This is a small chain, as they have some around ATL, and they know what they're doing. This is also a great space they have. Tons of chairs and distance to spread out and do work if need be, right in town. The decor is very modern, and while I don't like UGA stuff plastered everywhere as a townie, I still appreciate the local addition to the inside. So far, I have ordered two drinks: // Taro slush w/ golden boba // Hokkaido milk tea w/ crystal boba The were both great, and prepared fast as heck. Also love bubble tea spots were you can adjust the sweet and ice level, which they do. I wasn't sure if I'd notice much of a difference between the different boba options, but I now know that I'll want to pair a lighter boba with certain drinks, as the crystal boba was just that, Golden a step above, and I think the balance of the light crystal boba with the rich caramel flavor of the Hokkaido went very well together, and I think I prefer it over the classic tapioca pearl in this context; hats off to Ding for helping me discover this for an even tastier and well-rounded drink. They were efficient, fast, and the quality hasn't seemed to suffer. Now, on to the few cons: // Ordering with the weird microphone at the divided window panes at checkout; it seems both the cashier and the customer have a hard time understanding each other, having masks to not follow lips makes it harder, had to repeat things on my order both times. Not a big deal, but an inconvenience, and I appreciate them putting up COVID measures from the get-go. // Boba isn't included in the main drink price. It's usually 55¢ extra (a little more for premium toppings), and maybe this just comes from me being used to having it included, it's why I'm coming to a bubble cafe, after all. I think it may be so they can offer more boba varieties, so again, not the biggest deal, but another perceived inconvenience from what I'm used to, may not even be the standard, so I'm not too off put because I may lack perspective. // The staff seem like they are still figuring it out both times I went by, and they weren't rude or the like.. just eh, but they may very well be stressed, it does seem like a lot to have train folks with with all their options. // No food options / little snacks I looked for this and didn't see any, but will update if I stand corrected or they bring snacks options to the menu. I do mainly want the drink, but if I want to sit and read or work on something it'd be nice to have the option. All in all, I am happy with this new bubble tea establishment, and I want to see it stick around. read more

Always a staple and reliable boba place. Went back recently and ordered the brown sugar milk tea with boba and it was so delicious. You can honestly never go wrong with brown sugar as a flavor. I also tried the passion fruit milk tea with star fruit jelly. Definitely a new favorite, I was reluctant to try a fruit milk flavor but it was surprisingly refreshing! The caramel Hokkaido black milk tea was super yummy too and more dessert-like. You can't go wrong with any flavor here! Prices and sizes are fair and workers are super sweet. read more

Pretty impressed with this Ding Tea! It's located in Downtown Athens and right by a parking garage that offers free parking for the first 30 minutes. They have a super impressive menu with the usual bubble tea offerings, fruit teas, Yakult drinks, and shakes, but they also have baked goods like muffins and donuts and banh mi! Like the other Ding Teas, you can customize the drinks to however much percent sugar and ice you'd like. The drinks are definitely not consistent and it depends on who is making the drink but I've always gotten pretty decent drinks. I was really impressed with their banh mi. I got the special combination banh mi and it honestly was better than a lot of banh mi's that I've gotten in Atlanta. Prices are pretty steep, but I guess that's inflation. There's ample seating in the Ding Tea with booth style seating along the wall and bar seats along the window. Decor was very simple. There's a lot of supplies visibly out though that kind of makes it look tacky. Music was also kind of loud, so I'd probably recommend coming here more for a take-out kinda deal. Overall though, I'd definitely recommend Ding Tea as a decent bubble tea spot in Athens! read more

Went today and ended up spending 9.25 on a drink the size of a toddlers sippy cup. The tea was mediocre and I ordered the sea cream.... big mistake . The girl said it was salty, it was not salty. After visiting Athens I badly wanted to try Ding Tea Athens after seeing I had a more local spot back home. They have many different options to choose from including pastries, cakes, and boba ice cream!! Once you walk in, you smell the fresh tea and boba ready for you to order. The staff are very nice and helpful. It is very clean inside, small, but has few dining areas if you want to chill. I ordered the honey milk tea with black/regular boba and cheese foam (regular ice and sweetness) and LOVED it! My drink was made quickly and fresh! The milk tea had a nice flavor, not watered down. My favorite boba spot in Athens. They have so much variety. The golden boba is my favorite of all time. The winter melon is great if you want a milky kind of chai flavor. Sooo this is how much boba they gave me? It was gone after one sip!! I have never seen a boba cup with only this much boba in it. They keep cutting it down every time i come and i think this has reached my limit. Not only it was that little it was also very hard. Pretty decent boba tea for the scarcity of boba tea spots in Athens. Their menu has a plethora of options but they all may not be available on the day you go. I went on a Sunday afternoon and they were out of classic black boba, so I went with the Thai Tea Latte with almond milk and lychee jelly which was about $6.66 for a large. Pretty pricey for only one topping. It was very good but I'll have to check out Bubbles Cafe, which is sadly closed on Sunday's, but I heard their pricing was better. read more

Sweet Hut has always been my #1 boba place and white bubble cafe in Athens has been good enough while I am in Athens, Ding Tea is officially my new favorite. The taro latte is amazingly creamy and flavorful. The golden boba is good but I would say it's more texture than flavor. read more

Customer service is trash, I've been to this location 3 times. Each time one of the employees were rude. Also, they need to learn from the Duluth location with the menu items. I ordered my normal Lychee Yakut... extra sugar, golden boba, and less ice. After my order was filled, the second employee(the rude one) explained that I cannot get extra sugar in my drink because the "yogurt" already has it. ONLY THIS LOCATION SAYS THIS. So I said whatever and took the drink, I tried it and MAM it was sour af! The boba wasn't even sweet either. I took the sealed lid off and it looked like the kumquat tea...smh. I visited this place 5 times not because it's good, but because this is the only boba chain in Athens. Every time I visit, something is off with the drink. It's either the bobas being soggy, or the drink being watery. I ordered jasmine green milk tea today and it tasted like straight water with sugar. Just go to Duluth or Doraville for some decent boba.
