Been wanting to try this place for a very long time and came here with a group of friends. Made a reservation online and made a correction to the reservation and never got a return call to acknowledge my change so we were going in hoping everything would work out. The winery is stunning. One of the best landscapes in Paso. Very nice views. Definitely shows off the best of west side paso. The winery itself has some awesome art on the walls. Very cool spot. The person who served us was solid and attentive and worked to our timing to get next winery. Also had some knowledge of other wineries which was nice to hear. Wines unfortunately didnt live up to my expectations. The roussanne was good a good start but my palate didn't connect with the reds very well. The 2018 Gernache was downright awful. The last two reds were good but nothing worth taking home unfortunately. With all the good reviews I was hoping my palate would experience what other had experienced. As with all wine reviews I do, I will always encourage people to try this winery for themselves as its a small business and we need to do all we can to support them. Very relaxed tasting. Disclaimer - I feel like there's always so many different opinions of wine tastings because our palates differ so much and I personally like the wines that come from willow creek area (I'm a huge fan of GSMs), so my rating is heavily based on service. A few of their wines are 100% varietals which I thought was unique compared to other wines in the area. I enjoyed the wines from here, their white wines were the most refreshing, perfect for a warm sunny day! Our server, Bob, was friendly and gave us some background on the winery. He was also attentive and gave us an extra tasting because I casually mentioned being unfamiliar with a certain varietal. The bottles are priced a little higher than others in the area but they are unique and taste great. Dilecta Winery is so special. The sparkling wine is crisp and refreshing, and the red blends? Absolutely delicious. Smooth, rich, and full of character. Each bottle has its gorgeous artwork, making them feel like collectibles. André, the winemaker, clearly loves what he does. Stopped by this winery on our latest Paso excursion. The grounds are beautiful with nice outdoor seating, however it was over 100 degrees on the day we visited so no one was tasting outside. We of course tasted inside and were helped by a diminutive, quirky older woman who turned out to not only be the winemakers mother but also the artist who painted the art that Dilecta uses for its labels. The paintings weren't really for me but art is subjective so maybe other people love them. The wines we tasted were good but nothing was really outstanding or amazing. We ended up buying a bottle of their 2018 Unorthodox. Funny enough that is precisely the word I would use to describe the woman who helped us. read more

Out of all the winery we went to Dilecta was our least favorite. I'm still give them four stars because of the staff were pleasant and accommodating. It's another kid and dog friendly winery with and beautiful outside patio with the views of the valley. As far for the tasting. To me their wines were very tart tasting for me so i really didn't care much for it. Their tasting is $15 for 5 tasting and waive with two bottles purchase. read more

We had been members of Dilecta since 2020. This year has been tough financially and I emailed the new owner, Paloma to cancel our membership after I noticed the charge to my credit card. This was over a month before wines were to be shipped out. Instead of thanking me for being a customer and inviting me back when I am ready she would not refund my payment. Most wine clubs charge you when they ship your wine. Dilecta thinks it is OK to charge your card 6 weeks before shipping out the wine. I would think twice about joining this club. The two stars is because the wine itself deserves 4 stars but the customer treatment is a minus 2. read more

The drive to get here is totally worth it. When walking up to the tasting room we were greeted by the resident greeter, Able, a friendly golden retriever. The tasting room is cozy and decorated with their labels and colorful spray painted hearts. Orion, owner and winemaker greeted us and took us through the tasting. Most of the wines had Syrah in them. The grapes are from a few locations: Paso, Santa Barbara, and Santa Ynez. The 1 white he had was a lovely chardonnay. The others were red blends or 100% Syrah. All the wines were smooth and well made. There is even a nice patio area to relax in. Definitely worth the drive to taste some great wines. read more

Loved our tasting here. We were lucky enough to be the only folks in the tasting room when we arrived, and our host was super friendly and cool, with tons of tidbits about the wines we were tasting. The owner of the vineyard paints all of the insanely beautiful wine labels herself - how badass is that?? I wish I had gotten to meet her. The wines are gorgeous and full-bodied reds. We ended up bringing home three bottles, and I am considering joining their wine club (something I never do). It's a smaller, lesser known tasting room in Paso, but I highly recommend it! I'm so glad Wine Wrangler put it on our radar. read more

We've been here a few times with friends who are members. I think the location is nice, good views of the valley! Parking is a bit sparse, so hope you can grab a spot. The tasting room interior is small and standing room only. There is a bar and you can stand outside at it, or sit at chars on the patio around the bar. There is also a side covered patio as well. They sometimes have a food truck and/or music. I think the wines here are good but not great. The servers are polite and friendly enough. I would probably not come here on my own but enjoy tastings when I do stop by. read more

Hadn't been here in about four years. We used to come here when this winery was called something different. I think it was called Stanger Vineyards and Poalillo Vineyards but now it's Dilecta Wines. Dilecta is off the beaten path and on the back roads of Paso Robles/Templeton. We were in the area today visiting other wineries and stopped in to check out this new place. The wines were good. Orion (the owner) was very friendly. We enjoyed playing with his Golden Retriever as we sampled his wines. As with pretty much all the wineries around here these days, $15 tasting fee. Dilecta was recommended by a wine friend as a place we needed to try. Afterall Orion the winemaker is apparently a rock star of the wine world. With Italian winemaking background and a certified sommelier to boot, Orion worked with amazing local winemakers like that of Eric Jensen at Booker. We made our way on a lazy weekday mid-morning and were instantly greeted by their friendly wine dog, a gorgeous Golden Retriever. A few cats came to say hello as well. I love a winery with friendly animals! We were alone in tasting that morning and had no problems with parking. We were able to explore with ease. It's a lovely winery with great views and a casual atmosphere. Inside, the tasting room was quite warm. Just on the edge of being uncomfortably so. But with a few cool coastal breezes we were okay. I can't say I loved the wines. Perhaps it's my dislike for Syrah, which is the majority of wines here. But I did appreciate the care and attentiveness that went into them. And while I didn't purchase any bottles, I'd be interested to return in a year or two to see what Orion has up his sleeve. I'm sure it'll be good. read more

This winery was definitely a highlight of our trip. If you like small atmosphere, intimate conversations with the winemaker himself, and a wine dog (Abel the Golden Retriever) then this is perfect spot for you. We started off with a hazy chardonnay which was fantastic. I had never tried a hazy unfiltered chardonnay before and was pleasantly surprised and ended up purchasing. We also really enjoyed their 100% Syrah (it was the best Syrah of our trip). You're also able to purchase art inside (the winemakers mother did it all herself!) and you can draw all over their glow in the dark bathroom with glow in the dark pens. Which could be a downside since I spent probably 10 min in the bathroom drawing a masterpiece while my boyfriend patiently waited inside, confused as to whether or not I was "ok in there" :) 10/10 would visit again. read more

My wife and I had a great time at Dilecta. The tasting room decor is rustic but very cool. They had artwork from Betty Wick, the mother of the winemaker. We bought two of her drawings. Very Van Gogh-esque. Her drawings are displayed around the tasting room and Betty was there to tell us about her inspiration for her artwork. The wines were all very good. We really liked their Unorthodox, Tiller and Cookie. These are all Syrah blends but not like the typical GSMs. They used Petite Verdot, Cab Sauv in these blends. The reds were big - full of flavor but not just tannins giving them a bite. Probably could lay them down for a few years. The young lady working the tasting room was awesome. She was knowledgeable, upbeat and engaging. My wife and I always enjoy talking about the wine, the winemaker and the winery. This young lady was a great source of info and it really seemed like a small family run winery. We like the small producers and family run businesses so we enjoyed the conversation like just hanging out in someone's living room drinking wine. The prices were all reasonable (between $48-62) and the $15 tasting fee was waived with the purchase of two bottles. I highly recommend Dilecta. read more

Morgan at Clos Solene turned us on to Orion's winery. So glad she did because it was probably our top tasting all week along with Clos Solene. Rarely with how so many wineries have grown in Paso area do you get the winemaker doing his own pours! We loved hearing about his history and his mother's influence and support, along with seeing her own artwork featured on his labels and in the tasting room. We would have joined the club but our friends did so we are hoping they share when it ships! We may have to join next time we are up. Don't get many chances to get in on a good wine early, and this will be one that I can see growing in popularity. Even those pouring at other wineries told us they were excited about his wines. Well, they got me. This was my 2nd visit to Dilecta and the wines are so delicious, the staff so friendly, and the location is so cool, so I signed up for the wine club membership! The location is very small and intimate, which I like better than a huge winery filled with people. The murals in the actual tasting room and on the bottles are so unique, its almost like you're also going to an art gallery.
