I always knew that this place was popular, nut I never realized that it was that busy!! Got here at roughly 2:15pm on a Friday and there was a massive line. During my one hour stay there, the line must have recurred at least three times, with a solid 10 people in line each time. For its customer volume and traffic levels, Dineen moved impressively quickly and I was quickly served. Based on prior reviews I chose to order a vanilla latte. The drink was quite pricey at $4.75 ($5.05 with tax, I believe), so I hoped the quality was comparable. Since I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I had every intention of ordering it lightly sweetened - but I forgot! As a result, I did find the drink quite sweet, but fortunately it was an acceptable level. It only really became too much as I neared the end of my drink due to the consolidation of the syrup at the bottom. The vanilla flavour was extremely prominent, and heightened by the sweetness of the drink. The latte was extremely smooth and full-bodied! My only complaint is that it arrived lukewarm, when I like my beverages nice and hot. If you're looking for a nice treat, definitely try this place! read more

This coffee shop has a great atmosphere, good service, and good coffee. The cafe is super bright because it's surrounded by large glass windows. We ordered a regular mocha, almond milk matcha latte, blueberry scone, and cheese jalapeño scone. The great thing about the drinks are they aren't too overpoweringly sweet and very rich. The scones were pretty good too. The one downside of this place is that the space is a bit tight with tables very close to each other. It was quite busy when we went (Sunday morning) and we barely were able to find a seat. read more

I ordered a cappuccino at the Yonge St. location and asked for a mug, but they used a plastic paper cup when my order was ready. I politely asked for a mug and was told I had to wait 10 minutes. I asked if they could put it in another cup, but the barista refused and told me I could take my coffee in the plastic cup or get a refund. I asked again for it to be put in a mug (a different size), and she refused again and finally told me to "F..K Off." I recorded the incident, but she still refused to serve me. Ever since February 3rd I've had a crippling addiction to the sea salt chocolate chip cookies at Dineen, retailing for $3.10. I can't go a day without purchasing these divine buttery, soft, salty cookies. One day I bought two of them. They're all I think about and they control every decision I make and my mood. I spend over fifteen dollars a week on dineen cookies, which is $60 a month. I've reached out to friends and family for help but so far I haven't found any coping mechanism to this issue. I don't think think I can stop.... I dream about them every night and they're the first thing I thing of when I wake up. They give me motivation to get out of bed and get to school because I know I'll get a cookie during spare. I've even started imagining things as cookies... The moon, eyes, faces, stars... I don't know how to make it stop. I cant think of a future without dineen cookies and I don't want to live in a World without them. I sneak out of school just to stare at them... My friends have talked about sitting me down and sending me to therapy and my parents are signing me up but they don't understand.... I am NOTHING without dineen cookies. The coffee shop here first off is beautiful. The granite gives it a real classic kind of feel. When I came in it was quite packed, but I was about to get a booth seat for myself. They also have outdoor seating too. It seems like a common spot for people to catch up over coffee. I ordered an ice latte too as I was on my way on a long walk. I'm absolutely in love with this place, it's accessible and easy to reach because its downtown Toronto. Not too far from the eaton centre either, I KNOW RIGHT SO AWSOME!!! I ordered a Vanilla Latte for myself and Vanilla Cappuccino for my friend. Coffee was mediocre, nothing special. Both the cashier and the barista didn't seem to be friendly, they were so busy discussing something else with each other that never paid the appropriate attention to the customers. The music was so loud, almost annoying, which is an understandable tool to speed up customer's turnover...but still. This place is super pretty on the inside, the right amount of style and elegance. It attracts a very buisness forward crowd because of its location in the financial district. Often times it can be quite crowded because of this, but I find that if you linger for 5/10 minutes it frees up as people are off to meetings etc. The coffee is good and strong. I think that theres tons of items to order and try out! Its normally priced for coffee. Service is good, efficient. This stretch of Yonge Street was in dire need of a decent cafe. This new spot fills this void nicely. I don't recall what was at this spot before but it will not be missed. The space is gorgeous, brightly lit with a nice airy feel. The staff seems well trained and lively. The seating is somewhat limited in terms of the whole space so grab a seat first before ordering. My dinning companion and I ordered two cappuccino and I added a croissant for good measures. Unlike most cafes they have two industrial espresso machines (la marzocca from what I could see at one of em) Croissant was decent nothing special. I always wanted to come to Dineen Coffee. However, I could not come there because there were always many people and I could not find any seat. It would be good if you wanted to grab a cup of coffee, but if you wanted to have a seat, it would be almost impossible to come there during the week and during daytime. I had a doctor appointment at 9:00 am, and I was in the neighborhood early and I could find a seat. The coffee was as good as other fancy coffee shops in downtown. The atmosphere was good, too. Full of splendor but not too pretentious. I had fantastic cold brew on a hot summer day. They have plenty of seating and it's a great atmosphere for dates and meetings. Met up with a friend here on Sunday and it's pretty packed during mornings. If you are lucky, you can get a table but expect a 20-30 min wait if you want a seat along the windows. Seats there are super comfy and they have a few power outlets behind them. Tables though are pretty small and I found wifi to be spotty. Server was nice enough to try a few times to help me connect to Internet. However, the wifi is not very good due to how many people are using it? Or perhaps it's because it hates my phone? Lol. That's what they explained to me anyways. I kept trying to sign in and it took like 10 tries to connect. Even after connection, it was spotty and kept going in and out. I ordered the mocha latte, standard size and its basically on par with the cost of a Starbucks latte. Tasted pretty good and I like the little latte art. Lol. Anyways, I would come back. Decor is really nice and I like the vibe of the place. Went on a Sunday afternoon, it was very cold outside but the inside was really cozy. There were a lot of people but I managed to find a spot. Came here actually because friends of mine kept talking about how this was their go to coffee place on break from work and I completely understand now! No matter what time you get here, expect it to be busy. It isn't cheap, but I guess they have to pay for their rent..lol. I luckily found a seat at the bar (near the one outlet to charge my phone - score!) and just lazily sipped my latte and people watched til my friend go there. This is quite a busy cafe, which is not surprising given the location of being right downtown. There is also a small patio available if inside is full. Great for people watching. I loved my experience at Dineen. The decor really gives the atmosphere a comfortable kind of feel and there's plenty of tables inside and on the patio to do work or chat with others. I thought it was nice that there was bar space for people to sit as well on the opposite side of the cash register. It does get very busy in here- I came on a Monday afternoon around 2PM and there were only 2 available tables left!! I do find that their pastries are a bit pricey for what they are. Love love love this cafe! Ultra cute and very Parisian. If you're like me and longing for those days where you can be on those cute chairs outside to people watch - this is perfect for just that. To give a bit of perspective of how often I come here, the barista knows my name because every weekend, I'll come here to either work on my french or do work. Last month while in the car, we drove past Dineen. From the outside, it looked like a very chic cafe so I wanted to check it out. Anyway, I finally went to Dineen yesterday to meet up with a friend. Inside you feel like you're in an old Parisian cafe. There are seats at the coffee bar, the patio and the tables. Since it was quite humid, we sat at the tables inside because of the a/c. The drink menu is extensive, they also sell juices and sweets. I first had the iced Americano, which was very string (but good). Then I had the iced tea, which was amazing. I'm so happy I found this cute little cafe, thanks to Yelp! My uncle lives downtown Toronto and I stayed with him a few days so that I could explore the city a bit more. The two things that were on my list were: cute coffee shops and fun bars. Dineen definitely fits in the cute coffee shop category. It's fairly large and is located in a convenient part of downtown Toronto. Very easy to find, thanks to its big letters saying "Dinnen" right out front. For the most part this cafe is busy busy! Whenever I seemed to look up there was a line to order. Given that it's in such a central location, I can see why it's so popular. As per usual I got myself a London fog, and since I was a bit hungry I got a beet and goat cheese salad to satisfy my belly. Both were delicious! I've given up coffee, but word on the street is Dineen makes a mean cup of coffee. Maybe if I'm back on the coffee train one day I'll give theirs a try. The space itself is beautiful. High ceilings, lots of windows, large chandeliers, printed floors. The aesthetic is gorgeous and definitely worthy of an Instagram photo or two. Had been to Forno across the street the night before so decided to try a different place on our walk to Eaton center. It was very crowded but we got our drinks fairly quick. They dont offer too much variety and you cant quite customize your drinks a certain way. My friend had to change her order several times because it couldnt be made the way she can have it. What can I say...this place has a beautiful interior and has decent coffee/espresso. The interior transports you to another place and it feels as if you are in Europe while sipping on your beverage of choice. I usually pop by for a quick caffeine break if I'm around Eaton's Centre. The cappuccinos or espresso macchiatos definitely wake you up when you need it (no sugar needed)! The beans they use are strong and aromatic. The service is quick and there are often lineups but they do try to get through everyone as fast as possible. The latte art is also a great touch. I tried one of their pastries recently (forgot what it's called), but it was a bit too sweet for me. Overall, would drop by here if I wanted something other than Starbucks down the road.
