Passed this place 100's of times this was first time in. Hubby got the filet mignon sandwich, very good. Wings were terrific, on par if not slightly better than the competition across the road a bit. Drinks were good, prices also very reasonable. What I really liked was the bartenders and patrons at the bar. Many were locals and a few more than 5 were regulars. I learned more about the menu sitting there that night than I ever could looking it up. Am told the Juilian Salad is beyond good, the Jodi Salad is a best seller for a reason. Clam night was Thursday at .54 ea and were really good. Monday's I think, were Quizzno nite with a dinner special. Found a pool table! A/C was cool, plenty of room so was not confined. Would give 0 stars if this was the option. Mediocre food, unwelcoming management and to top it off, my entire family, who have gone to this establishment every Tuesday for several summers has been flagged because we gave this restaurant negative reviews on Facebook. This is after the hostess told some of our extended family that they could leave and that she didn't care and various other rude comments. They had 25 seats "reserved" despite claiming to not take reservations. Of those 25 seats, 8 were eventually filled by the alleged "regulars" they were being reserved for but in the meantime, at least 15 people were turned away by the rude hostesses. Owner claimed my family bullied the staff and made others uncomfortable when it was the other way around. We have spent hundreds of dollars there this summer and for the past several summers not to mention the thousands we paid for alcohol they provided for our wedding. The owner claims he doesn't care about money from our business. Obviously, he doesn't care about investing money into his dated business and into training his front of the house staff to treat paying customers with respect. While this establishment might be considered an institution in Somers Point, believe me when I say you'd be better off eating at an actual institution. You would find a far less crazy environment and maybe some decent food. read more

THIS PLACE SHOULD HAVE ZERO STARS!!! The food was not bad the the owner was HORRIBLE he was so so so rude. He told a mom on a table directly next to me (in front of her kids) to "shut up, there's a word for a woman like you!" He said this because they told him that the one waitress seemed like she needed help after waiting on 2 of the biggest tables in the restaurant by herself. He told them about how he had 40 years of experience; clearly he didn't learn anything in those years of how to treat a customer! Maybe in the 40 years he should upgrade his restaurant and learn how to treat his customers with respect!!! I will NEVER be going there again. Absolutely disgusted. read more

for the first time we brought some friends and didn't sit at the bar. big mistake. the service sucked BIG TIME and the food was just alright. whomever was in the kitchen was not the normal person. i got the filet sandwich special that i've gotten before and it was a tiny peice of meat on a buttered toasted roll. that's it. my wife got the same wings she always gets and they were marginal. weird. save yourself the hassle and just sit at the bar. the bartenders there are a zillion times better than at least one of the waitstaff, ha. and make sure the normal kitchen staff is in play, not just the lone spanish dude. read more

Good local dive bar. Drinks are good. Beer is cold. Food is good. Wings are great! So is the grilled cheese. They seem to have a food special almost every night. One night is tenders. Best wings in the area. Charlies does not live up to their hype anymore. Rumor has it the Charlies wing guy is now at diorios. In at this spot almost every Tuesday for tenders. Beers are cheap. Only complaint is the pool table could be in a better spot. Doesn't stop us from shooting pool though. Do your self a favor and order a Jodie salad. Friendliest staff in the area. I never ate here before but I've stopped in for drinks. Either with a couple good friends or on my way home from fishing. Never had the thought "oh let's all go there" it's always just a random stop. It seems to be a low key older person kind of bar. One thing that needs to be done is move the pool table. It's packed into a corner making it impossible to shoot, unless they cut their pool sticks in half. read more

Good bar food. We've lived in Somers Point for 3 years and never ventured to Di Orio's. It is lacking in curb appeal and gives off the vibe of a dive bar from the road. We met a group of friends there for Quizzo one evening. Standard bar fare done well at reasonable prices. Service was good. read more

Lets be honest here. Owner is constantly present and miserable. Owners should be heard by the staff and never seen by the customer. This is the No.1 rule for a proper customer experience for either a bar or restaurant. I have had more of a pleasant time at a VFW during a wake then this place. Very depressing. It upsets me to have to write this kind a review. Maybe it will be a wake up call. I don't see things ever changing under the current ownership. We live in OC during the summer and go here often. They have the best wings period! Way better than Charlies! Look, this place is an old dive bar. The decor is old and it may smell but the food is great. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and the food is always tasty and hot. Servers are generally friendly (there may be a salty one every once in a while but the food makes up for it). If you are looking for good bar food, this is the place. read more

This place still looks the same as it did in the 80's when my friends & i would hang out there & dance when they had a DJ. Stopped in here 3 times recently,thinking Id give it a try, after all this time,but just wasn't feeling it. Older (quiet)crowd,very rude bartender/Jim(thought he might have been having a bad day but I was told this is always how he acts) & The pool table very small & behind a half wall,making it difficult to shoot a decent game.Also why pay $3.50 for a beer when other local bars have $2.00 specials & their place is more fun?10 of us met there & left 45 minutes later.They're loss. This place looks and IS dirty, our silverware was filthy and our plates were chipped. Our short, homely waitress was more than rude to us, the bartender was equally horrible. We asked for our chicken tenders grilled, they came out fried. The blue cheese was runny and warm. When we asked for our tenders to come out grilled the waitress took the fried tenders and then took 40+ minuets to return the grilled tenders which were under cooked. I would give this place a zero.. I was taking my son out. Upon arriving I went to speak to another patron before I sat down. My son who is 28 was told he needed id before he even sat down. We had never received menus. I have been here before. The food is average. We ordered wings. They came out wrong. I always order dry. The server said no problem. But upon returning with the new wings I could squeeze copious amounts of grease. I called the server. Yes the same wings. I was told that they could not lose their money. I ask for different wings. What i was being served was inedible. With my night ruined i asked for the check. I handed the server a hundred dollar bill. Counting my change, it was apparent I had been charged full price. But it was half price wing night. For the washed and refried greasy wings. I paid and did not complain. I tip was not forthcoming my stomach upset by the grease. As I approached the door i was confronted by a middle aged female who asked about my service and was totally rude.... And blamed me for my service. They must be struggling because they have to recycle food. I paid for a poor experience and grease. They are totally classless. read more

5 stars? Hell yes. I rate based on what an establishment offers and how it meets my expectations. This place is a neighborhood/locals gem and not one of the many tourist traps in the area offering the same SYSCO fare you can get back home at double the price Not much to look at decor wise and the accompanying Package Store may be off putting to some but some of the friendliest people and staff you could ever find. The establishment and, in particular, the bathrooms were immaculate. No bar smell although the bar takes up most of the place. Beers and cocktails reasonably priced and mixed drinks were well poured. Excellent, tasteful, homemade bar fare reasonably priced. Spinach and Artichoke dip was not overly creamy with well done artichoke as opposed to the usual soggy bits elsewhere and served with ample chips. Chicken tenders were home made and the sauces lived up to heir descriptions. For a main i had the Chicken Francoise and a friend the Florentine. Both a plentiful serving and delicious. Another member of the party had a Burger was hand made patty, lightly seasoned and done to perfection. No desert available here though. We were referred to he adjacent Wawa. A unexpected pleasure and fun place to dine with friends that I regret reviewing lest it become another tourist trap at the shore. read more

Exactly what Good G. Said two reviews ago!! If I could rate this slum hole at ZERO stars I sure as heck would!! Where do I start besides the waitress and owner being super rude to me. Honestly what I think is they cater to their local crowd and really could care less about new customers and that is absolutely not how to run a business! I'm very close to filing a complaint against them. Ok it went like this. I ordered take out from them about 2 weeks ago. They have 10 piece wing order for like $9.95 or so with different variety of sauces and flavors and half orders (5 piece) for like $7.75. It was me and my girlfriend so we wanted 2 ten piece wing orders. I asked the girl on the phone if we could order 2 ten piece but split the orders into two flavors each like I wanted an order with 5 cajon and 5 regular and my girlfriend wanted 5 crabby and 5 mild. She said that was totally cool. So that's what we ordered it was just over $20 for the two orders. I went and picked up the orders we got the wings blue cheese and celery and the food was good. No complaints--service was good and food was good. I thought we had a new take out spot for wings. That was the end of diorios for us as we know it it all went terribly downhill from there. Last week I called to see if they had any specials and the guy said it was wing night which is 50 cent wings. He put me on hold so the waitress could take my order we ordered 20 wings--5 cajon, 5 crabby, 5 hot and 5 mild. It was supposed to be wing night so 50 cents times 20 wings is $10. I went to pick the order up the waitress brought my food and the bill. It was almost $35!!! I asked the waitress why She said it was tenders night not wing night!! I told her the bartender told me straight up it was wing night first of all she said sorry he's not all there all the time he doesn't know what's going on half the time there's nothing she could do about it. I was pissed but oh we'll I was about to pay it until I thought why was it almost $35 last week we got same order it was little over $20. She said I'm not allowed to order half-half orders I had to pay for 4-five piece orderes! So it was $7.75 times the 4 orders plus tax! I told her the waitress last week told me I could do half half orders and she said sorry we're not allowed to do that she wasn't supposed to do that! So anyway went home and ate our food. We had the wings the sauces and the celery. Wings were good. Tonight I called and asked waitress if I could order 2 ten piece orders but do half half just hoping it was waitress from first time we ordered and unfortunately it wasn't she said no. So we ordered two ten piece orders- ten cajon and ten mild and she said ok see you in about 15 minutes. When I got there 15 minutes later I went to the back where you meet the waitress at the take out section. I saw her talking to the bartender down the bar a little so I sat in the chair at end of bar to wait for her and made sure I made eye contact with her so she knew I was there. She looked right at me so I thought ok she saw me I was looking at the Seahawks / cardinals football game on TV watched a couple plays and looked back at waitress to see if she left bartender to go get my order and she was twirling her hair blatantly flirting with the bartender. Another 6-7 minutes went by At this time it was 25 minutes from time I ordered so I knew my food was ready. The bartender actually came up to me she stayed right where she was and he put a napkin in front of me and asked me what I wanted to drink I told him I was there to pick up a take out order he said oh ok I'll go tell Katie the waitress. He went back to waitress and told her she looked right at me and continued to just stand there flirting with bartender twirling her hair. Another 4-5 minutes till she finally got my order. At this point it was a little over 35 minutes I knew my food was probably cold and it was because of her just being lacksadazy and not doing her job so when she brought me the order and said $20.87 I gave her $20.87. She just stood there with her hand still out and as I started walking away she said in a very rude voice" oh thanks a lot -no tip!!" Now I am a great tipper and always tip even on take out but she absolutely didn't deserve a tip so I just continued to walk out with my order. I got home and my girlfriend asked why it took so long so I told her what happened and we took our food out to eat it and of course cold!!Not only that we got shorted two wings the one container had 9 wings and the other container had 9 wings instead of ten and ten also no celery. So I called and asked for manager the girl said sure I'll get the owner. About 5 minutes later the owner got on phone I told him we were shorted 2 wings and no celery. He put me on hold and came back and told me I never paid 4 celery and the way I treated the waitress I'm lucky i even got as many wings as I did and hung up on me.I never had to pay for celery b4.lol read more

Gave it a try tonight for their 1/2 price dinners. Should have went to the diner or one of the other Somers Point bars. Service was decent. I ordered the broiled stuffed flounder. Fish was ok, but crab stuffing was stringy and tasteless. What really turned me off was the fact that it was served on its own plate SWIMMING in some kind of fat laden butter sauce that had no taste either. (I put the entree on a separate small plate) Ordered a side of linguini fra diavlo that came with the meal. Pasta was cooked perfect, but you could tell sauce was not fresh, tasted a little burnt. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Francaise. Bland, and the chicken was tough. We both ordered a side salad a la carte. Was shocked when the bill came and it was $10.50 for 2 side salads !!! That is just terrible for lettuce, onions, tomatoes and a few sliced black olives. No bread was served with the meal, we asked our server for some, she brought us out a kaiser roll sliced, no butter. That was extra also. So our total bill came to $45 and change. I would seriously NOT recommend this place for dinner. Was very disappointed. We'll stay with Charlies, Gregory's, Anchorage, Crab Trap, Windjammer. read more
