I am a traveling nurse from Louisiana and this place is nice but not worth the money or I just picked the wrong bed! I did the Hybrid bed with the hybrid lotion and did not change a color! I had gone to the same Tanning Spa for the last 15 years, but they recently closed so I was looking for another location, in my area. I had seen Dilworth Tan, but was obviously loyal to another place. So, since closing, I have moved to Dilworth. Upon my first visitl, the employee asked if I had ever been there before, of which I responded No. She explained how their packages worked as well as showed me around the spa, bathroom, rooms, etc. as well as came in the room and showed me how the beds worked. Funny that there are so many different ones out there. I have since been 4-5 times and every time the service is great and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. read more

This place is awesome. I've only had quality spray tans that last and when it's fading you're not peeling like a lizard. Their products must be natural-organic. The place is clean. The receptionist explains the types of sprays you can get. They offer packages to save money. read more

You walk in and you're greeted so nicely right off the bat. Whoever is at the front desk is always in a good mood (whether they're faking it or not...we all do sometimes) and they're super helpful. There's one thing that always ruins a good vacation, a terrible sun burn. In order to avoid that cruel fate my significant other and I decided to take things indoors before we ventured to the outdoors on our next getaway. We certainly wanted to avoid looking like snookie but we wanted a little base to avoid the burn of the tropical sun. We went with the $20 package that allows you to tan 7 consecutive days without any added membership fees. You can upgrade for $10 more to the nicer beds but we found this to be unnecessary since the bed did a fine job. NC state law says you can only tan once in 24hrs meaning that if you tan at noon one day you must tan later than noon the next. If you're limited on time this can get a bit tricky as they take it literally and I had only a small window of time in which to get my tan on. They did offer me a one time courtesy when I went in at 7pm and the next day at 1pm. Another NC law mandates eye-wear which they have available in two forms - eye winkies (sticker type things) for $1 or glasses for $4-5. Their lotion prices are a bit steep - $7 for a sample size, and they are finicky about which lotions they let in (Ocean Potion, Hawaiian Tropic, No-AD and many other drug-store brands are banned) but this is to protect their equipment (which works very well and is tested daily) . We decided to forgo the lotion and both of us were able to moisturize after and our tans lasted fine. The beds were very clean and the service was great., they also have towels and cleaner there for your peace of mind. I won't say this place is spa-like but it did the job and I felt like the property is well maintained. I normally don't tan and hesitate to give a review because of that. But I had developed a terrible tan line from running during the summer and wanted some help evening it out. I tried the place mainly because it was the closest tanning salon from me but it worked out well. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices were reasonable; the place was also always very clean. When I moved across the city, I knew I would have to find a new tanning place and my coworkers recommended Dilworth Tan. Usually when you go to a tanning salon for the first time, you can expect to get the big sales pitch, but Dilworth Tan was a whole new experience for me. The girl who was working asked questions about me and my wants, then helped me pick a package that was right for me. The salon is decorated really classy and you can tell that everyone who works here really cares. If you have to wait for a bed, the lobby has comfy chairs and free wifi, but I have only had to wait around 15 minutes a few times. I've been going here for about 3 months now and I have never gotten the pushy sales pitch for lotions and upgrades like I was used to at my old place. I will definitely remain a loyal customer of Dilworth Tan. read more

Went to purchase a tanning package and while signing up, the person working asked about the lotion I was going to use. I told her I haven't purchased any yet, but planned to get some from the internet. She quickly changed her happy/welcoming attitude to a rude/inconsiderate attitude. She said they would have to approve the lotion before I was able to use it because of the potential of messing up their bed. I understand tanning beds are expensive and they want to take care of their equipment, but the way she changed and spoke to me was not necessary. She basically said, "I would rather you go somewhere else to tan if you are set on buying a lotion online." So, if you aren't prepared to buy your products from this place, I do NOT suggest going here. Then again, I wouldn't go here just because of the employee's attitude. Decided on going to Club Tan on South Blvd and I highly suggest this place. Very friendly staff and good beds. read more

I hadn't been to a tanning bed in 7 years but figured I needed a base tan before heading out on a tropical vacation. No high pressure sales (which I was expecting from prior experiences), clean beds, nice staff, excellent pricing and centrally located. The only negative I can think of is the pricing of the tanning lotions but I think this likely applies to any tanning bed ($40 for a bottle for a one-week tanning experience). read more

I just moved the area and came across this one on yelp. I prefer a tanning bed as opposed to spray tan, which many salons are strictly spray only. I was taken back when I entered because the receptionist asked me what my tanning needs were and since I tan very easily, she recommended a great bed which was only a level 2. Normally these girls try to upsell beds just to make commission. I filled out a questionnaire about myself to determine what type of skin I had also. The bed was spacious and clean. I really liked the friendly and warm staff! I will return! read more

If you are planning on using a level one bed membership, do NOT go here. There is only one bed for level one, so that it gets backed up on purpose. Why? Because the front desk girl is trained to immediately say "you can always upgrade to a higher level", which requires paying more for a more expensive membership. This happened every time my boyfriend (who used level 1) and I went in, and she said it to every single person who walked in after us. Her first response isn't about waiting, or I'm sorry it's backed up, it's immediately about paying to upgrade. We were so annoyed by this that we cancelled our membership after a month. read more

If you have been to other tanning salons you will recognize this is much nicer place then most. Clean, friendly, quiet. Top of the line beds and supplies. Never seems to be a long wait. Tons of parking and nice waiting area. read more

Fantastic little salon! I have been going to Dilworthtan for years. This may be the cutest tanning salon ever made. The staff is always friendly and never pushy. No memberships! I am so tired of going to tanning places and having some pushy person behind the counter trying to talk me into signing up for a membership or a big tanning package. It was so nice to go into Dilworth Tan and just buy what I needed without having to pay fees or sign up for anything. The staff here is really nice and helpful and I get really awesome color from the beds. Definitely worth going here and getting a relaxing tan in a friendly atmosphere. read more
