Dimple, Bombay Talk and Kasyath. The same management and food is the same with few variations. This place has more selection of sandwiches and also some chineese food ( terrible). If you stick to the basic food like Chaat and sandwiches you will not miss as thats their bread and butter, Don't have chineese here its a guey mess. read more

Vegetarian Indian street food brought to the USA! We had the samosa chaat that was excellent and the gobi manchurian which was flavorful. A few words of warning: the spice level is not for the faint-hearted or those not familiar with Indo-Pak foods. They use hot authentic green and red chillis in the food! Cool it down with some mango lassi or cold water. You have been warned. You also won't find the standard Indian or Pakistani fare like biryani, qorma, or kababs (well because it is all veggie and fast-foodish). It is Bombay street food. As far as South Asian street food goes, it is pretty authentic: firey hot and spicy. Definitely a fast-food joint ambiance (sort of like a desi version of McDonalds seating) and good for a quick bite when you are shopping in this Little India district of NJ. Not meant for formal gatherings by any means especially given the "diner" type of service. Expect to make your own doggy bags if you want to take anything home using their styrofoam bins! Parking is also verry difficult, but that goes for the entire area, especially on weekends. Despite all that, I still enjoyed the food. Would give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. read more

Hands down - one of the best places to have Indo-Chinese (veg). Wish they had non-veg options as well. The tokri chat and schezwan rice with dry Manchurian are my favorites. The sev puri and golden corn with water chestnut was also good. Pani puri was mediocre. Very fast service. I would deduct 1 star for the huge wait line and only veggies option. Add 20-25 minutes wait time at any evening (weekends are even crazier). read more

Have been to Dimples chaat around 5-6 rimes in the past year. Their menu is authentic Bombay street food!! Best items on the menu are Khasta Kachori and Chole Bhature. The waiters can me rude and nasty sometimes but are tolerable most of the times. read more

I have been doing a sunday afternoon chhole bhature scene here for over a year, and this has become borderline ritualistic.. While the food might not be fine dine standards, which this place is not meant to be, it serves its purpose and that too very well as a desi snacks joint.. The food makes us simply "happy" and therefore retains a niche place for me and my friends.. I don't know where to begin! So I've been to Dimple's quite a few times and have loved the food here. I had gone this past weekend with family to Oak Tree and they always head toward Dimple's Bombay Talk. So the place is always incredibly crowded but even on a Saturday night we got seated in a about 5 minutes. I would recommend the dahi puri and chattpatti chaat. We almost always get chole bhature and I have to say they are delicious. For the very first time I tried the aloo tikki kathi roll which was a nice change. The potatoes were a bit on the spicy side for me but I fixed that issue by ordering a mango lassi! Will definitely be back here again. read more

We ordered the masala dosa- too crispy like a nacho and the sambar and coconut chutney was not fresh. The dosa express down the street would be much better for dosa. The samosa chat tasted like it was a bit on the old side. The poori was good and my son seemed to like it... But that has to be made fresh so it was fine. I am not too impressed by this place. The only thing that was good was the fallooda. I just like my Indian food fresh and tasty- not old and sloppy tasting like it has been sitting around. read more

The food is good. However, it is SUPER SPICY!! I've ordered two things from here so far. The Bhel Puri, which is good but Mouth-on-fire-eyes-watering spicy, and the samosas which are also super spicy. Exceptionally dirty, AC doesnt work. Owner sits at the cash register and doesnt even look or seats the customers. Wouldnt have come here if there wasnt a long waiting line at the restaurant I wanted to eat. Never mind, lot of crowd will still come here. Food is okay (not great, nothing out of the ordinary). This place has a good choice of chaats. Their samosa chat was fantastic. The Tokri chaat was good as well. We ordered for an extra spicy onion rava dosa and it came out just perfect. The only thing i would never eat here is the panipuri - bland and had a funny taste. Overall a good place esp for chaats! read more

Visited for the first time at lunch on a Saturday. There was a 15 minute wait and the place was buzzing, which we took to be a good sign. We ordered a Dahi puri Chaat, which was the best we've had in the United States. We ordered chole bhature: the bhature were properly fluffed and were some of the softest we've ever had. BUT the chole was too mild and too creamy. We ordered a kids butter dosa that was dry and chewy, and other patrons' dosas also looked wildly unappetizing. Ordered a grilled veg and cheese sandwich which was completely underwhelming. The cheese wasn't even melted, and the sandwich was not hot. Mango lassi was run of the mill, and a bit on the sweeter side, even for lassi. Overall, Chaat appears to be a winner, but the rest of the items were only ok! read more

I have been there a couple of times and this place is so crowdy all the time. The best part about going here is the malai falooda kulfi & the paan that they have on the counter. Diarrhea! Five bowel movements in one night enough to keep me away forever. I ordered the kachori chat. The yogurt sauce on the top of the kachori had an after taste with the first bite. Then it got better. I finished it. Then, I ordered hot tea. The tea was not tasty and cool. It also had the same after taste as the first bite of kachori chat. Came here with friends that have been going here for a while. The chat we had was great and the variety is wonderful, but what I couldn't get over was that EVERYTHING was in styrofoam or plastic. Even the utensils you eat with are plastic. It's pretty disgusting. We sat IN the restaurant. Among the many dishes we ordered was a curry--HOT curry served in a plastic take out container. I asked for a serving spoon and was given 2 small plastic spoons. I would go again for the cold food like the chat, but was shocked that a restaurant would put their food in plastic containers and have patrons eat out of plasticware. The restaurant should seriously stop serving hot dishes in plasticware/styrofoam. It RUINS the food. read more

The disproportionately large crowd outside for the absolutely mediocre stuff that this place serves has to be one of the most shocking paradoxes of this areas culinary scene. Any self respecting Desi who claims to know his/her Indian food can tell you that the food here is an embarrassment to Indians, particularly to Mumbaikars who take pride in their city's offerings. Almost everything about this place from the chat to the Chinese food to the lassi is third rate cheap crap. I can overlook the relative lack of hygiene if the food is so divinely tasting but this place..is I don't know what to say, I wish I could give it negative stars. Desis in this neighborhood must be totally starved of Indian food to the point where they don't care what's given to them in the name of Indian food. So sad to see great joint which served great food for last 20 years serving sub par food. My low rating is directly driven by poor experience with their dishonesty and charge for an extra item in the bill. Went there today for a late afternoon snack around 6 pm. There were other customers but the place wasn't super busy and understandably so considering the time. Both of us ordered a sandwich each. The wait time was reasonable. The food was Ok in taste. The Cutlet sandwich was slightly better in taste than stuffed sandwich. We normally go to nearby Mithaas in Edison and that one is better on all accounts - Food taste, Portion, ambience and overall upbeat atmosphere. My biggest problem here though was related to the charge for an extra item in my bill. They weren't super busy and our order was only for two items but they charged for an extra item and I noticed that. When asked, the person (likely the owner or related to owner) at the counter said, he sent the bill to us for us to "check and confirm if it was correct". Are you kidding me? Who does that? The waiter left the bill on our table for us to pay. Had that overcharge not been so obvious to us, it would have been paid without question. Never like to be taken advantage of when we go there to have a good time. read more

This place serves horribly bad Chaat items.We ordered Alu Tikki Chaat , Dahi puri, Bombay Daabeli and each one of them were not even remotely closed to the original dish back in India. So If you are looking for Indian authentic chaat item, look elsewhere. You will be wasting money here. And ya don't do their Faluda ice cream as well , they don't have a clue what is Faluda icecream. read more

I am a regular customer of Bombay Talk and love eating their during my visit to Iselin from northern NJ. But on Father'sday i had really really bad experience. I went with my friends and 16 month old daughter. My daughter eat food their and spitt up little bit. Mosty on her clothes and little on the floor. I asked the service boy to provide big roll of napkins to put on floor but to my surprise owner JHANVI MEHTA walked to me asked to clean the floor even we were not finished eating. She told us that their team won't clean this and it's not their policy. I have never experience or seen such attitute from an owner and such arguments from famous resturant. Really hopeless policy which is not written anywhere but in a resutarant where they charge heavy service charge even if you are a two people. Writing this review so customers who are going with their lovely little kids be prepared for this policy and carry stuffs to clean teh floor. read more
