He put me at ease from the very start and I have a bad gag reflex and his techs are the best and were able to make me relax and they got the xrays without me gagging and Dr. Matheny uses high tech, modern equipment and he even has what I call "a magic wand" which is an instrument that he slides across the gum line while administering novacaine and you can hardly feel the injections. He is very thorough with his exam and took all the necessary xrays and fitted me for a bite guard because he told me my teeth were getting smaller from grinding them and the bite guard relieves it and I was hesitant because I was afraid of gagging doing the impression and he had me sit up and lean forward and sat with me and spoke to me the entire time and I had no reaction or gagging from the impression and now am using the bite guard and it does work. I also need 2 crowns on my 2 front teeth and I am actually looking forward to going back to have Dr. Matheny do the work and have my teeth look good because he is going to have my teeth whitened before the crowns and I am excited about having my teeth whitened and will actually smile with my mouth open because they are on the yellow side and I always keep my mouth closed for pictures. My husband is having extensive work done and said that Dr. Matheny is the best dentist he has ever gone to and I have recommended him to friends who are very pleased with him and his office staff.
