The old and the new! My two favorite OC breakfasts places! Surf Cafe was a go to for years, my kids grew up there. Sadly it closed, leaving us looking for new places for breakfast. None could replace Surf Cafe......until today! A coworker mentioned Doozies, so we gave it a try today. The waitress was awesome, she told us that the owner actually worked at Surf, along with other employees. It was obvious! The vibe was awesome and the food was amazing!!!!!! Absolutely fantastic! We threw our name in and it was just about an hour wait. Seated at the counter, we chatted with the waitresses who were engaging, kind and sweet. They knew all about the menu and offered great suggestions. I just can't say enough about how friendly and great the service was! They obviously love their job! We tried a bunch of menu items, each of which was delicious. Hard to say what was best, you just can't go wrong with anything. Found out Doozie's mom bakes fresh pastries every morning and they are offered until they sell out. Super excited to get the last (from scratch) Pop Tart of the day! Wish we could give six stars, because we were blown away from the whole experience! This is a must-do while on the island! read more

Good food with a ludicrous wait perhaps because they have few tables for parties bigger than two and then let large parties of 8 or more combine those tables, taking up lots of time and space. They need to get their act together because people don't want to wait an hour even when they come before 9 for breakfast. It's not 10am and I was quoted half an hour wait at 8:40am. Doozie's has a clean, fresh, modern, stylish environment with friendly, attentive servers, and a delicious breakfast. It's a small space with no outside seating except benches for arriving customers. Expect a wait but ours was not bad. Yummy fresh fruit and omelettes. Try homemade pop-tarts if available (not on menu), though we were unable to purchase. 3,5 Doozie's just open this June and it's a fresh new place for breakfast and or lunch. Small but cute place which was nicely decorated. Plenty of staff walking around and helping out. We were a little disappointed that they were out of their homemade pop tarts especially since it wasn't even 11am and they were also out of their Brussels sprouts. Overall everyone enjoyed their meal. The lemon curd on the waffle was delicious. I was told the scrapple was nice and crispy. The French toast had plenty of flavor even without the fruit. Loved the shoestring french fries however they could have been cooked a little more. The doozie special seasoning which I tasted just for the point of tasting had a good mixture of seasonings and would have been a nice touch on a sandwich had I gone for lunch. We came here for breakfast after my parents told me this is a new must visit breakfast spot in OC, and it did not disappoint! While we had a bit of a wait, they had cornhole set up outside and we kept ourselves busy playing that which was so fun, especially when the weather is perfect! Once we got seated, our waitress was very attentive and came right over. The menu has so many different options as you could tell by what each of us ordered. My sister and I had to split the homemade poptart and luckily we got the last one! It was a blackberry poptart and wow, it was incredible. The flakiness on the outside and the filling inside was incredible. I also decided to try their fresh squeezed orange juice because I'm a sucker for that, and while it was very tart, it was so tasty! I decided to get the eggs Benedict, and I'm so glad I did. The hollandaise sauce was super tasty and the doozie spice on top hit the spot! They also put it on their version of a croissant which was so delicious. The potatoes were also great! My family members decided to get an omelet, pancakes, and avocado toast, and they all really loved their dishes as well. You could tell when eating all of the ingredients are super fresh. It's also decorated so nicely inside, with a beach and surf theme. Definitely a cute place to go with family although it's not super big in there. We waited a while to be seated on Monday morning but it was worth the wait. Our service was excellent and so sweet. The food didn't take very long and it was delicious. After a night in Atlantic City we were looking for a delicious breakfast and Doozie's hit the spot! I love little quaint breakfast spots and this will be a new favorite whenever we are down at the shore. It has beachy vibes with smiling great service. I got the Bacon Benny but switched out the multigrain bread for a croissant and it was absolutely delicious I finished it all! The eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise was on point. My husband got the Burrito and it was so huge we both indulged. The home fries are nice & crispy topped with their Doozie's spice. What an absolutely adorable place! They were SO busy but we got a table for two in less than 10 minutes. The locals were there and the restaurant was buzzing with conversation and delicious food! Came for breakfast on an early Saturday morning in late July. It's a beautifully decorated place with a good, chill vibe and good tunes playing. They have a good variety of food to choose from, reasonable prices, an attentive and friendly wait staff, and most importantly the food was excellent. I highly recommend Doozie's, and we'll be sure to come back especially in the off season when it's less crowded in Ocean City and easier to park. Thursday my husband and I were in Ocean City. After setting up on the beach we decided to have lunch. We looked up Doozie's Place to make sure they were opened. The hours posted on line said they were opened from 7 am till 2 pm. We hurried from the beach to Doozie's. The sign on the door said their hours of operation were 7 am till 2 pm. We opened the door to see several tables in use, however, the hostess said they were closed. My husband mentioned the sign on the door saying they were opened till 2. We were told the grill is off we don't serve after 1:45. We weren't even offered a cold sandwich or a salad! Is business at the shore on a Thursday in early June that good that you can turn customers away?? Well you turned us away for good!! read more
