    Stop at Glass Beach!!

Our 3rd trip down the river did not disappoint. Each experience has been different. This year we had 66° weather and a solid storm all day. All 5 of us opted for a raft this year not knowing what to expect with the heavy rain. We had a blast and got to experience a little hail even!! We saw 3 bald eagles this year also which we hadn't seen before. Don't be afraid to raft in a storm!!

One of the highlights of our most recent trip to WNC. We have tubed in Cherokee and Canton, but this river was our favorite. Neither too slow or too crazy. My family was grumpy about going, but the day turned out to be beautiful, and we loved it. We opted for a guided river raft. Eden was our guide, and she was great. She pointed out wild life and shared many tips about the area. We will definitely use this company again.

I just stumbled onto this. They took me without reservation. 5-mile run with cat 1 and 2 white water was a breeze and super relaxing. It's supposed to take 2 hours, but I raced through in just over one. Depends on what you want out of it. I did the inflatable kayak for $30. Well worth the cost as an adventure. Super friendly staff across the board!

We had great rafting trip which Adam set up for us. Charlie was a great and patient guide.

Adam set up our rafting trip. Charlie was a good and patient guide. We had a blast! The photos were good too. Very enjoyable for new rafters.

This mom and pop place was awesome! We took an assisted guide trip with about her group. Our guide Ace was amazing. We did many other things on our vacation but this was our favorite by far. Great for any age, the rapids we gentle but exiting enough for this first time rafter!

    Great day on the Tuckasegee!

We had a fantastic time in the inflatable kayaks this weekend doing the self guided tour. Mary was extremely warm and friendly when she checked us in, and all of the employees were helpful and kind. It was a really nice touch to be able to purchase a photo at the end! We both agreed it was one of the best parts of our trip to the Dillsboro/Sylva area. We'd definitely go back and use Dillsboro River Company again!

Talk about a fun rafting experience!! My husband and I brought our 10 year old sons and my parents…read moreon the whitewater rafting adventure yesterday. It was mine and the kids first time. The class II and III rapids were the perfect size for us. It was slightly challenging in a few places but nothing terribly difficult. It was absolutely exhilarating! Our guide Eric was incredible! He was super knowledgeable and really seemed to know the river very well. We all felt really lucky to have him as a guide. After watching a few other color rafts/companies get stuck continuously, we knew we chose the right people for this adventure. 10/10 will definitely be back again. Things we were glad to have... glasses chords.

We had so much fun ebiking in Banff last summer that i thought it would be fun to do in Asheville…read moretoo. I booked the easy ebike ride which was a 12 mile bike ride into Tennessee. We had a 2pm start (1:30pm arrival) and were the only people registered so private ebike tour for us. TJ was our guide and he was training someone so we ended up with 2 guides, which was great. Both of them were very knowledgable about Asheville, nature (i learned what poison ivy looks like) and biking. It took me a few minutes to get my ebike bearings, but then were off. The first part of the ride was on gravel, which was a little tricky, but it was all good when we hit the road. It also started raining and we got pretty wet...i couldn't decide if the rain made the ride miserable or more fun. Maybe both! The biking itself wasn't too hard and honestly we probably could have done it on regular bikes and gotten a workout, but i do find ebiking super fun. We stopped a few times, which helped with our sore butts and learned about the area. A few hours later we said goodbye to our new friends and headed back to Asheville (about an hour away). They also offer many other activities like white water rafting so recommended if you're looking for a little adventure.

Even though we got there super early, because of the holiday, there was a HUGE line getting into Devils Fork Park with the park rangers checking in with every vehicle - the rangers were turning away everyone without a parking reservation. I called Eclectic Sun and the nice lady on the phone said to show them our kayak reservation confirmation and that she would have a parking spot saved for us. Because we were in line for 1+ hours, we didn't get in until way after our reservation time but everyone was super nice and adjusted the time for us. The guys at the life jacket rental and down by the water helping people get in and out of their kayaks were also all very nice. All kayaks they had seemed to be in great shape, we had no problem using ours. Once you're out in the water, you can just dock it at any beach area you find around the lake (even though it was a busy day at the lake, there are so many beaches, you can easily find an empty one). We will definitely come back and rent one out again!

My family and I rented the "Above the River" cabin on the Tuckasegee River for a week in August…read more The cabin was even better than the pictures show on their website. Big deck overlooking the river, with 5 fans to keep you cool and big enough for the whole family to hang out and enjoy the river and the peaceful setting. Definitely a bonus being a dead end road and feeling secluded plus it was easy to dart into Sylva (5 min.) to pick up supplies. The cabin technically has bed space for 8 people, we stretched that to 15 with air mattresses and it had enough room for our RV to park and hook up to electricity, which housed a few more peeps for the week. The Tuckasegee is beautiful, you can drive up the road, put in your tubes or kayaks and float back down to the cabin. Better done when the damn is open and the stream is higher. Fishing is good, brooks, browns and rainbows as well as some bass. We mostly fly fished in front and if I would have went upstream to the dam earlier, I would have fished that back down to the cabin in a kayak or raft. Overall, excellent stay! Nobody wanted to leave when the weak was up...weather was great and bug free!!!

When I notified the Rental company about the issues we had with the rental, they gave us a full refund even though I had suggested that a 1 day refund might be appropriate. I will definitely use the rental company again just based on their response to our issues. Not many businesses take decisive actions when customers are unhappy and they went above and beyond what I expected. They also mentioned in our discussions that they were meeting the rental owner at the cabin to make sure all issues were being corrected. Ernest Knepp Middlebury, IN
