I don't even know where to start about how awesome these guys are. I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend, but I had no idea where to start. I did my research on all the c's and different diamond retailers. I was planning to buy online but I had my reservations about making such a large purchase without ever seeing the diamond. I decided to seek out a jeweler and came across Kube's on yelp. I have them a call to feel them out and talked to Chris. He immediately impressed me with not only his knowledge but his honesty about diamonds and everything that comes along with buying an engagement ring. I told him the specifics and price range of what I wanted and he got three diamonds that were all around my specifications. When I went in to look at them, he talked to me about all the pros and cons of each and what to specifically look for. He had one there that I knew was it. Then after choosing the diamond he helped me with the setting. Again, I wanted something very specific that would have to be custom made. He had a guy draw up the plans based on what I described to him. And again, he did an amazing job. The final product ended up being so beautiful and perfect that it literally brought tears to my eyes. Chris couldn't have been better. He really delivered when I needed help the most. He walked me through every step of the process and put into reality the vision of the ring I had that would symbolize everything my now fiancé means to me. Many of the teachers I used to work with shop exclusively for jewelry at Kube's. When some of the younger teachers were getting engaged, they were advised to go to Kube's. Recently when my best friend and fellow teacher needed her ring sized up after a pregnancy......you guessed it, Kube's topped the list. But I had never been to Kube's and did not know what to expect. Kube's is classy without pretention. I felt the staff was genuinely friendly and non-pushy. They made it a point to tell us they do not work on commission but get a flat salary so their only job is to make sure we, the customers, are happy and to take our time and ask whatever questions we wanted. All the employees are Kube family members and they've been in business for 75 years. And happy we were ! Want a Victorian looking diamond and enamel piece? they have a case of those. Want a thick plain wedding band? They have a case of those too. Fancy cross pendants? another case of those. Estate jewelry? yes. Custom rings or other fine jewelry? check. Sadly, we found out that my best girl pal's wedding ring had been injured. Two of the chanel set diamonds were chipped and the gold was stolen out for pot metal (don't go to Cox's jewelry in Pantego/Arlington) My bff called her husband to vent and then proceeded to look at new settings since her center diamond was still just fine. The gemologist/jeweler said he would not touch her ring because he wouldn't want his name associated with it and there was no good way to fix it. He offered to buy the side set diamonds and what was left of the gold and take that amount off the cost of a new diamond engagement ring setting. We were given a velvet tray and she set off looking at lots of cases of diamond engagement ring settings. They even gave her a cubic zirconia the same size as her diamond so she could plop it in and out of settings to see exactly how it would look. She was allowed to put ones that caught her eye in the tray and......get this.. they can take different aspects from different rings and put them together to make a custom ring. It is the same cost to order a custom ring as it is to order a specific size. They'll even have a wax casting of the ring sent to the store so you can look at it under magnification and make any changes before the final ring is cast! How cool is that? Also at Kube's they keep a record of your purchases. Lose your jewelry in a house fire? You can go into Kube's, get a copy of the record and take it into the insurance company. Want to sell your ring back for an upgrade? You can do that too. In addition, Kube's offers free prong tightening and jewelry cleaning for life. Much to my surprise I found my dream wedding band and learned they could build the exact engagement ring I want which is not a diamond but birthstones. When I texted my boyfriend this information, he said get pictures. Katie the friendly Kube's employee said no, not with your camera phone, I will take good pictures and email them to you. I had the pictures the next day. So now, I unexpectedly have a file at Kube's and my boyfriend knows to go see Katie and what exact ring I want but he can still surprise me because I will have no idea when he will go to visit them. I went to this establishment today on my lunch break after it had came highly recommended by several people. I am recovering from being under the weather and I am working from home today, so I was not dressed as polished as I typically am. After being ignored by a couple of employees I made my way to the back of the store. A woman asked what she could assist me with. I pulled out a very sentimental ring that has been in my family for many generations. I was sure to let her know that I knew it wasn't worth much monetary value but it is very special to me. It is unfortunately too small so that is why I took it in. She took it from me, measured my finger quickly and took it to the back. She came back about 5 seconds later to tell me that "it just wouldn't make the trip to get sized" and continued talking poorly about the ring, the stone ect. She then said "it's not worth investing the money or the work it needs done" and that I should just retire it to a "playroom ring". I was very offended and taken aback by all of the negative comments and apparently it was written all over my face. She then said unapologetically "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, it just isn't worth investing what needs to be done." I shared with her that I wanted to wear it on my wedding day since it was so special to me. (Hoping this would give her a chance to save the situation) she told me to wear it on my pinky or just hang onto it. At this point I was offended, upset and ready to leave this place I had been spoken poorly to in. I quickly grabbed my beloved ring gathered my belongings and left as fast as I could. She stared at me with a blank face as the other employees looked down their nose at me. If you are planning on using this place, I truly hope you have a better experience than I did and I strongly recommend wearing your Sundays best to be spoken to with respect. read more

I've driven by Kubes almost daily since we moved near TCU in late 90's. I had no idea they were such a neat, family owned and operated jewelry business. So I went by to have a watch band repaired and to get a new battery on another watch. Neither are cheap but they are also not expensive jewelry shop brands. Even though these were not Rolex watches, they made me feel like a valued customer and fixed both while I waited. I would not have minded dropping off for a few days but I only had to wait 30min behind a packed shop of customers. Everybody who works there is friendly and low pressure. They have a nice selection for men including estate pre-owned watches. $10 for professional battery replacement and $20 for clasp repair which was complicated and they apologized for delay and cost. I was thrilled and will be back for Any/all my jewelry/watch needs. read more

I went in there today to look at wedding bands. The sales clerk was extremely helpful and patient as I tried on several bands trying to find the perfect one to compliment my engagement ring. They have several beautiful rings and a good selection of styles. At the conclusion of my looking, she offered to clean my engagement ring and that gave me the opportunity to look at everything else in the store. They really do have some beautiful pieces. There was a man in there shopping for an engagement ring and I was able to overhear the conversation between he and the sales clerk assisting him. She was educating him about diamonds and providing some helpful guidance. When my clerk came back with my cleaned ring, it was sparkling more than the day I got it and looked amazing. There is an old saying that you get what you pay for. That saying couldn't be more applicable than to the purchase of jewelry, and with Kubes it has been my experience that the purchases I've made here have been worth every penny. I have made five purchases at Kubes over the last five years. I initially went into Kubes on a whim with a design idea in mind, not knowing any of the store's history. I was fresh out of college, with a limited budget and no idea what I was doing. In hindsight, I was probably a textbook example of the customer a jewelry store wouldn't want - someone who was going to take up a significant amount of their time with relatively little profit to show for it. However, I was treated like an 'A-Lister' from day one. Chris spent many hours with me helping design my then fiance's engagement ring and sourcing the emerald cut center diamond, as well as the secondary diamonds for the pavé and baguettes. The ring was custom made by Kubes' preferred vendor, and we ended up making a few alterations from the original wax mold. The result was worth the effort, my wife (she said yes) still can't believe I designed it (thanks Chris). She was so pleased with the ring's quality we purchased her and my wedding bands from here, and a few years later a pair of diamond earrings, and recently, a birthstone ring to celebrate the birth of our first child. Her wedding band (purchased in 2009) came with the one year manufacturer's warranty and Kube's three year "good-faith" warranty. My wife took in her rings for a cleaning late last year, and they said the wedding band's stones were coming loose (none had fallen out yet) and that the band wasn't holding up properly given the age. They insisted on sending the ring back to the vendor and replacing the it with a brand new one (if it was okay with my wife, for sentimental reasons), free of charge. Keep in mind this was well after the one and three year warranties were up. Prior to this, we were already customers for life, but this is a level of service that compelled me to write this review.The family at Kubes went to extraordinary lengths to cultivate a relationship with an ordinary customer, something that is exceedingly rare these days. read more
