I really can find some steals here in between the full-priced items. I like a lot of the brands they offer. I will sometimes go here and see what they have in the purses because I can find accessories by coach. The store is very clean, and well organized. My wife and I stopped in here during our errands at Patrick Henry Mall, I was just browsing but my wife had other plans. She seen some shoes and sandals you wanted and she started purchasing. Dillard's has always been a great place for me to shop for clothes. Being a big man, I always knew the right size would be available. Most of the time, I would only buy clothes to wear at work. Just a personal preference. Let's see how things went on this particular visit. There weren't many customers shopping during the afternoon, which was on a Sunday. Just about every time, it's the same so it was just completely fine. Basically, I was shopping for pants to wear since the ones I've had are worn out. Long overdue for clothes on my end. After trying a few on in the dressing room, I ended up buying a pair for just over $100. The prices haven't really changed over the years so it was fine for me. It has been a goal of mine to get fitted for a bra. I know that seems small, but it's major and I was nervous... idk why. Maybe because this was my first time going to get a fitting alone. Stay away from their so called vintage Louis Vuitton bags. I purchased 2 within a week of each other. This was only 4 months ago. One of them is falling completely apart at the seams. This purchase was close to 2000.00 and a gift for my daughter's birthday. Once you purchase one of these, you are on your own. Not only will they not return or exchange the items, but they refer you to a company ready to take more of your money to repair the bag. I've been a Dillard's customer for 40 years, and I will NEVER GO BACK TO ANY OF THEIR STORES. They've really gone down, and even calling the corporate office is a complete waste of time. When I visit the Hampton Roads area, I generally shop at Dillards in NN. During my last trip, I needed some cosmetics and visited the store. This was a a unique experience. The Estee Lauder representative was showing all her insecurities while "supposedly" helping me. Lets just say, whatever I was looking for was not available. (I returned another day with a witness-just to make sure it was not just me. She too, experienced this lack in professionalism). When I left Hampton Roads, I wrote to Dillards - who never provided a response. Needless to say, this will be my last trip to this store. It was not just her lack of quality service, but the store having no response/regard for my experience after many, many years of shopping at this location. I can get better service at Neimans or Dillards in NC. This gave me such a bad taste that as much as I have shopped with Dillards over the years, led me to know.. it is time to move on. This is a great store! The merchandise is high-quality, very up-to-date and beautifully displayed. I visit each time I am in town and it is by far the best Dillard's that I have seen. The lingerie department is my favorite. The ladies working there are very knowledgeable, well-trained and helpful. Today I went shopping at one of my favorite store. However, customer engagement was not part of the training at this location. Today was a sad because I had several associates pass me and no acknowledge at all. I had 2 older females look in another direction. While several younger associates were upbeat and professional. I spent $180.00 in the shoe dept. The young man in this area was Outstanding!! Great customer service. Also, the petite Blonde young lady working in The free the people area was outstanding too, smiles and engaging. The senior associates need some retraining on how to respond to All customers in a positive manner. This negative behavior doesn't help the Brick and Mortar stores to stay open. Oh yes, the 2 senior associates I referred to both work in the women's Designer areas. Customer service is very Important !!!! read more

I was so upset to the customer service department that intentionally give problems and lie to the customer. I had a 60 dollar reward certificate on my hand and they could easily scan it or manually typed in the number to redeem it but laziness and lied back to me saying I have already used it. I know that I have not used it and it is so shame and throwing this big accusation in front of everyone standing behind me on the line. Then I had to call customer service to check and see if the coupon is still there and not used it. They told me that the coupon is not claim and still active under my account. After I told them that they want me to email the coupon for them and rebuy my product again. To make this fact short, they waste all my time and manually entered my coupon and it worked. I was thinking, why can't they just do that earlier from the beginning!!! Horrible!!!! Very embarrassing!!!! I will never shop there again until they fix their problems... read more

This is by far the best department store on the Peninsula for clothing. They carry upscale clothing for professional working women and I can always find something on sale, too. Unlike Macy's where I also shop, this store: 1) Maintains their inventory neatly, 2) The racks are not so stuffed that you can't easily get to things, 3) There is room in the aisles to move around the merchandise and 4) It's never crowded when I'm there. I don't like salespeople hovering around me when I shop which is another thing I like about Dillards. They are there if/when I need them and that's the way I prefer it. read more

My adult daughter and I went shopping today at Dillards for a sophisticated pant suit for a job intervew. A very important interview! We asked an associate in juniors and she directed us to Trudy in the Calvin Klein section. Trudy was fantastic! She chose the right sizes for Kelly and items that would look good on her. Excellent customer service and the best place to buy really cute full figure bras. I've shopped at Dillard's plenty of times in the past for clothes and shoes but over the weekend, I had to shop for bras at Dillard's because its almost impossible to find bras anywhere else bigger than a DD cup. I've shopped here for years and never really had a problem until this last visit. Me, my mother and my grandmother went to the store and were looking through the little costume jewelry display. We were just looking getting opinions trying to find nice pieces and we were looking around about 15 minutes maybe twenty and the woman had come over to talk to us twice in that time. It almost felt like we were being racially profiled by our own race. LOL. My mother goes to the register to purchase and the associate says for all the time we were browsing she should have more items to purchase. My mom just laughed back with her playing it off and then she literally suggests my mom go pick out more items to buy that she needs us to buy more jewelry. Obviously we did not, I'm not sure how these associates are being trained lately but that was the strangest and rudest thing I've ever heard from an associate there. just a heads up. I hope to never encounter anything like this again and I hope the people of Dillard's do read this to kind of correct any weird rules they give their workers. read more

I agree that they are very expensive, they even try to sell merchandise that is damaged at a high price. I brought their attention to a dress that had a broken zipper, several snags on it and oil like spots.. offered to buy it for at least a 20% discount but they refused to give me any more than 10% off... and on top of that they had a manager try to argue with me that I should not want to buy the dress if it is damaged. Miss Kim had no customer service skills whatsoever- the girls at the register and on the sales floor were a lot more professsional and customer service oriented than she was. read more

After my wife and I visited with the clerk for a moment she left and the clerk guided me to the sizes and colors that she thought would please my wife. I went into Dillard's the morning of June 3rd to purchase some last minute items for my fiancé. His birthday was that day and we had my daughter's softball game one hour after the time I arrived. I came in for 2 pair of shorts, a particular style of Oakley sunglasses, and some type of cologne set. I immediately went to the big and tall section and found 2 pair of shorts. As I was walking up to the lady at the checkout desk to ask about the location I would find Oakleys in, she was directing a gentleman to another location for what he was looking for, so I waited. When she was done I went up to the counter to ask about the Oakleys, she seemed kind of reluctant, which was odd. She stated, "well they should be over there in that area", while pointing towards the cologne. I noticed her staring at the shorts I had draped over my arms and the few other bags I had. I asked her, do I have to purchase these here, and she said yes. After JUST directing the older gentlemen to another location in the store without asking him to check out. Any other time, it wouldn't had bothered me as much, but I was rushing to make it to my daughter's game a city over, in very little time. I ran one to the Oakleys near the cologne area, purchased those, and left. I'll save purchasing the cologne for Father's Day and make sure I shop elsewhere next time. I felt like I was being judged because of my age or something, like she thought I was going to steal something. I am 28 years old, but look a lot younger. Either way, I was a frequent shopper, but that made me pretty uncomfortable. read more
