Today in Fairview, Texas, I attempted to return a pair of new shoes with my receipt in hand. The sales associate indicated that the exact debit card used for the original purchase was required, otherwise they would only issue me credit on a card. My wallet had been stolen recently, and all of my cards were cancelled. Upon requesting to speak with the manager, he/or she told the associate to tell me, "no". He/she did not even have the courtesy to speak with me in person; only stating to the associate to tell me, "no" over the telephone. Dillards pretty much ripped me off and provided extremely poor customer service. They received money from my bank already and refused to give it back two weeks later. ~08-19-22~Friday morning. 4 employees working in Handbags. 3 of them huddled around the register while the other employee is directly behind them stocking. ALL 4 employees make eye contact with me. Not 1 single employee asked if I needed help? I mean, I don't mind y'all riding the clock, but cover your azz, and help customers. I looked around quickly as I was trying to get to Oklahoma. Since they couldn't speak, I approached the 4th employee who was still stocking. They ALL see me walking towards their little huddle. I pass them and they still ignore me, so I ask the 4th employee if they have what I was looking for? That's when the ring leader can finally speak, and advises me they don't have the tote I was looking for. I had picked up a wallet, and they sent me to another register where the 4th employee could ring me up. Lastly, thanks for not offering to help/order the tote for me, since I saw it at another Dillards, which I advised y'all. The conversation they were having was too good to be interrupted. As I left to continue shopping, they were still huddled up. Saturday, my daughter and I went online and bought 3 totes, and 2 purses online from the manufacturer. This is the most racist store I have ever went been to was here to shop for baby clothes for my grand baby and was followed by security the entire time we was there. Terrible customer service after being stoked by security we could even find anyone to help us check out on top of that we wasn't greeted coming nor was we told goodbye after we purchase something. This Dillards has stepped up their game recently!! First: Great job cleaning up the floor. It looks much better. The inventory is refreshed and more trendy. Allen department stores tend to cater to our older demographic. This specific Dillards brought in enough newer inventory that both my partner and I could get a fresh 2023 wardrobe with modern fashion trends. Side note: Thank the Lord baggy hip hop pants are back and I never have to wear skinny jeans again! Tip: The staff at Polo counter was amazing. She just kept bringing us more sale items to try. Went to this Dillards the Saturday before Easter and had the best experience! This store had the most staff and customers I had seen in it in a while. We were greeted in every section and then left to shop at our own pace. The women's section upstairs has started carrying many more options for plus size which is great. Many 2X and 3X options were very cute and current. I ended up purchasing two beautiful dresses on clearance for a total of $70, a steal! read more

I love me some Dillard's and this location lived up to my expectations! It is in Allen, a bit aways from my area, but it is a nice store with some upbeat and helpful employees even on what I am sure is one of their busiest and crazy days. If you don't know about Dillard's New Year Day Sale, you should. This is an annual event where Dillard's takes everything that's on sale and pretty much marked it down another 50%. Some things are even marked down even more. An example of my savings, I got 6 shirts that normally retailed for about 575.00 for only 155.00. As you might imagine, this sale brings a crowd, so come early for the best selection. Like I said, this Store is not in my normal area but I will not hesitate to come back here because of the great employees and a very nice store. read more

She eased off, and I was able to go through the colors like I wanted. However, when I picked them out, she took forever (like she wasn't familiar with the stock?) and turned out they didn't have any (?!?!) of the colors I'd picked out. Meh. I had the most disappointing experience ever in this store. I have spent thousands of dollars at this store over the last few years as it's convenient to my residence and I like the selection of work clothes. I'm am professional 58 year old woman, most of your employees know me at this location as I probably shop there once or twice a month and more around Christmas time. Today, I dropped $500.00 and last Sunday the same probably $600 Today I was stopped outside the store by three employees. I thought they were going to give me a gift or tell me I forgot something. Nope, I was told I went into the dressing room with two red sweaters and came out with one. I was like, are you accusing me of STEALING?? I have never in my life been accused of taking anything. I didn't know what to say but I am deeply offended at the accusation. I said I have no idea, I left the sweater in the dressing room because I didn't like it. Go check with your employee who made the accusation. I will NEVER spend another dime in that store. How insulting given the amount of time and hard earned money I have spent in that store. To be accused of shoplifting. I want a formal apology. I can tell you who those employees are, I've purchased from every one of them. I have no need or desire to take something that is not mine or not paid for! What a shame we live in this kind of environment not to appreciate your recurring customers, nothing short of accusing me of thievery. I've worked in retail and I work in customer service now, that's NOT how you retain customers. I plan to post this to as many sites on social media as possible. If you would like to make this right, I'll give you the employees names and want an apology from all three of them. Dillards has lovely merch but their service is in the toilet. I tried to return some holiday decor within their 30 day time limit with tags intact and the yellow sticker they can scan to pull up the receipt at Northpark, only to find the sticker that was given to me wouldn't work. I didn't have the receipt because I had the sticker. Even though they could have used my card to find the transaction, they would not. Told me to come back with receipt. Item was still on the floor for same price. I had some health issues that prevented me from trying again until after the 30 days but returned to Fairview with the receipt, the yellow sticker and the items-which still to this day are on the floor at the same price. I was visibly having difficulty moving around. I went to 4 registers with no worker and decided to go upstairs to customer service. They immediately told me I couldn't do a return there, I needed to find a register-not sure why they call the department "customer service". Then after hearing I tried 4 registers they decided to look at the receipt and told me they couldn't do they return because it was past the 30 days. Baloney. Then as I tried to explain the initial attempt that was within the 30 days, they peeled off the yellow return sticker and threw it away. They refused to make the return despite the explanation, the sticker, the fact that they still have the item in the store for the same price and all tags were on the items. They even had the gall to say "well this will be going on sale in a week"- as if that changes anything. So for a $96 sale they won't return, they are losing a client forever who used to spend a lot of money there. I will never shop there again on principle. Maybe this is why the store was largely empty the week before Christmas?? read more

I came in today with my mom and father; they were looking for work clothes so I just browsed in the purse and jewelry section. I've usually had good experiences here (the men's shoes and clothes department staff is awesome!) but today was different. When I was checking out Vera Bradley this woman working there wouldn't stop staring at me! Terrible customer service here! Not just one experience, but a few times! Every time i go in here, i am completely ignored by sales people, which is weird, because usually they're all over you. I literally have to seek out help at this store, it's ridiculous. "Can you please help me find this dress" like NEVER, "can i help you with something" Oh today the lady was nice enough to say "Those are plus sized dress" oh ok, well thanks for helping me find the kind i wanted! Never welcomed in, asked if need help etc. I was having a courthouse wedding a few weeks ago, needed to put a dress on hold, came back the next day, and they LOST my dress i put on hold, then retrieved it, long story short, it was an absolute pain in the ass, so i went elsewhere! Let me start by saying that of all the depament stores, dillards has always been my favorite for some reason. But I no longer use this location. They seem to have a smaller selection of merchandise to choose from compared to other locations. The clothing they do have is geared toward and "older" crowd... My grandparents would probably enjoy shopping here. The service I got was at first inviting but as I struggled to make up my mind choosing a new purse and wallet (high priced- $800 for the bag, $200 for the wallet) the woman helping me became rude and the next thing I knew security was standing behind me. I guess she thought I was trying to shoplift since I wasn't their average customer age of 65.... Anyway I noticed what was going on, was insulted, but after spending so much time in deliberation I didn't want to just walk away. So I quickly made up my mind and checked out at the counter. At which point the lady helping me suddenly became nice again and the security guard left from standing behind me. Wow. What hospitality. I haven't been there since and I now drive 20 minutes out of my way to Frisco's stonebriar location so I don't have to deal with this ridiculous store they call a Dillard's. read more

Usually, I love the convenience of the location and the selection of handbags available, however, I do not enjoy the customer service. Recently, I purchased a Coach and a Brahmin but they did not come with slipcovers. I called the sales associate that helped me and she informed me that she would tell one of her colleagues to leave dust covers for me. I came all the way after work to pick up the dust covers and one rude lady told me she would not give me slip covers for my purses. A manager said she would look for some but failed to provide. I spent hundreds of dollars for expensive purses and received horrible customer service. I rather go to the Coach and Brahmin retail stores to receive a better experience and the minimum dust covers! The Dillard's at The Shops at Willowbend has much better employees that treat you kindly and do not speak to their customers in a condescending tone. read more

DILLARD'S RETURN POLICY SUCKS! First let me start by saying that the ladies that helped me today in dresses were wonderful, kind, and helpful. They are the reasons I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. Here's what happened: I ordered a formal dress in January from Dillard's.com for my daughters wedding. It fit ok at the time but recently I've had some health issues and the dress got tight around the chest area. I kept all the paperwork and all tags were in place. I knew I wouldn't get my money back because it was longer than 90 days, not a problem as I planned on exchanging for something else. So went today, found a much better dress and started to exchange it. The first dress is still for sale online at Dillard's.com for the same price I paid. Well guess what? You can't return or exchange from an online order in the store even with a receipt IF the item isn't carried in store. So instead of having $130 towards my new dress they only allowed me $45 from my original dress which was "discontinued " in the store. Even though the dress is full price online no dice! The manager tried all different ways to try and override and give me back my money toward the new dress but the best she could do was $45. So I lost out on $85 which completely unacceptable. If I didn't need the dress very soon I would have probably thrown a fit and given my new dress business to another store, like Nordstrom where the return policy is fantastic and they stand by their products. Very irritated with Dillard's policy. I try to support Texas based companies but I can promise you that this was my last purchase at Dillard's. read more
