There was plenty of parking, and the outdoor seating area was enjoyable. The picnic tables have definitely seen better days, and one of our umbrellas was broken, but given the unexpected size of our group, we were just grateful to have a place where we could all sit together. The outdoor bar offered a nice selection of drinks as well. As for the food, my chicken fingers were a bit overcooked, and the house-made honey mustard was just okay. A few of the kids mentioned their Shirley Temples didn't taste quite right, and some thought the water had an unusual taste. I took the worst of the two up to the counter to have it remade and was informed that they looked like that because of the oil they were using, and if they remade it, it would still look like that, so I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Overall, the atmosphere was good,and they have a nice bar, but there was a very strong "sewage" smell in the women's bathroom and they put air fresheners in the floor drain where the smell was coming from, and the food was not great. I completely understand that emergencies happen and don't fault the restaurant for something outside of their control. We were offered the option to delay our reservation by 30-45 minutes while they waited for an update, but there was no guarantee the kitchen would reopen. I appreciate that someone called rather than having us show up and receive the news, but with a party of this size, I wish there had been more proactive communication, the GM thought she had called me but totally understood when dealing with an emergency.
