After watching videos of blatant racism and rudeness/escalation from the doormen, I took a break from this "classy" establishment. I tried again last night for a friend's birthday and the regret is real. Went in with a lady friend who is Korean and they had issues that she had a backpack (traveling from out of town). We had already been in there and I tried to express this. Then the guy got in my face and proceeded to ask my lady friend "do you understand eng-rish". I got indignant on her behalf so they sent several tough guy bouncers to deal with me. Big tough Men who call names and claim they were threatened. A simple google search of the establishment yields results with racist videos where door men assault potential patrons with racial epithets. DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY IN THIS PLACE - mediocre bar with jail bait underage patrons abounding. They have these blatantly racist "rules" that include no baseball caps and no wave caps/du rags. Honestly? This place is a joke. Also, the cops hang right outside to back up the tough guy doormen - so you basically risk arrest of you have a spine and talk back to these small minded cowards. read more

Looking to get away from the annoying fratty college kids in the U District that populate bars further north on the street? Dillingers is just what you are looking for. A great beer selection, awesome sandwiches (I like the Turkey), and really chill atmosphere, Dillingers is a great place to play pool, watch tv, or get a group of your friends together for a night of drinks. What's not to love about this place. It's basically the only place in town to hear good music on a regular basis. With two rooms: one featuring great dinner seating and 3 TVs over the bar quietly playing football (or hockey or golf) and the other room featuring a large bar a big clean pool table and open seating, Dillingers is a versatile hangout spot for any occasion. Also worth mentioning: the people here are interesting and can carry on a intelligent a fun conversation - and aren't afraid to talk to you! I whole-heartedly recommend Dillingers. read more

I didn't even want to give this place 1 star but I guess for this, it is mandated. When a local business makes it a point to mock the total devastation of another... it is just wrong. At Dillingers this weekend, a sign was posted on the door that read something like this: "Smokin Hot deals just like at the Brackney" Apparently, the total loss and devastation to those involved in the fire at the Brackney Inn this weekend is a joke to those at Dillingers. To make it worse, instead of apologizing to outraged community members, Dillingers acknowledges us by deleting them or blocking them on facebook. This behavior clearly shows this business has no respect or concern for their patrons or their community. Why would anyone want to support a business that just doesn't care about... well apparently... anything? read more

I have been to bars in many different states and my College was a well known party school with killer bars, however Dillingers is in a class of its own. It is beautifully built, extremely clean and has everything built in. If you want to dance you go upstairs, if you want to eat you go to the pub and if you want to hang out on a beautiful day with some friends there is the patio. You will not find a finer establishment in town. The owner keeps the bar spotless and takes pride in every inch of this bar. In a town with not much going for it, this is the place you want to go! read more

A local business that also contained apartments was destroyed in a fire recently. Within hours of the loss of that business this business took the time to make and post a sign in their establishment (posted below) making a joke about the loss of this business. A continuation of truly classless acts by this bar. Scroll down a little further and you will see other entries about their racist and discriminatory history. Avoid Dillengers. Dills is one of the premiere locations for getting shoved and punched in the back of the head by SUNYs who want to look tough. Management and some staff have a strong reputation for being unkind, to put it mildly, to some people of color. It is overly crowded on weekends, is one of the least chill bars in town, and demonstrates a lack of professionalism with respect to some other businesses including The Brackney. There are much better bars in town, including The Belmar, Galaxy, and Oasis. read more

We try to make it down at least once a month or so, sometimes after First Friday or a hockey game. We really love the draught beer selection that ranges from the usual staple beers to high end craft beers in draught, and bottle form. The food is usually great! We love the burgers, wraps and wings. Staff is always welcoming and friendly, and is by far the cleanest most efficiently run bar around. We have found that its the only bar on the strip worth visiting! Keep up the great work! read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. They are classless and disrespectful. A local business(The Brackney Inn) was completely lost in a fire, and Dillingers decided it would be a good idea to hang a sign mocking the fact that this business burned down. What a despicable thing to do in someone else's time of loss. I'd hesitate to even give this establishment one star not only are the bartenders horrendously rude and patronizing they all have this unwavering pride of their good friends (old townie degenerates) but the bouncers are notably racist and power driven there are literal videos on YouTube of them casually hurling racist remarks as they beat up minorities but if you like no teeth full sleeves and a hatred for anyone that makes over minimum wage this is your place read more

This place is awful. If you're not young and white, they don't care about you or your money. I've seen the racism first hand and it is absolutely appalling. Not to mention their flagrant disregard for others, especially in a time of tragedy, when another establishment burned down they put up a classless sign openly mocking them. If you are Caucasian and don't mind patronizing an establishment with a long history of unabashed racism, you should be fine. If you are a person of color be prepared to be hassled, degraded, and then barred entry (unless you happen to be the lucky "vetted person of color" that night). The sign you posted out front of your establishment for the entire community to see...the community that was upset over the loss of a long time RESPECTED bar (The Brackney Inn) was highly insensitive and offensive. Absolutely disgusting. Food is on barely edible and drinks are nothing special. Floors are filthy and the it is usually filled with trashy, tasteless students. The absolute worst part about this place is their "dress code" which they use as a cover for their blatantly racist door policy. Many locals despise this place. While I have not been there for many year I hear about it often. Many say they use their dress code to keep black folks out of the place. I have talked to people who were denied access. Recently when a local pub burned down they used tasteless jokes in their advertising exploiting this misfortune. What a great place, definitely the cleanest bar I have ever been in. Bathrooms are amazing!!! Draft and bottled beer selection is outstanding. The environment was outstanding, safe and comfortable. I even saw Jon "Bones" Jones (UFC fighter) in the bar!! I read some other comments about the bar being dirty and I think the person who posted that must have been in the place next door. They poked fun of a business right after they suffered a major, devastating loss. Dillingers, you need to address the way your disrespectful employees run your business. You were in hot water just 4 years ago when one of your bouncers yelled racial slurs at and denied entrance to one of your black "patrons." Okay place I guess. Food is bar food, nothing more. That said, it's pretty good bar food. Service okay, nothing great. Barmaid flirting with some loser dude while I waited 10 minutes for my check. Underage drinking going on, especially on the weekends - staff is aware but turn a blind eye. No one is carded, ever. Racism is prevalent - there is a so called dress code designed to keep certain people out. Posted a sign after another restaurant in another state burned down, mocking them and making a joke about their loss. That should say what type of people run this business. read more
