Bombay talk is one of my fav restaurants in NJ/NY area. Their chaats are the closest to Indian chaats that I have eaten in the US. I can order anything from their menu and am never disappointed. Tokri chaat in particular is highly recommended. They also did catering for my son's bday party (party trays to go). It was such a hit. Their customer service was exceptional even when the total amount was not that big. They were prompt and accommodating. and the food was a hit - as I expected. One of the best Indian restaurants to eat on a budget in downtown Iselin. Menu is inexpensive and there is a lot to choose from. I've been a regular here for years and I have never been disappointed. I will never come to this place again. Very unprofessional. It's so loud. Water was literally hot. Everything is given in plastic cups and I was given a shake without a straw. When I asked for a straw I was given rude looks. I HATE this place. Never will I ever come to this place again. The only person in this whole store with any professional value was the older guy at the front . Everyone else should go get a job out of the restaurant and disgusts me. For a few years now I've been eating at Dimples. Honestly love the onion chili cheese dosa and bombay chaat ! However after today I will no longer be returning to the restaurant. Upon entering we were told to take a seat. After a few minutes the server came up to my friend and forget about asking us to order but proceeded with "Ma'am can you check for a wallet here the previous customer left her wallet." Not making anything of his comment I showed him that the table was clear of any wallets and the only wallets on the table were of my friend and my own. Still he looked down upon us as if we were lying about the wallets on the table and the entire restaurant started staring at our table. Again he does not ask us what we will be ordering and then walks away from the table. A few minutes later, the previous customer who misplaced her wallets walks in and starts searching our table and belongings looking for her wallet. We assured her that nothing there was of hers yet still the whole restaurant ended up searching my friend and I. Again allowing this to take place the cashier comes to our table and asks us to move to a different seating. My friend and I were already frustrated and hungry but we kindly moved. A few minutes later the waiter after laughing with his server friends comes to our table and asks for our order. To be honest because of their laughing and inside talking, they would seem as if they kept the wallet behind the register for their own purposes and lied to the customer that she didn't leave it at the facility. In any case my friend and I ordered our favorites of course and after 10 minutes of them chatting away the bombay chaat comes to our table. We sit waiting for the Chili cheese dosa, and still 15 minutes have passed. I then go up to the cashier and ask "So when will the dosa be coming out ? " Rude and disrespectful she goes no you didnt order a Dosa. I continue to listen to her rant about how I didnt order a dosa and look at her in disgust whiles she looks at my order slip and see's that I did in fact order a dosa. Without an apology she goes, I'll have it out to you in a few minutes, we forgot to tell the cooks. -_- At this point i wanted to throw the money for the chaat at her but instead kept my cool. Then a few minutes later the dosa comes out and they drop it on the table with about 5 pairs of utensils as if their upset they had to go make it. (Maybe they should have been focused on my order instead of being scared that they might get caught for stealing a customer's wallet.) A few mins into eating I decide to pour a glass of water and there is a hair in the glass. Grossed the hell out and pissed at this point, I asked for the check and left. Honestly, this place should be shut down for rudeness, non-cleanliness, and having what appears to be an untrustworthy working staff. There are far more places on oak tree than to return here. The owners should be disappointed for hiring such a staff for a well known facility. Dimple s bombay talk is one of the very few places where you get to taste mumbai style pav bhaji. I simply love it everytime. Its a must have. Apart from that I have tried khasta kachori, pani puri, Chinese fried rice and noodles. Chinese food seemed to be spicy. So if you wanna order please explictly mention level of spiciness that suits you. Interiors of restaurant is good. The only thing which I did not like was the service. As they were closing their kitchen they kept us asking constantly for any more orders and in fact they got first order all haphazardly. Ideally in anh restaurant your first order is served together but bombay talk gives one item at a time to avoid any delays. So ideally when you want to relax and dine with peace, this place might not be the one but for the food options I can ignore these things. read more

I have been going to Dimple for over 10 years. For the first time today I had an appalling issue with a waiter. We sat down in the middle of a lunch rush and ordered tea to start. The waiter, Baldash, told me that they don't serve tea because its a busy sunday. I shrugged of his idiotic excuse and ordered food. My husband looked over at the table next to us and saw that they had received 3 CUPS OF TEA! So he got up and asked Baldash to make us tea. Baldash's response was, "we don't want people to sit for two hours and that the other table was getting up." My husband insisted so he made a cup of tea for me, which took him .3 seconds to make. He slammed it on the table and blatantly ignored us for the rest of the lunch. He never came back to say anything or even to silently bus the table. The attitude we got from this waiter for ludicrous. Somebody else had to come bus our table 20 minutes later. I love the food here and it is always delicious and authentic, however the poor service and lack of care has made me reconsider coming back. It is the mark of a place that has gotten so popular; they no longer care about their customers, old or new. read more

My fiancé and I finally checked this place out after a friend of mine recommended it to me. The good: the food was good and flavorful and it was cheap. The bad: the atmosphere, cleanliness, customer service, the water pitcher that probably had old ass water in it, and cramped seating. I ordered the masala dosa, my fiancé ordered the falafel sandwich, and we ordered fries for our almost 2-year old as he usually picks from our dishes anyway. The dosa was huge and while the stuffing was flavorful and had a nice spice to it, there wasn't a lot in there. My fiancé liked his falafel sandwich but wishes it was served hot. Also, there was only 1 falafel ball that was cut in half...that's it. The fries were good according to my fiancé and my son who ate a good chunk of them. As far at the place itself...cramped, the workers don't smile, the other customers were staring at us, you were served on styrofoam plates with plastic cutlery, a water pitcher from 1960 just sat on the table alongside plastic cups, duct tape on the walls, and it is only cash or check. While the food was good (a solid 3), we wouldn't come back here. If someone was ordering from here, I'd probably order, but it's not a place to dine in unless there are serious upgrades. read more

this was a dump before. Old restaurant with little room and congested. All they did thanks to money flowing from Bombay talk, is build up the exterior and change the name. Food is awful for the price they charge. Why is it we get huge quantity of Chinese food for far less money and Indian food even stupid little hole in the wall places, charge so much! And then taste is one set taste for every sauce. There is a reason why in Indian food, each food item has a different name - the flavor is supposed to be different. I came here with my mom for lunch who doesn't eat out much. But she liked the food, and the price wasn't bad either. The waiter was also very courteous, although he did seem to be hovering a bit. The one thing that definitely stood out to me was the bathroom (yes, strange observation, I know), which was kept very clean compared to many of the other restaurants in this entire marketplace. Came with the family last week. We got lucky and were seated right away. We ordered a bhel, Chinese bhel, idli, Mexican samosa and sev puri. I think they reduced their sizes and raised their prices. We paid $6.25 for a small plate of bhel. Even so it was so sweet. The idli were rock hard but on the other side the Mexican samosas were amazing. I'd eat here but not my favorite anymore. read more

The food is always amazingly delicious, fresh and very nicely presented. For us, the favorites are Bhel (spicy), onion rava plain dosa & onion tomato chilli upatam. Murali & Janavi keep a close eye on the quality. DBT staff are always friendly & attentive and the place has a nice café type atmosphere.
