My partner and I live close by so we thought it would be convenient and did not check the reviews. they ruined two of my partners shirts (both different materials) by somehow staining them brown. Dropped clothes off for dry cleaning the other day and they turned out fabulous. Stains removed, pressed nicely. Will be heading back!

This place has really gone down hill in the last few months. Three issues = Three Strikes - You're Out! Issue 1: Lost shirt, had to wait forever while they went through every shirt in the place to find it. At that time the lady said if they can't find it I have to wait until someone brings it back. No offer of compensation for the loss. Issue 2: Picked up laundry the plastic wrap was covered in grease from the overhead gantry system. WTH grease and clothes do not mix. Issue 3: Lost pants. Asked the manager what their policy was to make it right. She stated they have no policy, I have to wait for them to find them. Her attitude was appalling, she was confrontational, had a "I'm doing you a favor" by looking attitude. I choose to buy expensive clothes for work, I need to look my best. I also try to support local businesses where at all possible. I'm done with Dinsmore. They need to work on their customer service, but when the manager has as bad an attitude as she does I can't see that cascading into great customer service by the rest of the staff. read more

This place is clean and seems to always have working equipment and change machines. The first time I went here, the lady working behind the counter was nice enough to show me around and explain capacities of different machines. Overall, washing clothes here is a decent experience. My ONE beef is that the other patrons of this laundromat are sometimes not the most fun to be around. ESPECIALLY when you leave your hamper under one of the folding tables, and what looks like at least four people used it as a TRASH CAN. How stupid do you have to be to think a hamper looks like a trash can? And/or why are you such a dick? I really didn't enjoy cleaning the salad dressing out of my hamper, or the cigar wrapper that was stuck in said dressing to the bottom of the hamper. RAAGEE. But yeah, Dinsmore is a cool place to wash clothes. Just make sure your hampers are under your personal protection constantly. read more

I brought a shirt to them for dry cleaning. I picked it up the day of the wedding that I was attending and there was a big brown burn mark on the back of the shirt (not from me). I had no other shirts cleaned so I had to wear it. This actually happened last year, and I didn't write a review. What prompted me to write now, is my roommate had them clean several shirts, and all the collars were dirty when he got them back, and one had the front pressed all folded over. I usually do my laundry at Trickle Coin because I've heard terrible things about this place, but decided to give it a shot after my roommate's laundry got locked in one of their machines for 4 days. But that's for a different review and I digress. Turns out DInsmore wasn't as bad as I'd expected, but it was still a far cry from great and I probably won't be returning. Let's start off with the good. For starters, it's pretty much the only reasonably located laundromat in the Arts District. Location, location, location. It's likely also the reason the owners apparently don't have to try very hard to get or maintain business. Secondly, the prices are quite cheap. $3.50 a load isn't bad, but a fixed price without options for special wash, or even the basic distinction of whites or colors, is rather limiting. The dryers are actually one of the best features, as there is no fixed price for starting a load. So you can go quarter-by-quarter for 6 minutes a pop and don't have to worry about overpaying or accidentally underpaying and having to repay the minimum for a new cycle. So, overall the price and location are good... and that's about it. On to the bad. Now, it may not have been as bad of an experience if I hadn't gone on the muggiest day of the year with no AC in my car, but there's a certain expectation that comes with laundromats. One, you expect to be able to wash your clothes. Two, you expect to be able to dry your clothes. Three, you expect to be able to comfortably wait while your clothes wash and dry. Four, you expect to be able to COMFORTABLY wait while your clothes wash and dry! It's the middle of July in Minnesota and this place has zero internal cooling systems to speak of. Dryers get hot, so it's akin to a kiln and please forgive my alliteration. Lack of cold air is pretty much inexcusable and the primary reason I'll maybe only ever give it another try in the dead of winter (at which time I assume I'll be greeted with no heating). Upon my return from home, where I waited while my clothes washed, I was walking to the coin machine and couldn't help overhearing a mildly-upset patron explaining to an owner and/or manager that the clothes in her machine were soaking wet after a wash. Yes of course they're supposed to be wet, but not in a literal pool of water (and I'm literally using the word 'literally' correctly, so don't give me any sh*t). Somewhat to my surprise the manager offered to pay for a new wash, so that was nice. But then the patron told the manager to put an out-of-order sign on the machine to which the manger replied that it "probably wasn't actually broken, she just overloaded the machine", which was much closer to par for what I was expecting after reading other reviews. I apologize for getting lengthy, but I have burning need to dissect that statement. How exactly would overloading a washing machine lead it to leave excess water? If anything, more clothes would soak up more water, leaving your wet laundry drier than expected, if anything. Furthermore, you are SUPPOSED to pack laundry fairly tightly in the washer so that the articles of clothing can actually scrub against one another and "wash". That is the basic concept of a washing machine and I would expect a laundromat owner, of all people, to understand that. Lastly, when I did eventually pull my clothes out of Blast Furnace A into Blast Furnace B, there was a hilariously-disgusting baby sock with the word LOVE written across it in bubbly, fluorescent letters. For clarification, it was not my sock, which means it distributed itself into my laundry from the hidden chamber the socks go when they break up and decide to see other socks. I know this because I checked the machine prior to loading it because, well, I was all sorts of skeptical about this place and racoons nest in all sorts of strange places. To be fair, at least it was clean. I think. In conclusion, it's worth paying a little more and driving a little further to launder your delicates. That or put more pressure on your landlord to install hook-ups in the basement. But if you need it fast and you need it now, Dinsmore is the place for you. But for the love of all that is holy, make sure you go on a day when the heat index is a bit lower than 98. read more

Dinsmore cleaners did an extremely poor job on dry cleaning and pressing my suit coat. After the re-do it was still poorly pressed. In addition, one of my dress shirts had numerous lines and ripples in the front and they got dirt on the tail of the shirt. Please check out the reviews on their other location. They are very poor. I recommend using a different cleaners. read more

I had no problem with the laundromat side of the business, expect it's a bit more expensive than others. Upside is that I can take the bus down here on weekends and there's 13th Ave just a block away. That's worth the extra .50 cents in my book. read more

Well. I tried this place twice previously, was happy, so of course came back! Third try was NOT a charm. Dinsmore straight up RUINED my clothes. This third time, I had a suit and dress dry cleaned, and a pair of shorts- hem fixed and dry cleaned. Details of the catastrophe that followed below.... My suit: I'd had this same suit dry cleaned here previously with no problem, but this time when I picked it up, it had this weird pressing pattern on the pants. I thought it would go away/rub out, but nope. I am sitting here staring at my ruined suit pants that have all sorts of weird marks from pressing. What happened? I also brought in a black and white dress. Upon pick-up, was not happy to see the pit/sweat stains still looked untouched. When I pointed this out, I was told its hard to clean black and white and they couldn't do better unless they wet cleaned it, which would make the colors bleed. I took this at face value. Until I noticed that somehow the colors already bled. There is this patch of smeared black over my breast on the white part that looks horrible- that was not there previously, and still very noticeable sweat/pit stains. So, you can't get the sweat stains out w/o making the colors run, but whatever you did do made the colors run and ruined the dress anyway. Awesome. I've had this dress cleaned before at a place in the skyway downtown and did not have this problem. So, outfit number 2 ruined. I also have a problem with dry cleaners who think its ok to put holes in my clothes by way of tags/safety pins. If I care enough about my clothes to bring them to the dry cleaners, don't you think I care enough to not have unnecessary hole punching in them? There were safety pin holes in the shorts I brought in to get hemmed, and tag holes in my suit pants!! This is unacceptable. The first 2 times I came here, I was very pleased that they just wrapped the number around a tag, didn't puncture anything. Not so this third time. This time everything was horrible, and my clothes are ruined. Moreover, the pair of shorts I brought in to get hemmed and cleaned- they did not clean. I got them back covered in cat hair still (how I delivered them). SO confused bc my first two times here were great. Then everything went to crap. Can't say I'm inclined to take anything else there to see if this was a fluke or not, bc it was so bad. 8( read more

Horrible customer service. Management is absolutely ridiculous. I have never had a manager of a place treat me so rudely. After dinsmore ripped 4 of my husband's shirts, now they are saying they can't find them and I have to come back when owner is here. I have been back twice now and called multiple times and cannot reach owner. They cannot give me any times when owner will be here. DO NOT bring your clothes here. read more

I would NOT recommend Dinsmore Cleaners. I had an unfortunate experience recently with my wedding dress. Not only were the services they provided unsatisfactory but their customer service was terrible. They took advantage of me and when confronted about it they were unwilling to accept that they had made a mistake. I ended up paying an exorbitant price for poor services and I would never go there again, despite it being a local business just a few blocks from my home. read more

I drove to Dinsmore from West St.Paul because I have had good service from them in the past and they do a good job with drycleaning. When I brought my clothes in - I was told by the cashier that I should stop at Rainbow foods to get a coupon. She did not inform me that I had to present the coupon when I brought the clothes in. The day that I picked up my clothes - I made a special trip to Rainbow foods to get the coupon. I arrived at Dinsmore and was informed that the coupon had to be presented when the clothes were dropped off! I explained how I found out about the coupons and that had I been told about using it at drop off - I would have driven to Rainbow and come back to drop off the items after I had the coupon. The manager (owner?) did give me a 10% discount (vs the 25%) but I was still irritated. I had driven a long way to bring my clothes there, was given incomplete information by the staff and ended up running around for a coupon that wasn't even honored (my time and gas money pretty much negated the discount). Also - they could not find my account - I had been a client for about 13yrs and spent a LOT of $$ there. I will do my best to find a drycleaner closer to home in the future (with a more understanding staff). I do think they do a great job on the drycleaning. read more
