Ascend to the 2nd floor, grab a seat and be presented with a simple menu. The interior is spartan as the seats and tables seem straight out of the mid 1960s.. probably because they really are... I ordered the Chicken Kebab Platter, which was the first thing on the menu, only to be presented with a BEEF Kabab!! I flagged down the waiter, who explained that they don't have Chicken Kebab! What?? So I pointed that out to him on the menu, and about six minutes later, I received a plate of Chicken Shawerma! LOL.. Close enough.. Not a whole lot of Hummus on my plate either, but I will say that the Shawerma was moist and tender with a bit of char. The Falafel balls we ordered on the side were tasty too, but tiny. My colleagues enjoyed their Schnitzel plates, which felt like home cooking FWIW! They seem to have a regular clientele here, but I don't think I'll be one of them. I enjoyed my ahem.. interesting time here. Yup, they need to update their menus..

There was complimentary bread which was insanely good and fluffy and warm plus tahini and an onion tomato sauce I think along with radishes and olives. We are not olive ppl sadly but I tried one and it was pretty okay. The service was great and all the servers were super attentive and accommodating. The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. It was about $100ish for everything and they recently increased their prices but tbh the portion sizes are huge and I feel like it is so worth it we had hella leftovers. If we had 4 ppl instead of 2 it would've been perfect portions for everyone.

When we arrived at around 7:30 pm, there were tables available. It's a comfortable cafe-like restaurant with mural paintings on the wall. Service was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Sadly, probably won't be back.

I'm sure there are other Persian cafés and restaurants as good as Lavash. I hardly stop to think about what made Lavash interesting. The floral aroma throughout the entire atmosphere, the gentleness of the waiters and hostesses who're well focused on serving others, and their signature paper thin Lavash bread. A clear teapot filled with saffron tea with rock candy on a stick; seen how they dip it in after pouring the tea. Interesting orange color indeed! A plate of zucchini, grape tomatoes, Moroccan mint leaves, and a pair of Bulgarian cheese; complimentary for my first visit here. Persian noodle soup, filled with beans, chickpeas, and lentils; loved the floral notes in every spoonful. Main course, veggie kabob on a bed of basmati rice drenched in saffron and spices, along with some onions and mushrooms, and of course, a large Lavash bread at the bottom to fill the whole plate. The best part is to completely sandwich wrap after I marginalized the contents on the plate. Ahhh! Satisfying to the last bite of herbs and spices. Not filling though, but I had no need for any dessert. Another highly recommended place to eat for locals and tourists alike. I let some of my friends know how much they'll love the best Persian dishes locals raved about. Thumbs up for the people of Lavash!

The staff was really helpful. I wanted the Texas salad but have an allium allergy so he advised me against it as then it's just lettuce. He helped me get the Spinach salad, which I am very happy with. The dressing seams to have allium in it, but I tested it first so didn't eat enough to get sick. The salad was very flavorful without the dressing. Also, they got it to me quickly. The place itself is your average deli, and looks better inside than out. The total price was $12. Big portions and good serviceC definitely worth it.

Lucky Creation hosted in the heart of SF Chinatown is a long time favorite of locals and visitors for their vegetarian and meat alternative dishes. There's not much parking in this part of town so be prepared to try to squeeze into street parking or park further away and walk. Otherwise, public transportation is always an option! For us, we typically just drop one of us off and circle the block while they grab the goodies. Their selection of wheat gluten dishes have flavor and texture profiles reflecting popular meat dishes like sweet and sour, curry, and BBQ pork. Each bite has a chewy and spongy texture which seems to soak up the sauces packing bursts of flavors. Eaten cold is our favorite method but I'd imagine heating it up is also just as good. Every time we come, sweet and sour and the BBQ pork are the flavors we go home with. Most patrons buy takeout but they also have a few small tables for dine in. The place is relatively clean and open, illuminated by the bright fluorescent bulbs in the ceiling and accented by the giant mirror along the wall. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. If it's your first time, consider perusing but also just ask directly. They may have some recommendations for your craving. Overall, Lucky Creation packs classic Chinese flavors into vegetarian dishes for those with dietary restrictions or those looking to minimize meat in their meals. The quality of dishes are just as good as I remember from when I was a kid although the prices like for all things have gone up. If you're lucky enough to have plans to go into the city, consider making your way to Lucky Creation and grab a variety box to open your eyes to a meat-less diet!
