaint is there were a handful of small crab shell bits in there. I also tried the Fried Green Tomatoes ($11), which were pretty good as well. The place itself has a nice chill cozy vibe with an old fashioned wooden theme. There are 2 levels to the restaurant with a bar on the upper level. I ordered a side Caesar salad, new England clam chowder, and their crab sandwich with fries. Food just wasn't great. Considering I haven't eaten all day, I feel like that's saying a lot. The Caesar was ok but I wouldn't get it again. The clam chowder .... Nope, had way better. The bartender said they were known for their crab cake. Um their sandwich wasn't horrible but I wouldn't get it again. They should of had some tartar sauce with it... the fries were actually pretty good. I had a ginger beer there and that was good as well. Bartender was fast, social, great communication and honestly the only reason I'd come back for a drink or something. The food was great. There were 11 of us at the table . I had the La Porta pasta and my girlfriend had the chicken volt. I have sautéed spinach. We all tasted the lemon cello cake and it was divine. I hate when that kind of meal is ruined by little things which soured the experience. The service was fine- NOT worth 25%! My friend was promised a discount on her meal- she was responsible for bringing over 20 of us to dinner. They said, "Oh, we're not giving discounts tonight because of the band." When I asked if there was Jazz Daily, I was told yes - What? On the menu, it says that there's a 20% gratuity added, so imagine our surprise when we got our checks and there was a 25%. Gratuity for each of us. We were then told that anytime there's a request for separate checks, there's a 25% gratuity. When we advised the Manager, she did adjust the checks. I didn't feel welcome and so I won't be coming back. There are just too many options for good Italian food in old town.

We made the 1 hour and 10 minute drive to Virginia and were seated immediately in the section we reserved, which featured a 3-course meal priced at $125 per person. Unfortunately, the service started off a bit slow. After waiting about 20-25 minutes without being greeted or offered water, I had to flag down the first person who made eye contact, who happened to be a busser. Shortly after, Adonnas, who was friendly and welcoming with a warm smile came over to take our drink order. Nina then took over as our server for the remainder of the evening. I ordered a Painkiller, which was well-balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. For my appetizer, I had the mushroom caps, which were flavorful with a hearty, meaty filling. My entrée, however, was underwhelming. I had the braised trout with a rice cake and sautéed spinach. The trout itself lacked flavor, but adding some of the seafood thermidor sauce from my husband's dish helped elevate it. The fish would definitely benefit from having its own sauce. Dessert was carrot cake, which was enjoyable. The ambiance was one of the highlights of the evening. The dim lighting created a romantic and intimate setting, and the spacious room, with its mirrored backdrop which allowed for easy conversation without competing noise. The live jazz band truly added a special touch to the experience. One area for improvement would be the restroom setup. With only two unisex bathrooms, guests waiting were positioned in a way that interfered with servers moving through with food. Overall, the experience was just okay. While there were some enjoyable elements, I'm not certain I would return but I wouldn't completely rule it out either.
