    Dinosaurs with an old village

Not terrible. We went about 4 years ago when it was a drive thru event with lifesize dinosaurs and activities at the end, and that was better. Ours is at a currently unused fairgrounds, and I felt that they could have covered the permanent exhibits with green tarps or something. I recommend it if your child is a dinosaur fan and too young to care about the aesthetic.

Nice cracked in uneven floors for my special needs daughter to fall over.

I absolutely recommend this to no one. This was absolutely the worst event I've been to with my daughter. I paid for the upgraded VIP package and at no point during the day was I separated or asked about my VIP status. anyone who purchased a ticket could do the exact same thing as my VIP ticket. I can't even explain how poorly ran this recent was also. it was extremely hot yes they had fans but still. for the amount of money. do better. They were not polite. I do not recommend this to anyone. I am currently in the process of trying to get at least some of my money back. I would hope that after seeing this review and other disappointing reviews, they would do the right thing and give me a full refund. I am absolutely disappointed and frustrated. I took a picture with my daughter in front of a green screen that I paid extra money for after paying extra money for my VIP ticket that was 12 hours ago , and I still haven't received that picture. Do yourself a favor avoid these people and this event.

Brachiosaurus (but according to the incorrect audio tour, this was a Coelophysis)

My goodness... I can't believe we paid $79 for this crap. Not only that, we spent an entire afternoon waiting in line for this (4 hours in & out) and had to brave the nasty Porta-Potties. Precious time we will never get back! I wish I read the reviews before caving in to my child's desire to experience Dinosaur Adventure Bay Area Drive-Thru. It is nothing like what is shown in the commercials or even on their website. In fact, the dinosaurs at Lost Worlds Adventures (in Livermore) looked more realistic. Most of the displays were unimpressive although a few of the larger dinosaurs like the T-Rex were somewhat interesting. Our main complaint is the sloppiness of the event organizer. Not only was the audio tour completely incorrect (the recording states that it is for the Seattle Audio Tour), most scenes were completely unrealistic with bright orange cones showing in the display. In addition, many of the dinosaurs were not labeled and we had to take a guess what they were. This production group is extremely lazy and incompetent. Do not recommend!

Unlimited passes are a good purchase but it was tuff to find someone to man the laser tag latter in the day when nobody is interested in playing laser tag anymore. I wanted to experience all the rides, food, games, the vibes and much more, all once again. I have been coming to Great America for over 25 years and I have made many memories at the park. From first rides on Stealth, to Days of Thunder, to getting wet on Whitewater Falls. Of course, some of those rides are long gone and have been replaced by other attractions. My favorite roller coaster there is actually Patriot. It is a simple floorless coaster that use to be the standup coaster, Vortex. I like how there are many rides very close to each other and you are just a few feet away from food and drinks in every corner. There are some days though where the lines move painfully slow. I wish the staff would consider optimizing the loading and unloading process so that wait times are more bearable. Other than that, everything else is good. I do hope someone or even the City of Santa Clara can sweep in and save Great America for future generations. If we lose Great America, we lose a community gathering spot for picnics, attractions, waterpark fun, concerts and so much more.

I love a good spin and flip ride, but when the flips and spins come one right after the other and don't seem to stop, that's when you lose me. I was surprised they didn't have more in between roller coasters, ones that weren't just for 7 year olds or the ultimate thrill seekers. I've been to Great America a ton and was expecting some more options like that. We came at Christmas time and were pleasantly surprised to see how great they decorated the place. It was so festive and fun to see. I loved the gingerbread village and the reindeer roundup. It was a cold rainy weekday when we were here, so the park was pretty empty and we didn't have to wait for anything. In fact, each time a ride ended they offered you to stay on and ride again without even having to move. We waited in line to buy tickets for just that day and luckily the guy at the window told us they were about half the cost if you got them online, which we were able to do on the spot on our phones. Kinda strange that the cost to buy in person is so much more than buying online, but we were very thankful that was shared with us.

We were informed that adults are NOT allowed on the second story of the play structure and cannot accompany our child on the slides. Our 21 month old had to stay on the first floor the whole visit. She started getting upset that we wouldn't allow her to follow the other kids up to the slides. I asked an employee why we couldn't go down the slides with our daughter and she said per new ownership, they changed the rules. Except recent videos (as of today) on social media of people advertising this place show adults going down the slides. We also witnessed adults walking around the top floors with their kids and going down the slides. It seems that the rules aren't applicable to everyone. Tons of balls in the ball pit were deflated, the ball cannon shooters were not working and that's pretty much all there is to do if you stay on the ground floor. Older kids can play in the ball pit and it's simply way too small for that. My daughter was terrified of the older kids running and jumping into the pit around her. It was a rainy day outside and very crowded. I asked one of the floor workers if she could turn on the giant overhead fan to help move some air around since it was very muggy and warm and she said she had to ask the owner first. She even admitted she was getting hot as well. 20 minutes went by and it was never turned on. I guess it doesn't work? Not sure why you need to ask the owner for permission to turn on a fan. The layout could use a little rearranging. It's a cool concept, just not executed nearly as well as others with the same idea. For the price, $40-ish for two adults to accompany their toddler, it's absolutely not worth it. We won't be returning. Also keep in mind, if you order tickets and sign the waiver ahead of time, you'll still have to wait in line behind people who didn't. Just one person in front of us with one child took 15 minutes to buy their tickets and sign the waiver. Once we were checked in which took less than 5 minutes, the line was out the door. There are also no lockers to safely put your belongings in, just open cubby's.

But since it was a private track time for the party, there were no unnecessary public interactions crashing cars into each other. Safety first which I really appreciated. Great for older kids and adults as some of the parents, kids at heart, had to refrain from joining in on the party. Many of the kids weren't able to use their game card as we ran out of time. Best for kids 18 months to 12 years because while the slides are fun, it's more family-friendly and less amusement-parkish than Hurricane Harbor in Concord or Calibunga/Raging Waters in San Jose. If you're ready to move your toddlers up from tot time at the San Ramon Aquatic Center, as I was, this is one step up from that. The staff member who was overseeing slides was really helpful when I told her that it was Jenbert Jr 1's first time going down a water slide ever. She told the others in line to wait for her while she gave JJ1 a little extra attention and how-to, which I appreciated. Pros: * Clean facilities * Free parking * Slide line wait times were less than 5 minutes when we went on Labor Day weekend around noon * Variety of activities from splash pad to slides to indoor or outdoor recreational swimming pool. We went to all three activities and enjoyed each. They didn't want to get out of the recreational pool when it was time to go, and it was less crowded. * More affordable than water amusement parks such as Calibunga and Hurricane Harbor, but to be fair, there isn't as much to do here. However, the focus at The Wave seems to be on quality, not quantity. Cons: * Pricing is for above and below 40". However, the slides have both a height (40") and weight (45 lb) requirement, and both must be met. Luckily, management will refund you if your child is over 40" but less than 45 lbs and cannot go on the slides. * Much like any other amusement park: cabanas/rented tables fill up quickly, can't bring in your own food.
