One dryer gave me 5 minutes and the other gave me 8 minutes. When I brought it to the attention of the attendant, was told, that's just what they do. Additionally, all three dryers had different temperatures so I had to wait for the hottest one for three different loads. The place is no longer clean. The floor and machines are actually dirty, not dusty, but grime and who knows what else on the floors and the machines. Does anyone know if it's under new management...? When I used my mom's wedding dress as my own, my first step was finding the best dry clean and press service in the Twin Cities. With a 40-year old dress for a special occasion, I wanted the best. I called around to a few different bigger name dry cleaning spots, and both admitted they outsourced their wedding dress dry cleaning, pressing, and preservation. Both shared they outsourced specifically to Don's. So I decided to go right to the source - and I'm so glad I did. Their place may not look like much from the outside, but the team inside really cares about the quality of their work. I had my dress first dry cleaned and pressed back in September 2023, and it turned out perfectly. You can tell they take a lot of care and attention to detail with their work. They let me know that they couldn't get one mark off the bottom of the dress' lace trim that wasn't cleaned properly (40 years ago - haha!) and could do another round of cleaning if I wanted to try a harsher remover. They paid attention to every detail. And that's why, when I was preparing to wear my dress again this June for our reception, I knew I'd only go to Don's. They got chocolate cake I'd left on it for 6+ months out like nothing had happened, and it looks good as new. The prices for wedding dress cleaning and pressing are MORE than reasonable - you won't be able to beat it in the metro area for the quality and care they provide. I brought in a custom performance outfit that includes detailed beadwork, structured fabrics, and multiple components something that can be challenging to alter if you're not familiar with how these garments are constructed. I explained what I needed adjusted for my daughter's outfit. When the owner suggested folding and sewing over the shoulder area due to the lack of a seam, I felt hesitant but continued to listen as she pinned adjustments using safety pins. After thinking it through, I decided to hold off and possibly return on a later day. When I communicated that, the owner responded, "why did you waste my time?" I was caught off guard, as that was never my intention. I apologized, but her demeanor quickly changed and became unprofessional. I understand that time is valuable, but as a customer especially when dealing with a delicate, custom piece I believe it's reasonable to ask questions or change my mind. At that point, I didn't feel comfortable leaving my daughter's outfit there or moving forward with the service. Even as I helped remove the pins and apologized again, my outfit was dropped onto the floor on top of my bag, and I was once again told I had wasted her time before she walked away. Additionally, I was only given an estimate, with the final price to be determined later, which added to my hesitation.
