This Dillard's location is exceptional! Love the huge collection and shoe size availability. The sales rep in the shoe department was so helpful! Moving over to fragrance, Jerome (?) was equally helpful. He helped me select my summer fragrance. He took me through the whole collection of Creed, Valentino, and then settled on Kosmala! He was never annoyed at my indecisiveness, so patient and kind, and eventually we got to the perfect one! He also gave me samples. Loved the staff and collections! read more

I've been doing a lot of online shopping in the past year. Dillard's is my go-to spot lately for online ordering. They are the next best bet in Chattanooga since there isn't a Nordstrom nearby. I recently purchased a few new winter clothes and costume jewelry accessories. The online process is quick, as well as delivery is swift. We shop a bit in the men's department store the Hamilton Place location. The clothing selections are always great, the sales are good and the staff are wonderful. Freda has an immense amount of experience from what I can tell. She works in the men's fragrance section. She helped me find the perfect cologne I needed and I am so thankful for her. Being new in the area I just stopped at the mall and felt like going into Dillard's. I found the thing that I needed. Of course, fragrances aren't inexpensive but finding the right one is worth the time and money. read more

He does a fantastic job of teaching what's in style/appropriate, what cut will fit & look best, what tie to wear, etc. It's so nice to have someone we can trust pull all of that together. This store has affordable upper end brands that have reasonable quality. It's well stocked and there is very good customer service without pressure. Yes, everything goes on sale, but if you play that game your size may be gone. I've been able to get some great clothes at reduced prices. I hope this store stays in Chattanooga and is successful. This store does a great job of keeping inventory of brand named clothing lines like Polo and Clarks shoes and Michael Kors. They offer sales to entice you in and they are ok. I shop here because I know they will have what I need, if I have them dollars. The ladies section has a plus size and many styles of shoes. Was told I had 30 days to return items. I had asked store to hold items as they were closing but they said just purchase them and bring back what dorsnt fit well. I returned 7 days later. i was not aware one $67 item was a 3 day return so they refused to credit that item. This was their error as the worker stated I had 30 days. Not happy with the jack of good customer service. read more

Asinine. I waited twenty minutes in customer service to get cash back on a return. Never in my life. Will not shop again. Lost customer because of this delusional system where register attendants can't give cash back? Have to go to customer service where one sassy lady is working wrapping gifts AND giving cash returns?? in no reasonable order. Use your logic and get the people in line who have cash returns first then wrap the presents. Or hire a second person, DILLARDS! Please tel me why it took me half an hour to go up and down escalators to return this to the correct department then find customer service and the angry woman working there. I usually do most of my shopping online. The store is OK. There a decent variety of clothing, but the store is usually understaffed and they don't have sales except for end of the season sales. So, I usually end up buying the same item at another department store that has sales throughout the season. Their return policy is 30 days, and most stores have a longer return period, especially if you use their credit card. I had to return something there a few years back after my mom had died. With everything I had to do as executor of her estate, plus the grief, I was 3 days over the 30 days. Explaining this to the female store manager fell on deaf ears. She was rude and could have cared less. I ended up having to keep the item and sold it on Ebay for substantially less than what I paid, but at least I got some of my money back. This summer, I bought three new items of Eileen Fisher clothing. I checked Dillards first and then went to Belk who had the same items on sale, so I purchased them there.My big beef is with them online. Most online stores these days have free shipping and/or exchanges, or at least free exchanges. Dillard's has only had one promotional shipping discount I can remember in the past few years, and you had to by something from Fossil to get it. So, I bought a men's Fossil belt and returned it to the store. That was 2 or 3 years ago. What has me riled up today is that I bought a pair of pants online because they were the only store that had them left. No doubt because all of the other stores with free shipping had already sold out. When I got them, they were a bit large, so I called today to request to exchange them for a smaller size. I was informed by the order associate that I would still have to pay shipping on the new exchange item. Just to clarify, I asked her if I had to pay shipping on the first item that didn't fit, and the new exchange item, and I was told that I would. Their shipping charges are expensive, too. Plus, the more you buy, or the more expensive your item is, the more shipping you pay. Most stores reward you for spending more by giving shipping discounts over a certain dollar figure like $100 - $150. At Dillards, you are penalized. So, for this new pair of pants I bought, I have paid double shipping. To top things off, it is Monday and I and leaving to go on vacation Saturday. I want to take them on vacation, so I had to pay an additional $10 of 2 day shipping. Otherwise,it might not get here by Friday. So altogether, I have paid $27 in shipping charges for one pair of pants. If I didn't really love the pants I would tell Dillard's to keep them and find something elsewhere that doesn't gouge the customer on shipping. I seriously doubt after this that I will ever order anything from Dillard's online again. I'd rather do without than feel like I'm not value as a customer. That's what it all boils down to. I have been treated like they don't really need me as a customer. The only reason I am giving Dillard's one star is because I have to, and because the store associates, except for the manager, have always been very nice and helpful. It's no their fault they work for a store that could care less about happy customers. read more
