No indication of how long we would wait. After an HOUR a greeter came to scan our ticket. He said the wait would be an additional 45 minutes! His advice was to post about this treatment on Facebook because its a scam. Theyre overbooking like crazy. We had a two year old with us. I really wish I'd read these reviews before we spent the exorbitant amount of money to take our grandson to this event. What a massive rip-off. It was billed as "for all ages" and informative. There were no jeeps as advertised, and the "four wheelers" were just plastic dinosaurs on wheels that went around in a small circular space. Putt-putt golf, a bouncy house that he was too big for, a few names and descriptions of the animatronic dinosaurs (not even all of them), and a couple of small sand boxes. Definitely NOT for kids over the age of 5. He was intrigued about the large tented off attraction but when I went to go get tickets to go in it, I would've had to pay another $20! The wait is difficult about 1.5 hours for us despite arriving ontime for our window but it was all worth it when my 4 year old saw the dinosaurs. The drive around the dinosaur part is about 45 minutes. She'll remember it for a long time. We were there around sunset which was beautiful. Definitely for younger kids probably 3-5 is perfect. For the cost the experience is really sub-par. Our experience was like this. We were directed into a waiting / parking lot style area with probably another 50-70 cars, lined up in rows. While you wait your typical carnaval food vendors offer their expensive wares . After a 40(?!) min wait, we were finally allowed to join a very slow line of cars going into the fairgrounds. We then proceeded to slowly wind through "stations" with animatronic dinosaurs that were rarely life sized in any way and which had super noticeable assembly lines and breakage. They were ... sad looking. Short story is that this exhibit is expensive and of poor quality. Unless your kids are like 3 or 4 and just head over heels for reptiles, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

The chance to "pet baby dinos" was one guy walking around with a puppet. Of course it's a puppet, but it was advertised as a much bigger event. I'm feeling a little scammed. Ok, a LOT scammed. I spent over $200 for something that leaves you feeling cheated as soon as you walk in. The children's museum is a lot better. Save your money. Look elsewhere for a fun time for the kiddos. January 27, 2024, we took our 8 year old grandson to the Dinosaur Adventure in San Jose, CA, Santa Clara Fairgrounds. It was a BIG BIG let down at a cost of $143.00, not to mention the $45.00 for the mining. Don't waste your money if your child (grandchild) is not a toddler. The only interesting part was at the beginning where there were maybe 8 different Dinosaurs. It took us no more than 45 minutes to get through the entire event. How can you pay $45.00 to mine for fossils and gemstones. You went into 3 blowup like caves that had a bunch of pocket that were supposed to have gemstones and fossils, most of the pockets were empty, not to mention my grandson was very disheartened that is was such a let down. He really expected to get a little education by seeing the different dinosaurs and mining for fossils and gemstones, that never happened. I would suggest to take your child (grandchildren) to the academy of science in San Francisco. The educational aspect would be more interesting and fun. The staff was all very nice. read more

Took three of our young g-kids. in fairness, they are kids and they had fun and didn't notice how ridiculously overpriced this was, the long lines to do nearly everything, the painfully drab and uninteresting dinosaur exhibit upon entering (they passed that part in just a few minutes to get to "fun" stuff), and real lack of anything worth the cost. After the cost of tickets to get in expect to buy multiple "tickets" at $5 each to do other things inside. The best part of the kids' day was when the guy came out with the dinosaur "baby" in his arms but that turned out too much ado about nothing. The employee just kept talking and you could touch the baby dinosaur. Yep, that was it...until momma dinosaur emerged from the curtain. For the next hour momma wandered through the arena, surprised folks by sneaking up behind them (how can you not know a dinosaur is walking up behind you) and whoever was inside that costume deserves a raise. Kids were terrified, thrilled, curious. Petting a big (not t-Rex big) dinosaur fascinated and thrilled them. Broke up the monotony of waiting in line for 20+ minutes to ride in a small circle in kids' battery powered jeeps. In these days of inflation, find something much less expensive and even free like a local playground where your kids or g-kids will likely have as much fun without disrupting your budget. read more

After reading the reviews I was worried it would be a waste of time. My time slot was 1-3pm. So, we arrived at 2pm and went right inside. There were no lines & no waiting at all! We got to take our time at each Dino exhibit. We had some issues with the sound etc but my 5 yr son didn't mind at all. There were cars ahead of us and a few behind. Very calm and chill experience as we enjoyed our time there. Start to finish inside the park was 2:00-3:00pm. It just kept going and going! I feel that we got super lucky day/ time we went.. (Thursday Dec, 3) I'm sure it's hit or miss.. if your looking for a Disneyland fabulous Dino land, this isn't it.. But they did their best & we sure enjoyed it!! You walk in to an exhibit of the different types of dinosaurs then pass through the curtains to 2 blowup dinosaur bounce houses, a blowup maze, 2 blowup circles to ride a tiny mechanical dinosaurs, a box of sand with some paint brushes to dig for dinosaur bones and about 5 long tables to color printed pages of dinosaurs. All that for $35 per child and $25 for adults. If you want to do the face painting that will cost you another $15 x $25. Want a souvenir? That's another $25 and up. Oh yeah! I went here a couple of days ago. We took two separate cars because I coordinated with my sister and her family and my parents. There was a line up getting into the drive thru exhibit but during the wait there were food staff part of the Dinosaur Adventure that sold cotton candy, popcorn and pretzels. There was also a food and drink stand where I bought hot chocolate from. The $5 hot chocolate was warm and delicious and it was sweet and filling. I liked the way out warmed my stomach on a cold evening. We bought the 5pm to 7pm time slot which means that we can arrive anytime between 5pm - 7pm. We got you hatching dinosaur eggs for the kids and I also bought a toy sword that lights up for my nephew. During the exhibit the dinosaurs roared and moved. Since it was dark at night we could see the dinosaurs light up at night. It was a fun dinosaur drive they tour. The kids said they had so much fun (aged 4 and aged 6). read more

Luckily we only had to wait in line about 20 minutes to get inside. Once inside the whole thing took about 30 minutes. My 2 year old loved it and we enjoyed the audio that went along with it. They followed along with the audio tour and knew the names of almost all of them. Just seeing them having such a good time was well worth it. The tour was about 40 Min once we got it.
