A scam! This company claims to help you get your money back after a car wreck but I can't stress this enough, ITS A SCAM. As soon as you pay them for the appraisal, they don't even want to contact you. I was told at the beginning I would be dealing with the other parties insurance and have my money in 3-6 weeks. Now I'm looking at filing lawsuits and getting a attorney, something I never wanted to do in the first place. I'm going to eat this -$500 so nobody else has to but please do not give these thieves your money. BE SMART! read more

I found Diminished Value of Texas online after I got into an accident on Labor Day weekend in my brand new Jeep. Kirk was responsive, friendly, and could not have been easier to work with. I was involved in an accident in March 2016, where the other party was at fault. Since my car was less than 2 years old, had under 30k miles, and no previous damage, I knew my vehicle had lost significant resale value as a result of the extensive repairs required following the wreck. I tried to work with State Farm but their offer was low-ball. State Farm asked for better support than the comps I could pull up on the internet, so after some internet research and a good 15 minute conversation with Kirk Kyler over the telephone, I hired Diminished Value of Texas. Kirk arrived on time and provided a report I showed to State Farm. State Farm still did not offer a legitimate amount for my loss (I think many other insurance companies would have offered a fair settlement), so I filed suit in small claims court. At no additional fee, Kirk appeared in court and offered credible, expert testimony to defend his work. Kirk's testimony is the reason we prevailed and I was awarded more than double what State Farm offered. If the situation ever presents itself again, I will not waste anytime in contacting Kirk Kyler of Diminished Value of Texas. read more

I hired Kirk and Diminished Value of Texas about 2 years ago to do an estimate on my 2014 S550 after another driver pulled out in front of me. It was a car with low miles on it and the other driver who was at fault had GEICO. GEICO was horrible to deal with throughout the process. GEICO originally offered me $500 for diminished value on the wreck and never moved much above that even after Kirk gave them a thorough and detailed report. However, I did sue the driver and GEICO-the jury gave us the exact amount that Kirk had determined was the diminished value which was more than 20x over their original offer. In addition to just doing great work, Kirk was professional and helpful throughout the entire process and spent a large part of his day testifying and waiting without charging me $.01 more than the original report. A true gentleman and class act. read more

They did not take over 150,000 of renovations inside of the house into account. All they did was to add around 30,000 based upon one other house. I spend around 100,000 renovating three bathrooms and over 50,000 renovating a kitchen, excluding the built in appliances and they seemed to have ignored all of that. They did not use pictures inside of our house and compared them to other houses. Their footage was off and room count. I told them not to use one house because I knew the owners and their house had bad mold damage and it sold for a low price, but they did anyway. I give this company a F. We also put in a very large cedar fence to cover our back yard. The cost was around 45,000 they said they would add value but they they blew it off. We had an expensive patio put in. They did not add any value for the patio, The roof is new they added no value, even though they said they would. This company is so bad they appraised our house on the low side of Zillow. Zillow does not know all of the renovations done to the house. Further they refused to take into consideration of the stone fireplace and stone work that we spent thousands of dollars upgrading.
