Love the people, food is great so is the service but to be honest they're prices are high....

Well, let's start with how huge the menu is for this restaurant, wow! My co-workers and I were recommended to try Dimitri's last month, bc we were having a get together after work to exchange gifts. We were told there was a private seating area that we could book for a party of 15. So that's how we started. Unfortunately when I arrived to the restaurant, we could not sit in the private room, although it was booked, as I believe the room was booked prior from someone we were told always book the room in advance. That did leave a little bit of a nasty taste for me, bc as the party of 15 sat there for a couple of hours, I didn't see anyone go back to the private area. Anyway, we still worked everything out in the main dining area. The staff were really great in assisting our party! Everyone in the party stated that they enjoyed their food, people ordered everything from salads, nachos, pork chop dinner, soup, and shrimp dinner. I split the trio appetizer with two people, which it was enough food to split with several people. The portions of food was massive! I enjoyed the food! And the half off appetizers! For the amount of food I received, plus two alcoholic drinks, I believe the bill was only $16.00. Our waiter was so awesome! I will revise this review once I get his name (as I'm going back to the restaurant in a couple of weeks for a holiday party with my coworkers again). But the waiter was great! And did such a great job with our party! I look forward to returning and trying out other menu items, as there is such a large variety to choose from. read more

Continuous poor service the two times I've been here. Poor hospitality, the hostess threw our menus on the table and didn't say a word. Our waiter walked up and said nothing, just stared at us with his notepad open. What happened to actual hospitality?? Food quality was decent but I received hard, crusty rice with my grape leaves. Stopped In for breakfast after my granddaughter's soccer games and boy glad I did. Our waitress was great and very attentive, the food was outstanding and they give huge portions. It's a Greek restaurant and you can tell as all the food is fresh and tasty. It has a small bar area too if you want a mimosa or Bloody Mary which is cool. A pleasant surprise on a long road trip 23 mile n Gratiot. Fabulous mega Meat Greek Kebob's Chicken and Ribeye Steak with Patty of Beefteki mixed Pork n Beef delicious . Started with a bowl of Chicken Noodles Soup and basket of Hot Puffy Rolls. Really hard to find the Authentic Greek Summer Salad Horiataki A traditional Greek salad of cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini and olives and green peppers. Topped with feta cheese, oregano and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. Spot on Wonderful Wowed a must try great for sharing. Fast friendly service our waitress a keeper. I'm not sure why it has taken me this long to review Dimitri's, but here we go! My family has been coming here quite a bit over the last few years. Whenever we need something quick we either choose to dine in or get a carry out here. The menu is filled with just about everything you can think of. Some may say that's a bad thing, but it's always good to have options, right? Portions are generous no matter what you get! My go-to is either the Junior Greek Salad and Spinach Pie combo or the Chicken Tender Pita with fries. The salad is huge! They may say it's a "junior" but let's just say I can never finish it. And that's saying something because I *love* Greek salads. The lettuce has always been fresh and the dressing and feta cheese is plenty. Tastes great as a carry out or next day for lunch! The spinach pie, however, is a gem. Flaky and buttery with just enough spinach flavor that makes your mouth water just thinking about it. Did I mention that it's humongous? You can definitely make it into two meals and for the price ($10) that's quite a steal. You can never go wrong with a chicken tender pita no matter where you go. Dimitri's is no different! I always get mine with a side of ranch. Service is always great and I've never had a problem. There are many chain restaurants in the Chesterfield area, so I love coming here for a change of pace. It has been over a year since my family has had dinner at Dimitri's. At one point this was one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Now I remember why we haven't been back in over a year, I was hoping for a change in food quality but that didn't happen. We had four in our party, for dinner we ordered chicken tenders with mashed potatoes, french onion soup, chicken quesadilla, sagnaki and Reuben sandwich with chips. The one thing I have always enjoyed about this restaurant is that they always gave these wonderful garlic dinner rolls before dinner was served and they still do but the rolls were way under cooked. Almost doughy in the middle. The chicken tender dinner with mashed potatoes - the mashed potatoes were nasty, no taste and just plan nasty. I'm not sure how mashed potatoes can be screwed up. The Reuben sandwich with chips was less than average and the chips weren't chips they made in the fryer but bag of chips. I wasn't impressed and with the amount of new restaurants that are at 23 Mile and Gratiot, I won't be going back. read more

The food was very expensive and yet not good at all. The sauce looked like it started to be cooked three days ago and they were still reheating it. It was a tomato meat sauce but it was awful and strong because I've been sitting so long and being reheated. For the price I think it was $16 for my meal it was appalling. Excellent dining experience!! Service was excellent and the food was also amazing!! I'm from the west side so I was looking for something good just moved to the east side I was supposedly surprised to find this place everybody recommended it for breakfast but when I noticed they had the Greek food I had to try it! The Opa!! was excellent, a nice thick piece, served with warm grilled pita bread and the Server even brought the appetizer plates!!! Lemon rice soup was very tasty had a great consistency. The Housemade tzatziki complemented the fresh grilled Gyro sandwich! Couldn't be happier with a great meal. Since the food was so good I also got a carry-out the grape leaves and more lemon rice soup for later!! The meat stuffed great leaves for fantastic just like I made them myself top with a great lemon sauce can't wait to go back to this place!! Family run Restaurant with fresh very good quality comfort food. We started with the flaming cheese (saganaki) which was delicious followed by a Greek salad. The Greek salad had a generous amount of olives, pepperocini peppers, onion and feta. The dressing was top notch and tasted better than any other dressing I had before. We both ordered fish and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly, not all batter and snow white in color. Homemade tarter sauce with capers in it was delicious too. We had no room for desert. Yikes! Clean, open, updated with a nice looking bar, dining room and bathroom. My positive experience stops there! I had the gyro combo. Choice of classic gyro meat or chicken breast. Usually chicken at a Greek restaurant is awesome. Negative. It was a breast that was pumped with saline solution. Cooked to the tenderness of Arizona summer heat. The pita? Same. I showed the waitress the clunking noise it made when tapped with my knife. French fries were good. The combo came with a larger than usual side salad and a bread basket. Sorta. I asked about the whereabouts might be the bread basket. "Let me see if they're out yet".....2 min later, "sorry, no bread is out"....... so was I.... rather sorry I couldn't fill up with a $16 meal. So breadless, no interest in my dry chicken I decide to eat the tomato and onion with the tatziki sauce. Oh, but we have a lil slice of spinach pie with the combo! Yea!!!! Not so yea! Taste ok, bottom of the pie was, you guessed it- hard! Nothing about this meal made me hard, so with that, not gonna make the same mistake again! Oh yeah, black arm hair on the plate under my fries. To be fair, Jen had a chicken kabob. Tender. Her pita? Soft. Chase had chicken strips- also good. There is a $10 BOGO entree in the entertainment book. Not trying to be rude but had the Sunriser with bacon hashbrowns and toast and the HASHBROWNS were skimped on portion control, My fork wouldn't even hold them, they were burnt and skimpy as ever..Never had hashbrowns like that in my 58 years ..Dissapointed,, Very dissapointed..Told the Manager and she returned more Skimpy hashbrowns. I'm not much for diners or "family restaurants," because they always seem to be a Coney Island/Ram's Horn with a small focus on whatever ethnicity the owner is. It's typical fair. Burgers, burritos, meat loaf, friend chicken, chicken soup, etc. In other words, a boring mixture of shit your mom used to make growing up. Well, Dimitri's, I am happy to say, does NOT fall into that category. Do they server burgers, fries, coney dogs, and the like? Yes, you bet your sweet ass they do. But not only is they quality of those food items far superior than his competition, but they also offer a great variety of Greek cuisine as well. Pastistio, Moussaka, Gyros, and more! And they all taste great. Not good. Not okay. Great. That, my fellow Yelpers, is a rarity in an establishment such as this. The owner doesn't stop at great food. They've recently installed a full bar. I'm not a drinker myself, but on occasion I'll have a glass of red wine with my meal, and it's nice to know I can do so here. And if you drink, or at least someone in your group of visitors do, then have yourself a Bloody Mary with your breakfast. They can do that now! You want to have a graduation, wedding rehearsal, or some other kind of party? Well, look no further than Dimitri's, because they have a party room in the back of the joint. I don't know the exact number, but I'd bet money it holds at least 75 people. Get yourself a limited menu, the party room, a few drinks and call it a day my dude! And if you're one of those people who have to be around an attractive staff, the hostesses were cute, the buss boys were handsome, and all are very friendly. I have mainly been here for breakfast but finally came for dinner and liked it. Service - a bit slow to get waters but things moved well from there. Clam Chowder soup - good flavor but too many potatoes. We all really liked our food and it was served hot. The table had the Saganaki appetizer, Boneless Wings, Chicken Tender and Fries, Gyro Wrap, and Chicken Tender Wrap. When I first came to Dimitries opa restaurant the atmosphere was really comforting , I felt yes like I was at grandmas place , but I will say this theirs some minor improvements I would wish that would be made, The spaghetti I love the noodle and the sauce could use some work but overall it's like average but yet good spaghetti. The Greek food I will say is ok I wish it was better idk what need to be done but improvement is needed. The service I will say is great. Came here because we had a coupon from the entertainment book. First impressions, clean and friendly staff. We were seated right away. Very large menu. I opted for the chicken kabob dinner. Included soup or salad. I got the chicken lemon rice soup-amazing. Highly recommended. Plate came with one skewer of chicken, potatoes and rice/peas covered in red sauce. It looked amazing! The chicken was tender and very tasty. I loved the peas and rice. The potatoes would have been awesome if they weren't overloaded with salt. I mean really really salty. I couldn't eat them and I love salt. I put that stuff on everything. I would return to try other dishes. George on the other hand, will not. He ordered some chicken gyro thingy. The chicken was over cooked, his pita bread thing was rock hard and the spinach pie was hard as well. I'm sorry he had a bad experience. They did end up giving us a little credit for his stale food, which is always appreciated. I hear they are great for breakfast, so maybe we'll be back for that. read more

Not the best experience. Our waitress slammed our plates down when serving us and the food was flavorless. I got a Swiss mushroom burger. It appeared fresh made but the flavor was missing? One person in our party had chicken strips and they were clearly frozen. Kind of pricy for diner food about $7.5o for burger. Only one refill on soda - really at 1.99 you can do better! I was here just a couple weeks ago after a hiatus of several years. The remodel has this place looking more welcoming, for sure. How's the food? First of all, the menu is WAY. TOO. BIG. It's a novel, and easily the longest menu I have ever seen. Any "real" chef would say the same thing. With that said, I went basic. I chose to get a coney dog with chili cheese fries and lemon rice soup. The hot dog itself tasted straight out of the super market. Boiled. No snap on the dog at all. The chili wasn't bad, but seemed to be out of a can. The cheese sauce was likely from a can as well, but it had a surprisingly decent flavor. The lemon rice soup was nearly perfect, though it's pretty difficult to mess up lemon rice soup, in my opinion. If you like thinner lemon rice, this is the choice for you. Alright, the decor is tolerable. The food is inexpensive. That's all fine and good. It's just that the food isn't that great, and the portions are HUGE. I suppose that's fine for the average American, but I felt bad when I had to have them toss out about half of my fries because they put so friggen many on my plate. Don't bother coming here if you're on a diet. 3/5. I wouldn't be opposed to come here, but it's certainly not first on my list. read more

I LOVE Dimitris. Been going here for years with the family, friends, or just myself. It has a comfortable atmosphere and their burgers are to die for! Every dish I've ever gotten here over the years has tasted great. Try the ribs! You won't regret it. Wait staff has been nothing but nice (which you don't see often toward people my age) and they visit the table often to check on you. I made the waitress well aware that the greeting, and the bus boys didn't help her. She was a wonderful waitress. But, walking into your restaurant, the first people who set the mood, the greeter. ( she seemed annoyed, and than had to pretty much have me & my company wait near our table, and the boss boy seem unsure of how to clear the table,). Grading while waiting for a Bacon cheese burger, already at 15 minutes and the place is not even a quarter full. Waiter is not at his best and he doesn't want to be here. Got to be the worst French fires ever. And when they put some bulk ketchup in a Heinz reused container you have a hard time eating at all. Awesome authentic Greek food with many other types of food including seafood and Italian food as well as American comfort foods. Please have super large comfortable booths for a big guy like me to sit in comfort. The place was so nice and cool on such a hot summer day. Large menu to choose from. Service was excellent. Fast order, quick delivery and always refilling drinks. We got exactly what we ordered and it was spot on perfect. Prices are worth the quality of the food and even ordered carryout for my wife who was working. She loved the Athenian Greek Pita. I always love the veal cutlet with mash potatoes and corn covered in gravy. One of my favorite places for comfort food. A++ read more
