The food here was GREAT. I had a cod sandwich, and everything about it was awesome (I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!). My boyfriend really enjoyed his fish and chips as well.
Where the restaurant fell short was the service, which was pretty horrendous. There were two servers on and the restaurant was about 3/4 of the way full. It took about 20 minutes before we were approached to take our order, and once we did we waited almost 45 minutes for the food.
This would have been fine, as we were on vacation and had all afternoon to do as we pleased, except we were not approached a single time in that 45 minute period. No one asked us if we wanted another drink (which we did), or came by to refill our water (which was empty). No one stopped by and said our food would be right out, or to ask us if everything was good. At the 40-minute mark, we stopped our waitress as she passed by and asked if she could find out how much longer. She went back to check and came out with food for two other tables who arrived and ordered after us. Once we did receive our food, she didn't come by to make sure we had everything (we didn't have cutlery or napkins) or to see if everything was good.
Besides being incredibly slow, there were two things that kind of put us off:
1. From our table, we could see into the back room, where one of the waitresses was preparing a dessert for a customer. We watched her put it in the microwave, heat it, then remove it, stick her finger in it, lick the finger and put it back in the microwave. She then repeated this a second time. (Eww!)
2. One of the waitresses was literally running around the restaurant. Running from one end to the other, and not just once or twice, but constantly the entire time we were eating. It is not a large space, and there were quite a few people and the running made it feel very stressful and chaotic.
I would probably still recommend this restaurant because the food was SO good, but go expecting to be there a while. And maybe don't order dessert... read more
